"I promise my princess. I will be back for you. Whether it be to take you away or not. I will be here. But for now," He paused a moment still in regret. "I have to find your sister and see if she is ok. Her death would put a great burden on my heart. It would have been my fault. And, that I can not stand. Good bye princess. I will be here tomorrow." Jio leaped out of the window landing on the ground, surprisingly next to where he got the guard clothes. He removed the guard clothes and put his normal attire on. "Hope I haven't been seen." Jio rushed off of the castle grounds and back towards the city where the fight was previously. "Hope I'm not too late." |

"You will regret that..." Xavier said to the man, gripping on his sword and charged straight to the man, with swords clashing, xavier leaped back at the princesses side, aiming it to the man. "Surrender yourself, and you may escape with your life intact." The man began to laugh to xavier's words, "Not until i get the girl...Arrgh!" the man replied, rasing his sword, and charge at him. Xavier grinned, "Very well." He turned to his side, to looking to the princess with a smile. "Dont worry my lady. this will end in just a few moments." after those words, he too charged, his sword facing the direction of the man's chest. Edited by Sigma, 10 Oct 2008, 03:37 AM.

Delia nodded and whimpered as a searing pain ripped through her ankle. "Damn it," she muttered, taking a few deep breaths. She couldn't stand the smell of blood, as it made her want more. She plugged her nose and tried to prevent the transformation from her angel form to her vampire form from happening once again. She watched the battle, people surrounding her as she tried to watch. Finally she got pissed and let go of her nose and propped herself up into a standing position. She glared at the people around her as they parted for her to hop her way over to near the battle. She let her bow materialize in her hand, an arrow already knocked and ready to fire. |

"Dear, are you still awake?" The queen says. Mother. "Yes Mama." Emma says, glaring the the ring on her finger. Delivered by her father, it was to be announced at the after ball. She hears the door open and her mother come in. "One of your guards is dead Emma, but you are fine. I didn't much care for that one. Now what has your father gone and done to my strong daughter?" Her mother says. Emma just lifts her hand and shows her the engagement ring.n "Emma dear! You could have said no. Why did you say yes? Why my dear?" Her mother says. "To protect my sisters. Ella and Delia need that. I am protecting them, as I have done since we were seven." She says before sitting down on the bed again, her mother sits down next to her. "My dear Emma, who is there to protect you now? Who has ever protected my strong daughter?" Her mother says and Emma cries once more. "No one mama. No one. I could have left it to fall to one of my sisters, my duty, and left tonight. But I did not. I must protect them. What happens to me is of little consequence." She says, leaning on her mother's shoulder. "You do have a plan though, don't you?" Her mother says. "You won't like it mother." Emma says. "I might not like it but you will tell me." Her mother says. "I will marry Prince Deon. I plan to kill him, say it was in self-defense, on our wedding night." She says looking at her mother. "You are right I don't like. But I can't stop the wedding, now can I?" her mother says. "No one can, mama. No one." She says, silent tears falling from her eyes as her mother holds her. "I'm doing this to protect Ella and Delia. If the plan fails I either am killed by Deon or he will force me to his bed. I've loved one man and the king killed him." Emma says, sadly. "He was a good man. I think I will have a meeting with the Advisers soon. Do try and get some sleep Emma Dear. Maybe I can have you married to a thief instead." She says before leaving Emma with a kiss on the forehead and a laugh. The door closes silently behind her. "A thief? Was she joking?" Emma says before falling onto her bed to stare at the canopy. "The life of a princess is to follow all the kings orders and never disobey. My life is defined by rules and regulations. The only love that is here is for my sisters, my brother and my mother. I feel no love for the man I call father. He is king, father no more. I will not call him father again." She says quietly to herself. Her freedom was coming to an end, and death was swiftly following it. She sits up quickly. "Delia!" She shouts before heading to the balcony. "Damn it. I place the blame for this on myself! Stupid stupid Emma!" She yells at herself, but as always, her view of the city is minimal. She can only see the first shops but not where Delia is. "Curse this night." She mutters. |

The Ice Queen

((Meh, I'm bored and need something do to, so here is a useless post for plot with a minor dream sequence for Ella. And don't mind the name change, it's still Gwyn.)) Her breathing was the only sound that softly filled the darkened chamber. The candle upon the nightstand beside the large white bed had burned down considerably since her eyes had last been open, the wax peeling away from the top to drip down the sides of the off-white stick to drizzle down onto the iron base, where the melted wax was collecting and drying slowly into a solid state. The flame caressing the blackened wick with its heated glow flickered little in the silence, just a tiny spark of still-light amidst darkness. The slender young woman buried beneath the thick blankets of the bed turned slightly in her sleep, the motion itself finally causing the flame to dance upon the candle in response to the disturbance in the air. Eleanor slept deeply after that stranger had left her sight, all of the stresses of the day weighing down upon her and pulling her off quickly into slumber. Her tears had also quickened the process, for crying had always made the princess sleepy after every fit. She was such an emotional girl, putting nearly her whole self into each emotion, fueling such things to their strongest and most overwhelming state. Perhaps it was why she had always grown so tired easily over the years, throwing around her emotions as she did. Though after tonight's events, she thought she would never have to be sad again. Her father's words had fueled her dreams that night, giving her visions of a grand ceremony within the great halls of a grand castle. Ella had been dressed in white and gold, a flowing gown with a veil covering her head. As in most of her dreams, the young princess never had the need to walk slowly and with support, for she never felt so weak in her dreams. Instead, she had walked gracefully and with confidence, her chin raised and a contented smile tugging at her lips. Standing ahead at the altar before the older man in robes who would perform the ceremony, was her groom, the prince that her father wished for her to marry. In the dream, she could feel her own happiness swelling within her heart. Finally, a chance for her to do something for everyone. Not Emma, nor Delia, but Ella herself. Finally, there was something that she could do for everyone. As dreams normally go, they were not smooth in transition, and the events weren't always in order. The edges of the vision blurred, and some scenes played in a bit of a haze for her mind's eye, but even still, she could understand the events before her. Standing at the side of her groom, her hand resting upon his as they faced the old priest, she knew she needn't have any doubts of the oncoming union. Her father would never ask her to do anything that would compromise her. Ella, in her inexperience with life, had never considered that marriage was something to come only of love. Her mother and father had married for convenience during their youth, and things seemed well. They had children of their own, and still reside within these halls together. Love was not a necessary thing, as a union without love can still be successful. The young woman hadn't the chance to ever know love before now, and as it was, she was unlike her sisters in her belief that love was not a necessity. She learned from a very young age that love does not play a part for nobility and those of blue blood, and since that time, never had she considered it anything she would want, as her mind had determined early on that it simply was not a part of the world she lived in. Marriage with a foreign prince would be perfect for a princess, since it is what she was born for. Most children of royalty married eventually, and for once, Eleanor had that glimmer of hope that told her that she, too, could bear such a fate. That she could be depended on to make such a union succeed, and not only her sisters. Finally, she wasn't useless. Eleanor continued to dream on, witnessing the hazy spectacle of a quiet union between two royal households, her family standing aside to watch, her father beeming with joy as his face was a mask of pride. In reality, she knew not how her sisters would appear at any wedding she may have in the future, but she hoped they would appear as happy as they did in this vision. The priest spoke words over the pair, his voice raised in a melodious string of Latin as he blessed the union of the two, prompting the pair to turn and seal the union with a kiss after sipping from a single goblet of wine. However, as Eleanor turned to her groom within the dream and looked up upon him, his face was a blur, as though a liquified haze had settled over it. Within her mind, she simply reasoned that it was due to the fact that she had never seen any image of the Prince Killian her father had mentioned, but even then, she thought that her mind might have come up with some sort of face for her would-be prince. As the pair stepped forward to share the first kiss that would solidify their union before so many witnesses, the dream began to blacken and return to nothingness within the recesses of her mind. Eleanor slept on, her sleep continuing to keep its hold over her deeply. |

((I was starting to wonder...Okay once all princesses are back in the castle I will shift it to the Crowning unless anyone has any objections. Emma is not looking forward to that I can tell you)) Emma buries her head in her pillows. Then she punches them. Then she throws one at the wall. "GAH!" this was no use. Emma was not going to get any sleep tonight. "Damn it!" She never did sound like a princess in her chambers. "Princess are you alright?" The new round of guards says. "Fine. Just bloody fine." Emma says, muttering the last part. She stands up and starts pacing her room, thinking to wear herself out. If she was tired she'd fall asleep, or so she figured. Her plan had yet to work. "Bloody hell, why do I have to have the restless mind?!" She kicks the pillow she'd thrown earlier. She was getting annoyed by this point. |

The two clashed their swords repeatedly, about five times to be exact, until xavier rolled to the right, with his sword facing front and charged at the man's chest. He racted to xavier's move, and charged towards him too. Xavier gave a smirk, "Gotcha..." he quietly said, dropping his sword and immediately pulled out a dagger, throwing it straight at the stomach. Delia gasped and closed her eyes when the dagger pierced the mans stomach. She heard him swear and she shivered at his harsh words. She let her bow dematerialize as she fell to the floor, staring at the ground as she did. Her ankle was throbbing by now, and it was quite swollen. |

Xavier walked over to the man, crouching down to him. "I hope you learn from this." he said, while hand reached down and took out the dagger from the man's stomach, wiping the blood off of it with his enemy's clothing. He then left to retrieve his sword. after getting his sword, he looked to the princess, with a smilie "Well, now thats done with. shall i escort you home?" Edited by Sigma, 14 Oct 2008, 04:18 AM.

Delia shook her head. "I don't want to go home... not now..." she murmured, looking up at Xavier with wide eyes. "Please, take me with you," she begged, trying to stand. She winced and fell onto her knees. She groaned as a guard ran up behind her. "Princess Delia!" he roared. She winced and covered her ears, crawling over to hide behind Xavier. "Good lord, is that the best i can come up with? he may have already seen her face!" He slightly turned his head to Delia, "Dont worry, ill get you out of here." he whispered to her. |

The guard looked bewildered at first, but then his face hardened. "I am sure that is princess Delia," he said. Delia hid behind Xavier and nodded when he whispered to her. She hid her face and kept her crown in her pocket. She murmured some words and grabbed onto Xavier's leg. A flash of light exploded and when it cleared, the two were gone. All that was left was a note. The guard picked it up and read it. After he finished he crumpled it up and growled low, a deep rumbling sound that emitted from his chest. He threw the paper ball onto the ground and stormed off. |

Outside the city, far from the castle, within the forests, a sudden flash appeared out of nowhere, all animals fled from the strange phenomena as two figures appeared. Xavier closed his eyes for that moment, and as he opened them, to to his amazement, he saw nothing but trees, and bushs. he turned to face the princes, looking down. "What just happened? what did you do?" |

Delia shrugged and crawled over to a tree. She sat down under neath the branches and closed her eyes. "Just sleep. We'll be fine..." she murmured. Within minutes she had fallen asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning Delia awoke with sunlight streaming onto her face. For a moment she had forgotten what had happened the previous night and rolled onto her side. Something sharp poked into her side and she sat up. She looked around herself and realized she wasn't at home. Remembering the nights events, she looked around for the kind soul who had saved her life. |

Xavier leaped down in front of Delia, carrying a bag-full of berries from bushes he found nearby. "Morning, Princess" Xavier greeted, smiling to her, he stuffed his hand down the bag, grabing a small clutch of berries, varying different colors, and shapes. "Dont worry, they're not poisonous." |

Delia jumped a bit when Xavier jumped down in front of her. She nodded and took a berry. She sniffed it, then poked and prodded it. It seemed safe enough to eat... but she couldn't be sure. Sniffing it one last time, she popped it in her mouth and chewed. It was really good. "Thank you for saving me. And please, call me Delia. May I know the name of my savior?" she asked softly after she had finished the berry. |

Delia shrugged and looked at Xavier. "My father would kill me if he found out that I had been outside the palace... and that I had gotten hurt too," she murmured, looking away. She had a smile on her face when she looked back. "Plus, this way, I won't have to marry that ugly, pig-faced prince my father want's me too." |

The Ice Queen
|
The morning sunlight sought to pierce through the curtains covering the windows of the darkened room, as though intent on waking the bed's lone occupant with its warm, golden-white rays. Birds perched outside upon the balcony railing chirped their morning melodies before fluttering their wings and taking flight into the blue sky, soaring over the castle grounds and vanishing on the horizon over the rooftops of the town nearby. The young woman laying in the large bed rolled over slowly with a quiet yawn escaping her soft pink lips before her rounded green eyes slowly opened to view the dimly lit room. The candle at the nearby nightstand was burned out completely overnight, the wax stick melted down with the drippings hardened into a brittle solid over the base of the brass candlestick. During the daylight hours, however, the glow of its flame would do little in chasing the shadows away. There was a soft knock on the door to the young woman's bedchambers before the door quietly opened, revealing a lone maid servant who entered the room while speaking a quiet good morning to the golden-haired young woman laying in bed. After closing the door behind her, the tall middle-aged woman crossed the room to test the light that would filter in should the curtains be opened. Garbed in subdued tones of brown and gray, the woman had dark brown hair pulled back into a tight bun on the back of her head, her brown eyes stern but caring when the moment required such emotion. "Time to face the day, Your Highness," the woman said to the princess, pulling the curtains open and letting the bright sunlight flood into the room. "Your breakfast shall be up shortly, my lady. Your father thought it best you remain in bed after your...exertions in town last night." Ella, weary and pulled from the land of dreams, slowly say up in her bed, letting the blankets fall to her lap as she raised a slender hand to silence a yawn. "I cannot eat breakfast this morning with my sisters?" the young woman asked, her golden locks of hair tossled by sleep as silken chunks draped over one shoulder. As the maid secured each curtain to either side of the closed balcony doors, she replied simply. "The princess Amelia has a busy day ahead of her and must prepare. And though I do not wish you to worry, but Princess Cordelia was not found in her bed this morning. I hear there is a search in progress to locate her. I pray nothing terrible has happened." Ella's eyes widened as she clutched the material of her nightgown in one pale hand. "Delia is missing?" she asked, her soft voice twisted with concern. "Now, now, my lady," the maid said, coming to the princess' bedside. "Do not worry so. 'Tis bad for your health. The guards will find her, so keep yourself free from straining that heart of yours. After last night, 'tis likely you have other concerns that you must bear with if you wish to be well enough to attend the ceremony and the ball this evening." The young woman blinked at her and parted her lips to speak softly in protest. "But... I feel fine." Before her words could even vanish between them, the young woman's eyes closed and she sneezed softly, raising her hand to her face to silence it and effectively causing the sound to be reminiscent of a quiet, mousy squeak. The older woman smiled faintly and shook her head. "My lady, you know as well as I that the night air can easily make you ill. With your body, the wind always blows straight through you. I'll have some herbal tea sent up to keep your health in check. I know you would be saddened to miss the ceremony this evening," she explained quietly, handing the younger woman a handkerchief tucked into her sleeve. "A-Aye..." Ella stammered quietly, accepting the cloth and raising it to her face. The maid stepped away from the bed and crossed the room to a large, wooden wardrobe, opening the double doors to peer at the clothing within. "Though His Majesty the King wishes for you to remain in bed this afternoon, we still must plan for what you shall wear this evening to the ceremony." Ella smiled faintly as she dropped her hands into her lap. "You needn't worry about anything too special for me. I shall most likely be sitting by all night watching everyone else take part in the celebrations." "That may be so, Your Highness. But you are still your father's daughter and must look absolutely perfect for his guests, just as your own sisters will be expected to. I shall find you the right gown." Eleanor smiled faintly and looked down at the white blankets for a moment before her rounded green eyes shifted towards the balcony doors, her eyes squinting in the face of the bright sunlight flooding in, but the sight of the sky could not be mistaken, so blue and wide. Memories of the night before flashed through her mind, but part of her began to wonder if it all might have been some strange dream instead. Truly, she had no proof that any winged man did actually appear before her, masked and speaking at times in what she could only describe as odd riddles. However, even if it were not a dream, chances were she would never see such a man again, for even if he did return this night to steal one of her father's prized possessions, she would likely be safe here in her bed chambers, sent away from the ball to come early due to concerns for her health. She would be nowhere near her father's treasury or anything he had that was of value. As her maid spoke idly about the excitement over the preparations of the events to come that evening, Eleanor was barely paying attention, her thoughts focused on the view outside her windows as a pair of birds flew away into the sky. Like the man from last night, flying away to let his wings carry him wherever he pleased... Ella wondered what it was like to have such freedom within your reach. |

Vincent had awoken early, he had no maid, no nothing of leisure, only his stolen treasures. He stumbled out of his bed, smashing his head against a table as he tripped on a root as he tried to make is way through his little cave, he wasn't graceful in the least in the mornings. The guard he had kidnapped awoke from his slumber, at the noises made by Vincent. A few words were exchanged out of their morning grumpyness. But as the time passed and as both became fully awake they began talking, Vincent began asking questions of what should be going on at the castle that day, so he could best make his plan on how to enter the castle. "Well there is supposed to be a crowning ceremony for the eldest princess this evening, followed by a ball." "And I assume Miss Ella will be attending both of these." "Most likely" Vincent thought on this for a while, when it finally snapped in his mind. He had the perfect plan, it would allow him to enter the castle and for this guard to complete his guard duty, though some deals would have to be struck with him for the latter part of the night. He grabbed a lantern and placed an orb of angel fire inside, lighting the cavern more than it already was from his previous orb that was almost extinguished. He made his way to a large trunk and took off the lock. He opened it showing hundreds of fine clothings. Many of royalty of far off lands, all neatly folded inside the trunk. He took several pieces out comparing and combining several pieces of shirts, pants, coats, and tassles. Dressing so may gain him entrance to the crowning ceremony and the ball, but he would need to make himself a persona. Though this would not be hard for him, he was a skilled thief, creating faux persona's for himself was easy, he had done it hundreds of times before. He would need to choose a country, one unknown to this nation, a name for himself, and a status...though being a prince would be good enough. And he could pull it off, if he approached the king he would have to explain the reason for his long hair...seeing as how long hair for males in this country seemed to be a symbol of lower class. Though he was sure Miss Ella would recognize him instantly, he hoped she would not expose him as an imposter. But he would have to wait and see, if worse comes to worse he could fight any guards that came after him. Though...he never actually told Miss Ella he was a commoner, maybe she would believe it, she seemed naive enough, but the idea of actually having to trick a woman as well left a bitter taste in his mouth that he did not like, if he did so he would just be taking one step to being just as any other thief. He would just have to play it out, and wing it he figured. |

Delia sighed and nodded. "He is..." she spoke softly. She looked to the sky, her eyes sad. She looked back at Xavier with a fake happiness and spoke up, "I'll come up with a disguise... since almost everyone in town knows who I am..." With that she took her crown out of her pocket and set it on the ground beside her, staring at Xavier. She stood up and slipped her shoes off. |

The Ice Queen
|
After her breakfast, Eleanor rested upright in her bed for a time, her slender hands gently cradling a leather-bound book open before her, the pages handwritten by a wandering poet who had passed through this kingdom in the past, gifting her father with a book of his work after idle mention of its beauty. Unfortunately, the book had sat upon a shelf in her father's library for a great deal of time, the pages never opening for the eyes of a reader until she had gone there to take a stack of books for her room, for those days like these when she was confined to her bed. It was with a soft sigh that her green eyes had shifted away from the pages and gazed off towards the windows and the blue sky beyond. It seemed like such a beautiful day, and she was missing it all. Closing the book silently after setting a crimson ribbon in place to mark her page, Ella pulled back the thick covers of her bed and slid out, letting her bare feet silently hit the carpet. Standing unsteadily at first, keeping one hand atop the surface of the high white bed, the princess began to slowly walk through the room to her wardrobe, to dress herself out of her nightgown so she could wander from her room. Sniffling a few times, the young woman was glad that the herbal tea her maid had called up had soothed her body enough and eased whatever allergy had began to act up. If tonight was such an important night, she would hate for her health to hinder her and cause her to miss the excitement to come. Pulling a simple rust-colored gown from the wooden wardrobe, Ella dressed herself and made herself presentable enough to wander through the castle. Though the gown was not necessarily of a shade fitting for a princess, it was the dress she had favored when she bore the intent to wander through her gardens outside. Clinging to the subtle curves on her slender body, the gown's skirt was hardly as full as others she possessed, but flowed enough to offer plenty of room for each step, and with a square-cut neckline, high upon the collar area, the sleeves stretched down and fit her arms somewhat loosely, flowing down to her wrists without a cuff to secure them to her limbs. The material itself was thick, if not just a little coarse in its make, but it had no reason to be beautiful, if she used it merely to garden. Slipping on a pair of matching slippers after finishing her idle preparations for facing the day outside, Eleanor took her cane and left her room. Immediately, she was met with a pair of guards that insisted she remain in her room to rest that afternoon. Very gently, the young woman had to reassure the two men that she had felt perfectly fine, and that she wished to see her gardens for a bit, just to feel the warmth of the sunlight on her skin at least. The guards could only exchange a momentary glance, both uneasy with the idea it seemed, but the princess slowly began to walk away, with or without them. Naturally, the two followed without too much of a protest. Outside, the morning sunlight was warm against the young woman's body, and she took a moment to raise one arm to block the sunlight from her emerald eyes as she took in the sight of the blue sky, and the fluffy white clouds shifting slowly by the will of the subtle breeze in the air. She wandered for a bit, letting her slippered feet move silently over the stone paths leading throughout the castle's massive gardens. The scent of green was everywhere this morning, as were the scents of various flowers planted here and there to add an array of color. Whites and reds, oranges and yellows, blues and violets... On some days, the pollen was truly an overwhelming thing, and though many frowned upon her presence outdoors on those days, it still carried a beautiful scent. And the sight of the petals being blown about by the wind... Was it a romantic thing like the verses of the poetry she read within the small book in her room? And to think, she could only witness such a sight or enjoy the beauty of the day with two silent guards. As Ella bent over her blossoming gardens, tucking her golden locks behind her ears, she thought back to the night before, to the conversation she had with that man on the darkened streets within town. Vincent had been his name. As the guards standing nearby were inactive in any idle conversations she tried to initiate, Eleanor found herself somehow missing that time she had spent with the stranger. Were he here now, would he be able to amuse her with idle talk of various plantlife and the fragrances of flowers? Could he appreciate the beauty of a rose, or the simplicity of a velvety green leaf? The princess smiled as she dirtied her slender hands while tugging a few weeds free from the flower bed. Perhaps a man like that wouldn't talk of flowers and the like, but conversation in general would be a most welcome thing. And the lack of "My lady" or "Princess" and the like was...nice. She had never been acknowledged as anything other than royalty before. Was this the feeling that her sisters had sought for so long? A life without these attachments binding them down to a title? Ella was content enough with her life as royalty, but there was something about speaking to a stranger so casually, without him acknowledging her as someone...above him in status. Despite herself, and the fact that she knew better than to dream of such things, Ella began to entertain her mind that afternoon with thoughts of that stranger from the night before on the streets, and the things they might have talked about together were he here with her right now. |
