Roxanne stumbled behind others. She still her her sack on her. Chewing her lip, she told herself it'd be much wiser to keep it with her instead of randomly setting it down somewhere. She worked to get that, spent a few hours scouting the docks, waiting till that ol' merchant finally took a break from his bloody long schedule... Her mind began to swell with thoughts as she followed behind a few people slowly. It wasn't until she bumped into a boy as she tried to make her way below deck that she realized she'd just been wandering. A few French curses flew from her lips quietly as she apologized. Pirate or not, she'd been raised with a slight know how of how to treat others. Roxi looked up at him, her green eyes fighting not to show any vulnerability. She knew no one here, and someone could be a lot more dangerous than the rest of them. Instead of staring at him, she decided to speak. "Hey." |

Rose took little notice of what the other crew members were doing. She simply walked around the table in the dining hall, lightly running her fingers across the top. Quietly she hummed a tune to herself, ignoring the curious stares from boys and girls alike. True it was uncommon for women to be members of a pirate crew. But, she could tell that wasn’t what they were staring at. There was a very visible large dark red scar across her back. It was hard for many not to stare at it. It looked like a blade of a cutlass had burned into her skin, but the injury had been catalyzed. ..leaving a permanent reminder not to trust anyone. “Old mist behind, the world ahead...and there are many paths to tread...through shadow” She sang softly not caring who heard. “Too the edge of night, until the stars are all aligned...mist and shadow, cloud and shade...all shall fade...all shall fade” |

Trent stared curiously at the girl that bumped into him. She seemed rather uncomfortable, keeping her eyes away from his face. Her temper was obviously short, due to the strange curses that slipped from her mouth. "Hi," Trent smiled friendly, "My name is Trent. Who are you?" He held out a hand, encouraging her with his grin. Poor girl was shy! Poor girl was lost. At least Trent pretended to know what he was doing. It must've been a foolish attitude, but it certainly helped him fit in. "So do you know where they serve the food?" Trent asked her. |

"A pleasure to finally meet you, monsieur," one of the crew said giving a bit of a bow to him. The crewman's tone sounded of a French-English dialect. "I was a... bit surprised by our sudden departure, but at least I know 'zat you're a man of action. It will be a pleasure to work aboard 'zis fine vessel." The man then parted adn headed down to the dining room, the Kapt'n had hoped. The Kapt'n then pulled himself from the wheel to go seek out the crew as he expected some to be lost perhaps in this rather small ship. Usually you'd expect to see a dining room to look like one, not somehting empty...unless they suffered from some mental illness...inwhich he'd have to dispose of them or find another use from what their position was. He looked at some of those crewmen still on the deck. "Get to the Dining hall or I'll get the impression ye be planning something, in which you'll be holdin' from the crew and me...and with that impression, expect myself to feel gratified to counter such of any act by imparting the sound gunpowder in my flintlock." The crew members stared blankly at him for their response "Means get to the dining room liek the everyone else!" He shouted at them, quickly they scurried. "Where is Jillia..?" He rolled his eyes in the disorder already taking place. If he needed to, he would make examples of for eveyone else to take note of. The seas around him looked clear and so he began to ehad down under the deck. |

"Oh... I guess that answers my question," Trent grabbed the girl's hand and tugged her along as he dashed for the dining hall. It was more like a mess hall, but the aroma of food was mouth-watering. Salty fish and yeasty bread it smelled like... or maybe it was something else. Eagerly, Trent took a seat at the wood table. He patted the chair next to him while smiling at the girl. "Sit here with me!" The chatter seemed to rise and fall with the waves. A couple crewmates were growling irritably about their hunger. The Kapt'n must have some resourceful cooks to feed this many people. If the Kapt'n was not wealthy, would they be eating pig slop? Trent's stomach gurgled at the thought, but he was sure his stomach was strong enough to digest anything. Being a street rat, Trent had become accustomed to stale or slightly moldy food. As long as it was edible and not too harmful to his health, he would gladly eat it. "If you get slop and I get bread, we can trade plates," Trent patted the girl's hand reassuringly, "I don't mind. A lady shouldn't be touchin' no slop!" |

cookie burst in. "who wants some grub!" he yelled as he placed a large pot on the table, it was filled with stew and the smell was amazing "I'll just go get the bread" he said as he ran back to get the rest of the food. he soon walked back in again, this time with a huge golden plate with a few pieces of bread and a bottle of wine careful stacked on top. "dig in" he chuckled as he poured out a few dish's of stew from the pot. "first come, first severed" he smiled again as he passed the wine to the Kapt'n. "i 'borrowed' it.... ha ha ha" cookie stood behind the pot of stew, waiting... |

Katrine was mildly amused, and humming to herself the song she'd heard one of the other new crewmembers sing. As she was seated on the stout table that had no other goal that to be useful, she looked around some more and pondered on taking off her hat. There were so many women here, another wouldn't really matter, would it? But something stopped her. No idea what it was, really. Probably just the effect from gunpowder fumes. With a shrug, she pulled a plate of the stew towards her. Katrine had never been one for stew, or any other sort of unidentifiable food, but she had to admit that even her stomped off sense of smell liked the fragrance of this... whatever it was that the cook had put in the stew. She pushed back her sleeves, got up a spoon, lifted the plate up and started to positively shovel the food in. By the gods of heaven and the demons of hell, she was hungry. |

Felix descended down the creaky wooden steps into the lower deck. Inside was a myriad of people, men and women alike, scattered all about the place. Some were seated at the only apparent table in the room, while a large man in stained whites served stew. The aroma already began filling the air, and forced its way into his nostrils. It had an... interesting, but delicious, smell. As if his stomach was urging him towards the food, it began to rumble and roar like a raging lion. "I hear you, sheesh. You're like a small child," he muttered, his hand gently rubbing his stomach. He made his way around the people, finding himself an empty seat at the table. While he waited for a bowl, his glance shot all over the place. The number of people shoved into this rather small place was impressive, but how varied the people were was what was so surprising to him. Professionals like himself, street rats, and everything in-between. This certainly was a rag-tag crew, but if every person had more skill than what their outward appearance belied, then this would certainly make for an interesting group to work with. Having received his portion of slop, he drew his face in close to investigate it. The smell was intriguing, certainly, but seeing the food was... another story. It looked like a strange concoction of different parts of different animals, thrown together haphazardly. He poked a few pieces with his spoon, and could've sworn something in his stew moved. Even Pipi - a monkey accustomed to eating odd, potentially harmful things - didn't want much to do with it. "Well, no use letting 'zis go to waste. Bottom's up," he said with a gulp, holding his breath before taking a taste of the dish. Despite the look of it, it was delicious! He was pleasantly surprised; he offered Pipi a taste, and having found out that his master could stomach it, took a small taste. Smiles filled the small primate's face and he let out incoherent sounds of joy. It had been a while since they've had something filling to eat. |

Suspiciously, Katrine looked at the monkey who sat on the shoulder of the man across the table. It was quite safe to say that she wasn't particularly fond of monkeys. There had been this one accident, when she was charged with rolling kegs of gunpowder back and forth. That was on the first ship she'd served, and the captain there had had a monkey, too. The insolent little creature had pulled her hat off her head, while screeching loudly, revealing she was a woman. So then she decided to jump ship - quite literally, having seen what the crew of that ship did to the landlubber-women. Katrine was a good swimmer, but nonetheless was it a very long swim, which had given her plenty of time to nurse a grudge against most monkeys. However, she didn't want to come across as hostile this early in her,... ah, service, and focussed on her less than elegant devouring of the food. When her dish was empty and almost as clean as it was before - which probably hadn't been very clean, knowing ships - she looked longingly at the pan, wondering if there would be some left. |

Rose starred at the bowl of soup in front of her at the table. Her eyes then wandered to the rest of the crew that was hounding it down. They all seemed to be...healthy...well healthy might not be the right word to describe them. But they were all definetly alive. Her eyes then wandered to the cook, who had just passed a bottle of wine to the captain. "Maybe I should wait till the captain eats...the cook dosn't seem smart enough to know the difference between poisons...but maybe if there is a poison...hmm" These thoughts went through her mind over and over again. Rose wasn't taking any chances at this point. Her eyes fluttering to Katrine hearing her hum the song. "Why do you smile at such a song..." |

Roxanne blinked. Well, this guy didn't look much like a pirate but she certainly didn't expect what happened next. He grabbed her hand nonchalantly and the girl silently followed behind him into the dining hall. Or, well it was a large room with a big table in it, with perhaps edible looking food. At least it smelled good. She silently thought that her cooking was much prettier than the stuff around the wooden table, but who cared if it didn't kill you? She looked around at the different looking people. There were a lot of women here. Roxanne wasn't very curvy by any means, but looked nothing like a boy did. Strange. Trent, the boy whose name she learned only a few minutes ago, patted the chair next to him and smiled, so she sat down. Her hand felt like she'd gotten burned. It... tingled. She had never been one for mush, but boys didn't regularly introduce themselves to her, drag her by her hands and then ask her to sit beside them. It was probably nothing, but growing up as a street rat didn't exactly make you popular. Roxanne couldn't help but look around at the food. It looked... fine, but she couldn't dare judge. Sometimes her work was beautiful and tasted oh so bland. Oh, stop that poppycock, you ignorant girl, she could hear someone wise scolding. Her face flushed a bit as he patted her hand again. "Well, that's a kind offer, but I'm sure I'll be fine," she said, giving what she hoped looked like a sincere smile. The people here seemed a bit.. intimidating, so she scooted closer to Trent a tiny bit and peered down at a bowl of off white liquid with lumps of vegetable and meat. Wrinkling her nose the tiniest bit, she picked up a spoon, being sure to wipe it off on her shirt, and carefully put a spoonful in her mouth. |

Hearing the talk and slurping of liquids, the Kapt'n descending down into the dim dining area. There a chair remained empty at the head (or rather one end of the table was for him as the other was for Jillia) for him to be seated in. He walked calmly by everyone. Looking over his crewmen once again. He was in one of his blank minded moments where he would try to think of somehitng by reading the expressions of others as they all looked at him. He then noticed one of the crew members who would be sitting next to him had a black rose tattoo on the back of her right shoulder. He just found it interestign that's all. He took his saet and then looked over her as she sat there, possibly waiting for something...maybe for him to start eating. There a botle of wine stood tall over everything else on the table. He wasn't much into wine nor any alchoholic beverage actually. He had his own special thing in his quarters, but if anyone else was to drink it then bad symptons would arise in them. "Stew..." He mumbled, taking a bowl and scopping some in. He looked over it and then paused to watch everyone else inlcuding most of all the girl next to him, wondeirng abotu any possible poisons that may lay in the meal. What they didin't know is that he could actually take it for some reason. He had been poisoned before but it simply gave him a stomach ache is all. Weird everyone found it and very questionable. ...and so the Kapt'n began to eat slowly. He was sure...or hoping that there would be more of a variety next time...or coming in the next round. But he was thankful for having something at least rather than nothing. |

After welcoming and talking to a few of the crew members, she proceeded to head downstairs to the dining room. Her cat jumped off her shoulders and ran downstairs; as her pet made it into the dining room, he jumped on top of the table and began to lick the stew from one of the crew members. Just so happened to be Sylvas, the man who dared called her a wench. Jillia soon came down and sat down at the table, facing the Kapt'n; he gave her a glare, and only a grin appeared upon her lips. She took off her hat, revealing her short dark brown hair; some strands of her hair were tied with ribbon and beads. She looked at her cat and whistled for it's attention; the cat came back and jumped down onto her lap. After serving herself, she noticed the bottle of wine was on the Kapt'n's side of the table. She got up, the cat landing gracefully on the floor, and walked over to the Kapt'n. She reached over for the bottle of wine, "Ye don't need this Kapt'n," she said to him and snickered. She walked back to her side of the table and poured herself some wine, keeping the bottle close to her. The stew was pleasant, it wasn't horrible, but she did hope for variety on their adventure. It was better than nothing though, which was the case back in her old crew ship whenever they felt like starving her. Pah! That was the past though and she was certainly glad it was there. "Well, we all shouldn't be so quiet now!" She finally spoke up when she realized everyone was eating in silence. "For this is a night to remember! Don't ye agree Kapt'n?" |

"Don't ye agree Kapt'n?" Jillia queried. "That it is, Quartermaster...yes." He played with the bowl as little stew was left in it. His attention was then brought over to the female crew member sitting next to him. "There be one reason why we have so many women aboard...and there be one reason why they be after use. This ship does carry a secret. That secret is that of the dragon's fiery pleasure that burns." He spoke, looking at everyone and then back to the woman. He then stood up with a smirk on his face, grabbed the woman and held her up with a pistol to her temple and laughed. "Here be pirates lookin' for satisfaction. On the high seas, it gets lonely and very uninteresting AND to many of you who I bet are sailors know what I mean." He gave a diabolical look. "Aye, that be right, Kapt'n!" Jillia rose form her chair. "Ya see? The reason why Jillia doesn't count as one of the females is cause she's more of the 'man' in 'woman'!" He broke out into a heavy laughter. Jillia followed for a bit till replying with a "Shut up!" "Who will be the first to make his trip with a splendid start?" He was expecting one of the men to stand up and choose his pleasure for the night. Either the soft looking ones or one of the harder ones who looked to have maybe some experience. |

She watched the captain carefully out of the corner of her eye as he sat down. Rose looked away, back at the stew noting that he had been looking at her as well. Looking up as the Quarermaster, and the captain spoke. Watching as his eyes fell upon her. Gasping in surprise as the Captain grabbed her roughly by the shoulder. Staring him down as he held the pistol to her head. As a force of habit Rose's hand pulled out her own pistol. "What is he playing at..." she thought still starring at him, as if to say "who the hell, do you think you are" |

Katrine shook her head. She was right to be playing the man on this ship, she thought to herself. But what to do now? It could very well be a trick to... Oh, why did she care? She pushed her plate back and, touching her hat very lightly, almost as in greeting, but really to see whether it was still in place, spoke up. 'Beg your pardon, captain,' she said in her low voice, which had almost no female qualities whatsoever, thanks to the drink she had earlier, 'but if it gets boring I'd rather blow stuff up than to try and attempt getting some satisfaction out of a woman with a weapon.' Rin gave a hoarse laugh. 'A man might end up loosing some valuables.' |

Felix had finished his meal, it leaving him and his companion a plethora of mixed feelings in their stomachs. It was satisfying, but he was still hesitant as to the safety of the dish, especially by looking at the artisan of the meal. But, nothing lost, nothing gained, he thought to himself. If he was to die at the hands of a poisonous dish, then that'd be it, much to his distaste. He'd much rather die in a blaze of glory - like in a gunfight, or a whore house - like a man. He pushed his empty bowl aside and took a slouched position in his seat, lowering his hat a notch to cover his eyes. Just enough to block out the light, but enough to still make out parts of the fellow members at the table. His hands rested together on his stomach, and his attention wandered, meandering amongst the various chatter happening around him. That was, of course, until the captain made his "glorious" speech, punctuating it by taking a female crew member by the arm and holding her at gun-point. He heard a small amount of bickering between the captain and quartermaster, nothing more than humble jests between the two from what he could tell. He listened intently at the captain's decree to the other male members at attention, eager to see who made the first slip-up and got a bullet between their eyes. When the gruff voice of another man - or at least he thought it was a man - spoke up, he couldn't help but chuckle a little under his breath at the spoken words. "'Ze man has a point, mon capitan. Besides, a man having their way with a woman might leave 'zat man with... more than he bargained for, if you get my drift," he said with a soft chuckle. His left hand deftly shot to the pistol holstered at his side, bringing it to bear and giving it a small twirl around his finger for show. "Besides, 'ze cool, loving touch of a good pistol is so much sweeter. So loving, so forgiving, and it doesn't try to steal from you." He stroked the barrel of his pistol gently with his fingers, flicking it open with a twitch of the wrist while his eye quickly examined the contents, before closing it, twirling it once more and holstering it at his side. He raised the brim of his hat enough to see his captain, a half-grin on his face. He was curious to see what his captain's reaction would be. |

Sylvas sat at his place for the meal and scooped the stew into his mouth without particular distaste or enjoyment. The cat, licking at his meal, did not seem to bother him, and he pet the small creature who purred in response. "You seem to like this far more than anyone else on the ship, Cat," he murmured, watching it finish it's meal and scurry off. Finishing off the rest of the stew in stony silence, he watched the others finally manage to eat cautiously. What he wondered, of course, was why they would go through all this trouble of recruiting members simply to poison them dead? A horrid waste of food, it was, and a ridiculous amount of effort at that. Most of the recruits looked poor and downtrodden in the first place, so there wasn't even much to rob. Shrugging his shoulders, he finished his stew and his crust of bread off with a large gulp of wine. That was when the Captain made his announcement. He rolled his eyes. Women were the last things on his mind. There was a time when he had imagined marrying a beautiful young maiden and living a humble, but fulfilling life with his wife and children. That was all over now, and since his... change in residence, he had felt no need to satisfy the urges of the flesh or the need to show loving warm embraces to another. Simply put, he had no urges of that kind. Not anymore. "With the amount of women on this ship, you should be expectin' to have things the other way around at this rate." He spoke evenly with no hint of emotion in his voice. |

Such interesting replies he had received for his action. Rather tickling his annoyance to some but respectful to others. "Aye....that's all I'd expect any of you to do..." He pulled the flintlock away, not yet holstering it and stepped away from the woman, patting her on the shoulder as a jester of no worries. The room was all silent but the sound of the wood creaking around them. He paced back and forth and then walked back over to where he then leaned onto the table, looking at everyone. "Any crewman who dare break any of my codes will suffer in the quickest means by my reaction time. I will kill you without hesitation if I feel you are too weak to carry on even. Our quest is something of great importance. If it is treasure you desire, then it is what you will have plenty of. I know everyone is different and acts different, I just expect you to pull off what you can to survive the world as it stands against us and others like us." He spoke with no emotion to his words. He would have to come slowly with it for them to understand...if they knew much of any history at all. "I seek the treasures of the forgotten past. The times you hear of dragons and other creatures that once roamed the land. Elves, Orcs, Purlin, you name it! Everything you ever read about in supposed fairy-tales. I want what was left behind after the crusades that wiped them out...or most of them. If any of you here know anything of the past or read up on the history...I'm looking for the sacred crystal of the black wizard! He imprisoned himself a long time ago and I seek to find it by the way of the shattered spheres of woe. All of these great treasures you have heard of are blueprints! All are real. The first one on the list that will help us greatly along the way is the map of the 'islands de sofa king dead'. We get that and we are on our way!" |

Tightening her grip on her pistol as he let go of her, Rose watched him carefully stepping back. Keeping her weapon out just in case. Listening carefully as the Captain spoke about the code, keeping her features emotionless. “The first one on the list that will help us greatly along the way is the map of the 'islands de sofa king dead'. We get that and we are on our way!" She kept her eyes on the Captain a glare crossing her eyes for a split second, followed by a smirk across her lips. Rose smirked looking at him “Ai...you seek Captain Black’s map then...Then I see you haven’t heard the news of his ship.” Pacing to the opposite end of the table then him, “The Phantom went down to the locker the Captain and its crew with it...and it’s common knowledge that Captain Black only had the one map and he always kept it on his person” “So Kapt`n Impehj, what will be your Brilliant plan for obtaining the Famed map of Island de Sofa King Dead” Rose said keeping her pistol unholstered. |

Island de Sofa King Dead? So-fucking-dead?! Trent clapped a hand over his mouth and shook with restrained laughter. Island de So-fucking-dead! He couldn't hold back the snickers and snorts. To share his little joke, he nudged Roxanne with his elbow. "Get a load of the Kapt'n! You think he meant to say that?" With another boyish laugh, Trent turned back to his stew. Personally, he thought it was delicious. It tasted a bit too salty, but it went well with the wine. Trent guzzled down his glass quickly, wiping his lips with the back of his hand. Then he raised the glass to Roxanne, "Cheers." |

So she had been right... Katrine grinned underneath the shadows of her hat. Amused, she listened to the rest of the captain's speech and the woman's reply. Apparently, she knew a whole lot more than she had not-so-subtly made known. All this talk about history long past and hidden treasures tickled her fancy, though. There was likely to be a lot of competition to this island of dead..things, which meant fights, which in turn meant lots and lots of her favorite pastime. Ah, just wonderful. She scratched the back of her head, trying to remember what little of history she was taught when her mind was still clear of the gunpowder fumes that made it go a little cuckoo. Rin was well aware of that and really didn't mind. It just meant that it was much simpler for her to play the harmless village idiot, so to say. She knew she had been told about the crusades the captain mentioned. Though exactly what it was? No idea whatsoever. |

Felix couldn't help but chuckle at the captain's reaction to their responses. He expected as much, considering the captain would be breaking one of his own codes if he wasn't. Serving a strict captain was all fine and good, but a hypocrite? Now, that just wouldn't sit well with anyone, and he knew it. Still, what surprised him more was the captain's description of their journey to find the treasures of the lost ones. He, like many others, thought they were nothing more than fairy tales meant to beckon sweet dreams - and terrible nightmares - to children at night. "So, 'ze fabled treasures are real, then... well, 'zen 'zat makes 'zis little journey so much more interesting," he said softly to himself and Pipi. His furry companion looked at him for a moment, getting some kind of feel for his true emotions at the time. Pipi had learned to do that - a trait all animals have the capacity for - to share his joys, angers and sorrows. Right now, it was a mix of, well... everything. That was, of course, until someone had to ruin his emotion cocktail with the news of Captain Black. He had heard rumors of his fate, but he never served with the man, and thus had little reason to give a damn. But this grim news potentially burst his dreams of grand adventure - and honestly, that's what it's all about with pirates. He eagerly awaited the captain's response to the dilemma. |

She watched the Captain waiting a reaction. Her eyes wandering to the other crew members and smiled to see that a couple of them had started out happy...but the slowly it looked like the world was swept out from under them. And the joy disappeared from there expressions. "If you feel lucky captain, why don't you see if you can find whats left of Blacks ship...who knows maybe the cursed map survived the flames." Rose wandered back to her seat, holstering her pistol...but still watched the crew ever so carefully. |

'You happen to know an aweful lot about captain Black, miss,' Katrine said slowly. 'How's that? If the whole of the crew went down to the locker, as you say...' she left it hanging. Personally, she hadn't paid much attention to any other pirates, privateers or royal navy-men, except for the ones on whose ship she was on. Of course, she had heard rumors, but a piratecaptain more or less certainly wasn't her main concern. It was just the way of the sea, when you got right down to it. |
