"Aye. I think we can. Ye sure he had it on him? I've been around him before. Actually we got to know each other rather well. I won't say anymore except that he would protect it enough actually pass it off to a trustworthy crewmate."

He had known him long enough and with Black being a heavy drinker, Impehj managed to get what information he could from a good drunk Captain Black, that was before a massive fight brokeout. He was unable to get the map at the time but lost his concern as greater adventures came along the way.

"I'm thinking a possible survivor from his ship may have it or else it was taken by the flames...there will always be survivors...one way or another..." He looked over at Rose.

“Ai...he spoke of you once or twice...I remember him telling me how he hated you.” Rose looked at back at the Captain, then to Katrine. “And Yes, I knew Captain Black...and you could say I’m a rather lucky sea wench...as I am the only known survivor from that battle. I would be surprised if anyone from the Ginsrana or The Phantom survived other than me. “

Pausing looking at the crew members paying attention to her as she spoke... “ And I’m more then positive, it was on him during the battle...as like yourself the prize that Captain Solibri was the map” She said stopping as she paced back towards the stairs, listening carefully. “Captain...is there anyone up in the crow’s nest keeping watch?” Not bothering to wait for a response as she carefully walked up the stairs back to the deck of the ship.

Thoughtfully, Rin pulled at the rim of her hat. 'I see,' answered she. It was,... weird. And she didn't know why, but it was. Absent-mindedly, she fingered one of her flintlock pistols and lapsed into silence, looking from the captain to the other crewmembers, then back to the captain.

Felix took the words he heard with a grain of salt, a small gulp coursing through his throat. So, the map really had gone down, had it? He could feel his heart sink with the thought of The Phantom, and his dreams of glory faded once more into the dark recesses of his mind. Still, something seemed strange, especially with the crew member who seemed to know a bit much about the map and The Phantom. A bit too much.

He examined her with a cold, apathetic glance, peeking itself over and over from around the edge of the brim of his hat. She seemed hesitant as she spoke, and her body seemed to be... antsy, dubious, expecting something. He had seen plenty of blokes who came on ships expecting danger, but this one... she either expected the whole damn ship to go against her, or planned to go against the whole damn ship. Whichever way it turned out, things with her were bound to get ugly.

"So, where do we start, captain?" he questioned eagerly, curious how the captain would react to the less-than-wholesome information. Perhaps he still had a plan for this, and they could still try. Or, perhaps he had no plan, and they would either move on to something else, or mindlessly search for possible clues to this.

He began to think of how to reply to Felix.
"We will....wait...what is that?" He froze in place as he tried to listen, motioning to the others to keep quiet.

There the sound was again. Much clearer this time as it turned out to be the sound of....
"Cannon fire! Everyone to your stations! Load the cannons! I'll take the wheel. The rest of you, take up arms and meet me on deck! These royal scum will never learn defeat!"
Impehj quickly ran to the stairs and followed up after Rose.

Katrine stood up so quickly her hat nearly fell off her head. She quickly pushed it back, then her hands darted to the holsters on her hip, whipping both her flintlock pistols out. But then she remembered what she was supposed to do, cursed a bit, put the guns back and ran to the powder magazine. If she was fast - and that she was - she may get some time to take a few shots herself. It had been way too long since she had some action.
From the magazine, she grabbed a keg of gunpowder and started hauling it towards the canons. Damnable weight, she would've gotten two if she could. Grin and bear it, Rin. And remember canonholes are great for taking shots from!

Before the captain could even speak, the faint sounds of guns firing reached the small, sensitive ears of Pipi. He starting jumping up and down, using one hand to keep himself on Felix's shoulder, screeching and squawking with a cry he rarely used. A cry Felix recognized and dreaded. It was then that issues were ordered by the captain, and everyone scrambled, including Felix.

He flew up out of his chair, following one of the crew members to the cannons. He figured he - or at least he thought it was a he - was working with them by the faint smell of gunpowder she gave off. Turns out his instincts were right about her, as he led him straight to the main cannons. He immediately went to work helping haul the gunpowder over, then prepping the cannons themselves for firing while they were prepped and loaded. When everything was set, a single word was uttered.

FIRE!

The cannons boomed with a deafening blast as the black spheres of death propelled themselves at the enemy ship, some missing, some striking the mark. He kept himself as much as possible from direct sight to avoid becoming a possible target for shelling while the cannons were prepped again for firing. He hoped Lady Luck would smile on him as she so frequently did.

((*pokes siggy* He can read stuff at school but can't post so he's making me do it for him. But it usually takes a while just to see a ship, and if it were close enough to be in firing range, that'd mean that it was only a few hundred yards or so away from you. It takes a few hours to get in that range if you've seen the ship before hand... so it just seems rushed. ))

Jackson stood on the mast of a Royal Navy ship, staring boredly out of the ocean. Ah, how he wished for land. They've been patrolling for days with no trouble, just the few merchant ships fore and aft one another. The young lad's brown eyes scanned the horizon and he blinked.

"Buccaneer sighted!" He cried suddenly. Commotion followed down below. "Doesn't look like she's got any colors on 'er! Prepare the swivels!" There was a cannon shot being fired, and it landed almost twenty yards away. Jackson frowned as the ship turned and began to persue the large man o war. It'd take at least two hours to be close enough to board the ship, but from the looks of it, this wasn't your regular sea vessell. The cannons fired broadside and there were a couple of splashes. It didn't look like any connected.

He licked his lips and squinted at the ship. There didn't seem to be many hands on deck at the time. The cowards were hiding! He ignored the shouts and commands down below as the captain began yelling orders at the soldiers. Jackson was itchin' for a good spar. Per'aps if they managed to over tak her then it'd mean a hefty pay check from the government. He 'ad to admit, she was a beauty of a ship, and quite intimidatin' at that, yet not as large as the Navy ship he was on. No buccaneer vessel could take her down easily.

There was doubt in the back of his mind, though. If they did somehow manage to lose, what would the captain decide to do with the crew? Would he kill 'em or throw them overboard? Maybe be merciful and allow a few to join? Or would they raid the treasures and leave 'er to sink? They'd find out shortly.
Signature under construction. Be back in five.

Well so far it seemed everything was going rather well… Valerian thought to himself as he at last had ventured down toward where the others were already dining and getting to know one another. There had really only been one person to talk to him thus far and that woman had been very kind and polite. Hair of flowing red and a trim figure dressed elegantly, if in simply fabrics, that spoke of a profitable profession if nothing else. It seemed everyone who joined the crew varied from another in attitudes, jobs, talents, and reasons for signing on. Robin had stood out though, carrying herself not with arrogance but with a measured impression of self worth, a worth that was not unfounded either as she proved to be a doctor. On a ship where anything could happen someone with her talents was definitely going to prove useful. Their discussion had been unfortunately short but it was pleasant to say the least.

Surprisingly enough the captain and first mate had not been overly bothered by his requirement of a private room but then that made sense considering they had appointed the golden haired swordsman boatswain, a commendable position that he had not been entirely expecting. Hell he was lucky to get anything above bilge rat simply because of his station. It was petty but many pirate captains seize the opportunity to command the people who command them in society by making them seem less than dirt. The captain of the last vessel he had signed on with had specifically gone out of his way to do so, seeking amusement for both himself and his crew by constantly humiliating the young nobleman. Whatever amusement he had managed to gain did not last long while his corpse was sinking to the bottom of the sea, a deep incision in his throat from a clean rapier cut.

Along with the entire crew, Valerian had gone down to have a bite from the ships cook. More like test the worth of the food. At the moment the nobleman was not all that hungry and that was probably a good thing as the slop they called stew would have done more harm than good anyway. That was going to be an issue… The swordsman was not overly picky when it came to food but he at least expected to be given food instead of pig slop. He stood apart from the group who centered around the table, leaning his back to a wall and lifting a boot to place the flat against that all as well. The bowl was held within one and, the spoon in the other as those light blues gazed down at what was supposed to be his meal in well disguised disgust. The first taste was forced. Just a tiny sample that was expected to taste like something near to manure, but was mildly surprised to find that it tasted not nearly as bad as it looked. Still not good… but not terrible either.

Boots thudded against the floor, the only sign that the well dressed young man was beginning to move while talk turned to maps and treasure. The Captain had been quick to bring intimidation into the mix but for all Valerian had reacted, or cared, he might as well have sat down and enjoyed his meal. Sure to the person who had been looking down the business and of a pistol it was probably as disconcerting as the next crazy threat but honestly what would have been the purpose in killing a member of a crew you just picked up? Logically speaking the captain would have been a fool to have actually done so. Valerian did not ail for fools so if he had this voyage would have been over for the nobleman al too soon. As for treasure… well that was about as interesting to him as spending the summer at his uncle’s vineyard.

Fingers brushed back a few stray strands of golden shaded hair, those pale blue eyes flicking over all those present before he was striding easily back up and onto the deck without having said so much as a word. Out into the open air where there was naught but the hum of rolling ocean waters to fill the ears. The sweet music which whispered across a sailors consciousness and, like a siren’s song, brought men to ease while at the same time filling them with a wonder they did not even notice growing themselves, something beautifully subtle and enchanting even while the scent of salt water permeated the air. It was peaceful… tranquil and calming as those shining eyes the color of a light sky peered out over the rolling waves. It was a quiet that was short lived, however, as soon the ship was called to action. Here was another vessel approaching and the pirates who formed the crew would be damned if they’d lose so soon after starting this little venture. Two of them, the gunners it seemed, headed back down below deck and straight to the cannons for preparations.

Valerian came from the bow, striding slowly, calmly toward the side of the ship to look out at the distant vessel that was making its way toward theirs even then. It was impossible to tell what was passing through the young man’s mind. A rapier was already belted to a hip, the fancy flintlock pistol tucked inside that expensive, custom tailored mahogany colored jacket which wrapped his tall, broad shouldered form. That smooth, lightly bronzed expression was unreadable, the eyes locked on that vessel and unflinching even as the command to fire was shouted.

“Out of range…” he said aloud, mostly to himself though anyone standing right beside him would have been able to hear it right before the boom of cannons exploded into the air from below deck. A waste of ammunition as it turned out to be exactly as he had predicted. The two ships were just a little too far apart for now… that meant they had time to prepare, time to see just what this captain was capable of.

“Prepare muskets and be sure you’re armed.” He announced to anyone who might be close enough to hear or listen. “If the cannons don’t take care of that ship we need to be prepared to fight them off.”

The rest of the crew on the pirate’s ship left Robin alone for the most part, which was just fine with the surgeon. She found that she preferred to get to know people from a distance rather than engage in instant conversation, so she was content to linger around the edges of the small crowd, absorbing the conversation, her bright green eyes taking in every movement and expression. Perhaps it could be attributed to shyness, perhaps it was simply the fact that Robin never took much time in her life for social situations, but all in all, they made her relatively uncomfortable.

So she stood in the back when the captain addressed his new crew on deck, listening intently but saying nothing. It was a relief to hear that there was to be some sort of law on the ship, even if the rules were fairly general. She hadn’t really given much thought to what kind of order there would be on a pirate vessel, but it was certain that the captain had. And when Kapt’n Impehj announced that it was time for dinner, Robin quickly realized that her stomach was growling.

Her slim fingers trailed the worn, wooden railing as she followed her new crewmates into the galley to eat. But once seated at the long table, Robin suddenly lost her appetite. The sight of the food was… intimidating to say the least. And then there was the fact that one of the pirates was allowing his pet monkey to slurp from his own bowl, while another allowed a cat to lap up the stew from hers. Grimacing, Robin forced down a few spoonfuls of food, which turned out to be surprisingly satisfying, but pushed the bowl away before it was empty.

I’m certainly going to be busy here if people are letting these filthy animals share their suppers, Robin thought to herself as she eyed the monkey again with a frown. Ridiculous.

Then the captain surprised them all by holding one of his crewmembers at gunpoint. And his lewd invitation left Robin genuinely frightened. She sat back in her seat, still as a statue, praying that once again she would be looked over. But the crew turned out to be a civil one, at least, and the captain let his little jest pass. Still, Robin’s ever working mind turned over the man’s words, wondering exactly how trustworthy her new leader was. She decided that she would avoid being alone with the man, unless he was under her knife during surgery.

It turned out that they were chasing some treasure of legend, and would have to pass through all sorts of creatures and perils to get to it. Sure, Robin thought, Whatever you say, Kapt’n. Did anyone at the table honestly believe in fairies and elves and those other things he was mentioning? They seemed foolish to someone as science-minded as Robin. She believed in only what she could see and touch and take apart. And she had yet to see an orc, or anything like one. But then again, her father had always said that sailors were the most superstitious of folk…

The sudden cannon fire made Robin jump in her seat. But her shock at the noise quickly turned to anticipation. Here was what she had come to the ship for: the danger and excitement. And maybe now she could actually have a part in things, instead of silently hovering in the shadows. Perhaps in the coming battle someone would be wounded and Robin could get to what she loved the most; her work. Perhaps someone might lose a limb, she thought with an excitement that bordered on morbidity. It wasn’t that she wanted someone to get hurt, of course. But she relished the challenge of putting a person back together.

Pushing her chair back, Robin tucked a strand of her fiery red hair behind her ear, snatched up her leather bag of equipment, and practically skipped up the stairs to the deck.

"What is the crew doin' tryin' to fire?! I have yet to even command it! I'll deal with the lot later..." The Kapt'n ran to the wheel and began leading it towards the the enemy vessel in hopes of getting closer quicker as the wind would be able to turn but the rest would be too much to deal with at the time.

This was a new crew and some new to battle so that lot would have to be shown the ropes. He wouldn't want them mindlessly boarding at the wrong moment. But then again as he wondered about the Royal Navy ship, they have had their shares of mess-ups and lately many of their ships have been run by horrible captains that would take to the poop deck to do their business instead of the other end. Sad sight to see.

This curiousity struck him since canon fire was made but ou of range so that foolish action gave them away. But then again, the Kapt'n should have had someone on lookout wilst most were under deck.

"Tell them to use the chain shot once we get side to side with the enemy to bring their mast down easily...unless one thinks he can nail it with a cannon ball which then I'll pistol whip him!" He then shut his mind up and ordered.

"Prepare your weapons as we have the time to do so."

As he then started turnign the wheel, he thought he'd pass the time witha joke.

"One foggy night off the southwestern coast of Nordahsh, a Swedish frigate captain heard shouting in Nordahshian telling it to shift course a bit to the west.
The Swedish captain bristled, and replied that the shouter should shift HIS course a bit to the east!
Moments later the shout came telling the Swedish ship to move a bit to the west.
"I vil NOT!" screamed the captain. He turned to the sailor in the crow's nest and yelled, "Yu tell dat dumb nordahshian to shift to da east!"
Again came the reply to the Swede to shift his course to the west.
By now the captain was livid, and he signaled "NOW YU LOOK HERE, I AM A CAPTAIN ON A SWEDISH BATTLE SHIP, AND I AM TELLING YU TO SHIFT YOUR COURSE TO THE EAST IF YU KNOW VAT'S GOOD FOR YU!"
Moments later came the reply: "Ja, vel I am at the Nordahshian lighthouse and you vil shift to da vest, if yu know vat's good for yu!" He then laughed, curling over the wheel.

Sadly though the man who told the joke to the Kapt'n never finished as he was about to explain why the Swedish captain didn't notice the lit lighthouse as he was shot by a drunkard....ohwell to that, he thought.

Katrine glanced at the man with his monkey, scratching her head a bit. 'Shouldn't we be waiting with firing till the captain says so?' she inquired and pulled her hat a bit further over her face. Not that she cared, really, after all - an explosion was an explosion. Gunpowder fumes coiled all around them, entering her nostrils and making her feel quite exhilirated. She repressed the feeling, though - at least, until they were at a closer range and would need all the adrenaline they could muster.
When there was a break in the work, she got out her pistols and carefully checked them to see if they were loaded properly. They were. Rin smiled, stroked the barrel of one of the guns fondly, then put them back in the holsters on her side.

"Prepare your weapons as we have the time to do so."

"YE HEARD THE CAPT'N! PREPARE YOUR WEAPONS!" Jillia shouted angrily over to the lower deck; hopefully, people already knew what to do, but in case they didn't know what the hell was going on...

Jillia ran over to Kapt'n side and watched the navy ship sail by, coming closer and closer with the strong waves. She only quirked a brow when she heard Kapt'n speak of a joke. A dumb joke too. She turned around and glared at him.

"Kapt'n, if you're going to tell a joke, at least tell a funny one!" She grunted and only checked to see if her pistol was fully loaded; her two swords sharp and ready. Another sound of the canon from the enemy ship. It came closer to the ship, but landed in the ocean, causing a fierce splash.

"Shall I raid the ship Kapt'n?" She asked him after checking her weapons. Jillia figured the royal navy people had pretty valuable items on their ship. Shit to sell and make money.

At the sound of the explosion and the Captain's yelling, everyone was up and running about, except of course Sylvas. He glanced at the first mate's cat and sighed loudly. The cat seemed to understand his frustration. "This is going to be ridiculous," he muttered to his furry friend, who meowed and purred in response. "Well, I'm certainly glad you're enjoying yourself." A new crew facing battle for the first time? Already there were errors, and Sylvas felt a headache coming on. Finally however, he decided it would probably be best to just get up and at least start playing.

The ship's musicians main job were to... well, play. Play during battle, during chores, or just for fun. Granted, if someone were to attack him, he would strike back with the best of his ability. Until then though, he hoisted his violin up to his chin, and began to play a shaky, yet exciting battle song. Shaky because he was doing his best to continue playing while making his way to the deck, weaving through running crew members and trying to concentrate over the yelps and shouts. Needless to say, the first few minutes sounded much like a dying animal to Sylvas's highly sensitive ears.

The horrible sound did not last long, however, for once he got on deck he positioned himself at his usual place, where the rest of them should have been. The last drummer had unfortunately met sword to eye and died quickly afterward. A flutist had been shot in the head for disobedience, and a fellow violinist died of a very bad case of food poisoning. What a pity. Well, not to Sylvas of course. He never liked them anyway.

He continued to play and kept his eyes open against his will, remembering to stay alert during a fight - however he did feel a small twinge of satisfaction to watch some of the crew get an extra spring in their step, probably from his playing. At least, he hoped so. It was one of life's small satisfactions. As he scanned the area while trying to keep his notes timed perfectly, however, he began to notice a ship in the distance. A ship that seemed quite familiar as a matter of fact. He visibly paled, his playing almost came to a stop.

Felix glanced over at girl who was also loading the powder and the guns, preparing the next volley. Yes, he had shot the gun before-hand, but then again, so had they. The most logical reason being to gauge the distance and the strength of the guns and wind. He simply did the same. He measured the distance of the balls in his head, and estimated the time before they'd be in range of firing. This time, he wouldn't miss.

"You're right, mademoiselle. Simply gauging 'ze strength of 'ze guns. Besides, only two volleys were fired. This time, we'll fire all of 'ze cannons when 'zey are in range." His eyes peered out a portion of the cannon hole, watching the enemy ship. All he could do now is wait.

"Besides, I'll take responsibility if 'ze captain is mad." He flashed a grin at her, his eyes glancing to her for a moment before returning to the sight he was excited about. Still, something in the back of his mind knew he'd be scolded by the captain. Still, he'd deal with it when it comes.

((You're right about it being rushed, but technically, since they were already firing, they were either gauging the distance or were already in-range. But that's simply my logic, and it's probably flawed. xD ))

'Mademoiselle?' Katrine protested in a voice that was just a little too high-pitched. She quickly coughed and bent over the keg of gunpowder to load the cannons once more. Great, yet again it was a man with a monkey who found out. 'Ja, if you say so,' said she then and quickly took a sip of her bottle. Grumbling, she set back to her work again. Even though it may not prove as bad to be a woman on this ship, she still wasn't quite comfortable with the idea. Rin even somewhat believed in the superstition that women aboard a ship bring bad luck.

Rose was the first out onto the deck, and immedietly she grabbed, her spyglass, from the belt that her hilt hung from. As she climbed, her way ups the net to the crow’s nest. Looking through it as they grew closer to the navy’s vessel. Watching the crew, and where they were stationed...and paying attention to looking for the week spots on the boat.

When the sound of a violin caught her ears... “Oh right...I’m sup post to sing for the crew so they do better in the battle” she said to herself. Watching as the French pirate fired off the canon. Pulling up one of the sail’s ropes around her left arm...waiting for the two boats to grow closer. True she was a musician...but the way she used her musical talents was far from the conventional ways. Often in a battle, she would use her talents for song and her talents with the blade together.

She could hear the Captain Laughing from her perch, as she waited. “He must be insane” Rose muttered to herself. As she waited for the opportune moment, as the two boats grew closer. Rose started to sing a single alluring note. Letting the sound of her voice float on the wind towards the other ship, hoping to distract the young sailors that she had spotted through the telescope.

"Jillia ya might as well just get up there! We both know you'll make it over one way or another, just remember to wait till we've fired at their crew so it'll make it a bit easier for ya...even if you could just manage to do it alone like last time!"

He turned back to the wheel, positioning it just right for the cannons to fire one after another as they would tear into the ship as it would pass slowly.

The enemy ship planned to match the Kapt'n as the two ships would then turn with one another.

"Remember to destroy their mast! I want it down! Everyone! On my mark....FIRE!!!" The Kapt'n ordered as the enemy responded as well with the same order.

Felix's hand shot over his mouth at his sudden lapse in thought, but by the reaction, it seemed his instinct about her was correct. And, by the sound of the voice, it sounded as though she was trying her damndest to hide her gender. But her face - even covered in soot and ash - held the unmistakable qualities of a woman. Felix could tell this without looking at anything else about her.

"My... apologies," he said with a slight bow of his head, making a motion with his hand and lips as if to say her secret was safe with him. He shot a glance to the other men working the cannons, so that even if they heard as well, they wouldn't let it out either. After this, he returned his attention to the pressing matter at hand, and was surprised how quickly the ships had lined up into attack position. Unless providence was on their side, that mast would drop, so help him.

That's when he heard the order. So, the captain wanted a specific part blown to smithereens, eh? Felix loved a challenge. Prepping the cannons he fired prematurely to test the strength of the make, he and a few others aimed at the desired target. He heard the word, and when he had a clear shot against their mast, the entire lower deck seemed to shudder with the resounding explosions.

Wunderbar, Katrine thought angrily to herself and pulled her hat a little farther over her face. She caught his gesture, and felt a little more at ease. At least he wasn't going to tell - or so she hoped. 'Just don't mention it again,' she muttered at his apology. 'Now, let's blow stuff up.' She turned to the keg of gunpowder and heap of canonballs and started distributing them among the canons. When she was done with that, she was back just in time to see the chainballs soaring towards the mast of the other ship. A broad, delighted grin spread across her face. This was just excellent! Her hand travelled almost of its own accord to one of her guns. She could hardly wait until she could take a few shots herself, be it at the ship, or at a random navyman.

Tightening her grip on the rope as the captain gave the order to fire at the other ship. Sliding down, her feet to the ships mass, as she waited for the opportune moment. Still singing the same note, changing it ever so slightly... but still keeping the alluring charm.

Her feet planted firmly on the side of the mast as she stepped back a couple feet. Glancing down at the captain and the quartermaster...as much as Rose enjoyed taking orders, or following the rules during a battle...but then again she had plenty of leverage in her favour in case Kapt’n disagreed.

“Here, goes nothing” she said to herself Waiting till the canons to fire to move. As the cannon balls flew towards the enemy ship, Rose took another couple steps back. Followed by a running leap off the mast, holding onto the rope...letting go as she was above the water crossing over to the other ship.

Jillia admired the music playing throughout the ship, damn that violinist was amazing, she thought. As she scurried about the ship, she noticed Rose swinging across the ship and over the water. She couldn't help but scowl at the woman.

"That was my idea!" She growled. Jillia quickly sheathed her weapons and looked back to see that Sylvas stopped playing. "Oye!" She ran up to him and stumbled a bit as a canon was fired. "Why on earth did you stop playing?" No answer, but by the look on his eyes, she somehow sensed his intimidation from the navy ship. "Arghhh, c'mon!" She ordered him and dragged him away from his spot. "You're coming with me. There's no way in hell I'm going to let that girl take control!"

They both stood on the rail of the ship and Jillia glanced over at Sylvas. "Ye know what ye have to do!" She spoke in a rash voice. She made him grab hold onto the rope that was part of the sail and she grasped onto it as well. "The ship is ours!" She cried out as they swinged across the ocean and onto the navy ship.

As soon as they landed, immediately she fired a bullet into one of enemies head. Twirling her gun about, she placed it on her belt and unsheathed her swords, raising one for defense and using the other to fight. All she needed to do was raid the headquarters and steal what they had. She grinned as she fought her way.

His eyes reflected a distant past before his unlikely downfall into piracy, as well as the daunting despair he felt at the realization that his family may very well be dead, his friends grown and honest men. Honest. What was honesty anymore? Was stealing for one's food more honest than stealing for one's own happiness? He was no rapist, unlike many other pirates he had known. Not for any pipe dream of nobility, but only because he could not care less about women, young, old, willing or resisting. Did that make him more honest than the others? No. It just made him an abnormality amongst abnormalities.

The ship he saw across the ocean was one very much like the one he had be captured from, even though he knew the original had been destroyed. There were survivors though - that much he knew from his previous captains angry shouts on that fateful night. Was there anyone he knew on that ship that they were just about to battle? And could he willfully cause an attack similar to the one that turned him into a reclusive, miserable pirate?

His thoughts had no time to progress, however. Jillia, presumably angry that his violin playing had stopped, grabbed him by his wrist, commanding that he come with her. "Augh! Wench, you know I have no business in attacking." Her only reply was "ye know what ye have to do!" and then they were swinging across the ocean onto the Navy ship, as Sylvas wondered how badly he would throw up later.

"Wonderful!" he said quite shakily as they landed, Jillia already laying waste to the enemy. "I suppose your ship isn't one for keeping their musicians!" he quickly managed to protect his precious violin from the attackers and promptly punched one directly in the mouth, breaking a few teeth. At that point he decided it would be best to unsheathe his shamshir, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
