Vampire: Alice

Blood. The crimson line between beast and beauty. It is something that if used in the right way, can develop life. It is something that can drain the life of many innocent beings. The crimson liquid is addicting, something that can make or break you. Thats what Alice belives. Alice isnt the normal stereotype vampire. She has logical thinking and human feelings...because she used to be one. At eighteen she was the party girl, hanging out with the dark crowd and blowing her life away through cigarettes and soiling her stomach with loads of alchohol. All of this started at a party, her friends invited her to it. But what she didnt know is that her friends had been set up by a group of vampires to get a meal. At about midnight Alice looked around the party, seeing her usual friends all on the ground. She couldnt tell that they had been drained of their blood. When she was knocked against the wall she was expecting some silly fun. But feeling a burning pain in the side of her neck knocked her from her "fun". Screaming she was soon silenced by a blunt object to the head.

When she woke quite a few hours later she felt as if she were on some high. Moving to the corner she released all of her stomach contents onto the floor and then looked around at the death filled room. She ran from the house, even though she didnt realize that she was no longer a human. It took her quite a while to figure it out, when she felt no value to water or regular food and when she was hit by a truck, denting and cripling the front of it. She had realised that for some reason she was turned into a vampire. And now she was alone.

Over quite a few years Alice moved all around the world, trying to find a family of her own. Without any luck her search had lead her to England. She was thinking about settling down in a small town near the ocean for a while. Little did she know that she wasnt the only vampire around.

Alice sighed, standing on the top of the town's church. She knelt down at the edge, watching as the humans retreated into their homes for the night. Feeling the night wind blow through her red and black hair she moved her silver eyes over the horizon, seeing a few more people going into their homes and locking themselves in. The towns people used to never lock their dorrs, but quite a few years ago there was an upset when a young woman was found dead in her home with two bite marks on her neck. There was no blood at the scene and so they suspected vampires, even though at first people didnt believe. Even if they didnt believe, they took the precation and locked themselves into their homes and didnt let any strangers inside. As the wind blew her hair behind her once more the scent of blood filled her senses, making her shiver slightly. This addictive arouma was her weakness. Jumping from the roof she landed on the ground gently, stalking her way around houses, checking doors. Alice knew it wasnt smart to take a human, but their blood was the sweetest. Shaking her head she tried another door, feeling the knob turn all the way. She paused, her breath shallow as her instincts took over. Pushing the door silently open she slipped in quickly, so quick that not even a draft of cold air followed her. But something was wrong, the intense smell of tainted blood filled her nose and she looked around the home, noticing a crimson liquid at her feet. Kneeling down she dipped her finger in it, pulling it up to her tongue only to grimace. It was cold. Whoever lived in this house had been killed a while ago. Standing up she heard a growl and blinked a few times, thinking it was her own stomach. Taking a step back she was then lunged at by a white wolf. Alice let out a scream and ducked down, slipping on the blood and landing in it. The white wolf bounded through the door and made its way through the forest with a howl. Blinking a few times Alice stood, feeling the cold blood running down her arms and legs. Seeing a lanterns light from the side of the house she panicked, jumping up, slipping one last time on the blood before getting enough traction to run from the home, past the man with the lantern. He watched her run into the forest and then laughed slightly, shaking his head at the young looking woman. Then when he looked to the open door he held up his lantern to see what was left of a human body on the ground with blood and smear prints on the ground. He blew his whistle and the entire town was on high alert.

Alice flew through the trees, hitting a few of the hanging branches. Hearing some screams from the town she moved faster through the trees and over the over grown roots. She was getting closer to the ocean, smelling the salt. Making it out of the forest onto the beach she slowed to a stop, looked behind her before rushing to the water and submerging her hands into it. Getting as much blood off as possible she then washed off the blood from her legs. Looking at her self she noticed her entire front was red with blood. She groaned and jumped into the water, swimming out a few feet so she could wash the blood from her clothes. She dipped her head under and scrubbed her hair as well just incase some blood was in her hair. Alice swam back to shore and crawled onto the beach, shivering from the freezing water and the cold wind. Sitting in the sand she hugged her knees to her, her stomach growling. Alice hadnt had blood for a week now, her body was begininng to grow upset with her.

"Stupid wolf...I cant believe that mongrul got a meal and Im left with the town thinking Im a murderer..." She whispered as she pushed her wet hair behind her ear.

Lycan: Myre

Padding echoed on the ground as the white wolf made her way through the trees as a white blur. Tongue hanging from the side of her mouth only brought the sense of excitement to her run. As she continued she sped up and leapt from a large cliff, the wind blowing her fur as the full moon made her excited even further. A wide toothy smile came across her jaw, her tongue receding into her mouth again as she prepared for the landing she had to now make on the opposite side of the wide river she had just scaled across with a powerful jump. Getting closer to the ground she began to move her legs swiftly, as if she were running in mid air. When her first paw touched the ground her claws extended and she touched down with all four paws as she quickly ran across the beach of the large island, letting her legs slow gradually as she panted from the run. Looking back at the cliff she smirked, she was one of the only Lycans that knew how to scale that cliff and make it to the isle almost unharmed. Panting heavily she trotted slowly over to the water, lowering her head to take in some of the cold stream water. After she took her fill of water she walked into the cold stream and went for a quick swim to remove the blood from her white fur. Swimming back to shore she walked onto the shore and shook herself quickly, water flying in little droplets everywhere around her. Looking at the moon, her bright blue eyes seemed to glow as she then moved through the trees of the isle, now invisible to those across the way. At a jogging pace she continued through the trees until she got to a cave entrance, slipping through the close rocks as if she had no bones at all. Its what the Isle wolves learned to do ever since they were young. Squeezing through tight places saved their lives numberous times.

Hearing growls from deeper in the cave she knew that the boys were having their weekly arena fight. It was something that they always did. Sure it was barbaric, but it kept the Lycans in check with their own mind. Getting through the tight caves she padded out to see three full muscled and full grown Lycans fighting with one single male. She growled and pushed her way to the front. She emerged in her human form, which half of the crowd was already in, shouting for the fighters. "Knock it off!" She yelled as she pushed past the last few Lycan males to the front. The Lycans kept at it, trying to tear the poor male to pieces. She growled and ran at the group of them, hopping onto one of them and reaching over his face to his muzzle. Pulling his canines away from the male's body. Rolling over his skull while still holding onto his muzzle she shoved her foot into another's snout as hard as she could and then side swiped the third one in the mouth with her other foot. Touching her feet to the ground she let go of his muzzle and growled, her eyes cold. "Back off." She said calmly and the snarls from the other three calmed as they took a few steps back, starting to change back into their human form.

Growling she turned and knelt to the Lycan on the ground who was already in his human form and on the ground breathing heavily with himself lounged back on his elbows. "Are you alright?" She asked him as her pale hand went to his cheek which had a slight gash in it. When he nodded she smiled and nodded back. Standing up and turning swiftly on her heels she glare at the others, a growl echoeing from the pit of her stomach. "You bunch of animals! We allow you to have your arenas and then you not just double but triple gang on one single Lycan brother. And for what? Entertainment?!" She yelled as she glared around the room at the crowd. "If I see it again...It will be you who is hung from the trees for the humans to find..." She snarled at the three men who were standing in a semi circle now. "Inbred pack of we-"

"Thats enough Myre!" A males voice echoed high above all the noise in the room. Myre turned to see the alpha male walk out from the crowd, his green eyes and black hair shining as he smiled to her. "You are surely wriled up because of the moon. And its true this fight is prohibited...But its no use scaring these men with your canines..." He said as he walked to them, the crowd parting and keeping their heads low and their tails tucked. The three men bowed their heads to him, as did the male on the floor. He took Myre by the waist and whispered to her "I can keep most of them off your back, But it wouldnt be wise to make enemies here...besides, you know how it is for the new ones...they have to be initiated. This one turned out to be stronger than others...so they made it more of a challenge." He said as he then took a step from her.

"But Tyrin..." She started but was interupted by his growl. She growled back and tightened her fists as she took a step into his face, only to have him snarl and tighten his muscles. "Im not afraid of you Tyrin..." She growled at him. "To these men I am a woman who has an attitude, to you I am the closest thing you have to an alpha female...and I suggest you dont step over my boundries." She said as she quivered her lip and then turned from him, walking through the parted crowd into the many catacombs of caves that were used as thier homes. Making her way through the rocks she climbed the intensely harsh wall up to the catacombs located at the top where she had made her den. No other Lycans can climb up the wall, and if they can they dont. Those who have tried have all died from Myre splattering them on the rocks below. She wasnt one for intruders in her territory. Her growl was heard until she was deep within the catacomb, where the darkness was subsided eventually by a hole in the very top of the tall room which caused the moonlight to reach where she had her bed. Thunder sounded and there was a howl from the forest....Rain. The support of life.

Human: Avelyn

Moon flowers. They bloom at night when the moonlight is bright enough to be a somber sun. It was only in the deep forest where they were found, and that was where Avelyn was. Avelyn knew when these flowers bloomed and came to harvest them at the same time every month when it was warm enough for them to survive. She knew this precise time because when she was young she first discovered them. Devistated when they died during the winter Avelyn found her first seed while crying in the snow as a young child. The spring after that she planted the seed and from it came more flowers. Everytime they bloomed, some would die...and when they died, they left a seed as a remain. It was a neverending cycle in which she has continued for as long as she could remember. Now she was 18 and in the woods with the beautiful flowers, there were over a thousand of them now. She looked through the flowers as she stepped delicately through them, careful not to crush any of them. She grabbed a few seeds and put them in her pocket. Smiling she heard a roll of thunder and shot her ice blue eyes to the sky, rain beginining to fall through the trees onto her cream colored skin. She frowned as she looked at her flowers which were loving the rain already. If it rained too much they would drown. She let out a slight groan she danced her way through the flowers, making her way up the cliff, climbing the rocks of the cave in which she was in. The cave wasnt really a cave but more of a cavern. The flowers were in a stone globe with no top, that let the moonlight in. But it also let the trees drop seeds into it, which caused the few trees there now to grow into monsters, great, wooden beautiful monsters.

Glancing back at the flowers she blew them a kiss before crawling into the darkness which was the cave. Emerging at the outskirts of the woodlands she brushed herself off before taking a step forward, only to stop short. She heard swift movements through the trees and a few growls as well. Avelyn knew what it was that was running past her. She turned from the trees and ran from them, the haunting memories rolling through her mind like a horror movie. The clouds had covered the moon, creating a mask of dark ambience around her as she ran. After quite a while of running she had finally felt comfortable. If those were wolves, she wouldnt be able to cut through the trees of the forest to get home. She would have to go around. Walking along the tall grass field she shivered almost uncontrollably as she held her arms, her blonde hair starting to soak the rain up, making the wind nip at her scalp.

As she continued through the wet grass she was now soaked and chilled to the bone, her lips starting to turn blue and her shivers now effecting her breathing. Looking ahead through the pouring rain she saw what looked to be a dead tree. This would be a perfect shelter to stay out of the wind while she tried to wait out the rain. Avelyn hugged her arms tightly to herself and quickened her pace slightly as she got closer to the tree. Avelyn blinked a few times as she stopped, the wind and rain picking up and whipping her wet blonde hair behind her. She shivered as she closed her eyes as the wind continued. Avelyn shivered once more before moving to the tree's arched interior, the non fallen half serving as a great windbreaker. But the rain continued to drip from the dead limbs slowly onto her.

The small town was in an uproar, with torches and lanterns everywhere. The humans cried, yelled, and screamed as they stood in a crowd around the door of possibly one of their friends.

The fear that rolled off them was almost palpable, along with the rage that was infusing itself within them.

To the russet wolf that stood at the edge of town, still in the shadows, this was interesting. He padded a little closer, making sure to stay out of a majority of the light. If they were to look, they would see the golden eyes gleaming in reflection and the vague outline of a slender wolf.

Two of his canines were abnormally large, curving dangerously as they overlapped his bottom jaw slightly. The humans, were they to see him, would most definitely not be overly please with the idea of a wild wolf standing and watching them all, but he knew he could outrun them with ease if it came to that.

At the moment, the wolf lifted his muzzle slightly and took a deep breath. The tangy scent of blood washed over him, though there were undertones of vampire and wolf. The vampire was less than the wolf, indicating the bloodsucker had been there for a less amount of time than the wolf.

It was the wolf, of course, that more intrigued him at the moment. He had not run into many others and it was a surprise to find one at this time. Vampires were something that he scented everywhere, but the wolves...he supposed that the ones he ever saw were loners, like himself, and most were in packs.

He gave wonder to if this particular wolf belonged to a pack. And if it did, why would that pack allow it to kill a mortal?

Knowing that he was trespassing on pack land, he turned and left the town, though following the scent trail that the wolf had left. It was easy to follow, especially for one such as he with the excellent tracking abilities.

He hoped that this one led him to a pack. It would be interesting, if he lived past being found, to see how such a group could survive without detection.

A slight rain started to fall now, dampening his thick coat, but he did not stop, determined to follow the dwindling trail. It did not matter, of course, it only made it a little more difficult if the scent trail disappeared. From the scent, now that he had obtained it, he was also now tuned into that wolf. He did not know how it worked, but somehow, he had the essence of the thing and could follow it anywhere.

It had been an ability he had had when he was still human...tracking, but when he was bitten, it was only to discover that it was amplified.

Lucian growled gently as he loped onward at an easy pace, hoping either to find the wolf alone, or that the pack would not take him out as soon as they could.

===

"Lady Melantha, what a pleasure," came the slick drawl from the gentleman before her. He was greasy looking, though she supposed not hard on the eyes.

She did not like him, either way, however. He was yet another man that her father was placing before her to woo and win her. Not that her father would care much if she was won. Only if the man wanted her enough to give her father his name.

Melantha giggled, then gave an unladylike snort.

The man blinked at her and she grinned, "Oi, sir. Is wunnerful to meet you also!"

Only a few minutes later, the man excused himself from their dinner, mumbling something about forgetting something at the office and apologizing. No promises of a next time, nothing. Exactly what she wanted.

Later on, she was walking down the street, her light grey gown, full of cumbersome skirt, making soft swish noises on the cobblestones as she went. Large men followed her, swords at the ready if the woman should call for help. They were only there, however, truly to keep her from 'disappearing' one day.

The air smelled heavy with an incoming storm and she quickened her pace, knowing she would not wish to be caught in the pouring rain with all that fabric on.

Suddenly, she heard a gurgle from behind her, a frantic one at that, and she turned briefly to see what was happening.

Three of the guards were on the ground, shadowy forms hunched over them, while she watched the other one held up by the throat. The man who was holding him was slender and wiry with no looks of muscle on his bones, yet he held the larger man without so much as breaking a sweat.

Melantha's eyes widened as she saw this, but couldn't move as the attacker suddenly turned his eyes on her, appraising for a moment before a wicked smile slid onto his face. She blinked in horror as she saw the growing fangs exposed and then again as he, in a movement that she was not able to quite follow, dug those fangs into the guard's thick neck.

Backing away, she whimpered quietly, not quite knowing if she could scream or not. An instant later, she was sprinting as fast as her long legs could take her in those skirts.

The semi-large town ended and soon she was in woods. The panic that infested her brain did not give room for logic, such as the fact that inside her home would be the safest place for her now. Instead, she dove into the woods, her skirts quickly becoming only a tangled and tattered mess on her petite frame.

That was when the rain started, downpouring through even the thick canopy of the forest. The wind bit and tore at her as the rain bogged her down with its weight, but she kept striving through.

Time passed by, how much she was not sure for the moon was invisible behind the thick clouds of the sky. She knew, however, that she was far away from the cobbled streets in a place she knew not where.

That was the first instant in which exhaustion seeped at her limbs and hard beating heart. Soon enough, she stumbled and fell to the ground, her clothes now becoming dirty along with destroyed.

A sob tore from her throat as she struggled to stand once more, but found she could not. And with that, she laid down again where she was in the woods, ignored the pain that burned her muscles, and closed her eyes, curling up into herself, arms wrapped tightly around her knees.

Feeling the cool wind of the rainy weather calmed her. The thunder and flashes of lightning however, reminded her of when she was human. She used to be scared of thunder storms. She used to be afraid of many loud things when she was human, but now it was like she was much more powerful than any of the surrounding elements. A cocky attitude but so far nothing, or no one has pulled her from that fantasy. As she took a deep breath through her nose she shivered as she let out her breath, the rain sweeping into her den. Myre blinked a few times and growled slightly, changing into her wolf form and stretching out in her bed before shaking a few times. Yawning she shivered once more. It wasnt even winter yet and her Den was already becoming cold. At least she would have fresh water from the rain. Myre took another smell and caught an unfamiliar scent and sniffed around her den. It was coming from the hole at the top of her den, someone was in their territory and was pretty close. She heard a few snarls from some of her pack mates who were getting back to their fighting...if they caught the scent they would all become frenzied and attack blindly. Myre padded quickly through the tunnel and then jumped from the top of the wall and landed gently on the ground, continuing at her speed towards the entrance of the cave. She growled slightly as she passed some of the Lycans in the crowd, pushing passed them. Myre slid herself through the small opening of their cave and sniffed the air again, closing her eyes as she tried to find the scent. Moving her head from right to left slowly a few times she found the general direction in which he was at.

Growling she padded quickly towards the river and ran through it, swimming when the water got too deep. Getting to the other side she shook her fur almost dry and continued into the trees, growling as she started to track this wolf. Silencing herself she moved silently through the bushes and trees only making noise when she accidentally stepped on a small twig. Sniffing the air again she circled around a tree and saw him in the distance coming towards her position. Myre ducked back into the brush and moved towards him on the other side of the trees silently and stalk worthy. When he came closer and slowed a little she leapt from between two trees and from out of the bushes snarling. Myre tackled this wolf to the ground, not yet taking the offensive and attacking but letting him know that she was part of the near by pack. Myre stood and took a few steps back and growled at him, erecting her tail and showing her fangs. "Who are you and why are you here?" She asked as she opened her jaws slightly. Myre wasnt one for travelers, and she sure wasnt one for lone wolves who think that they rule the earth as they walk alone.

As a brisk wind blew from behind them towards the river she hoped that his scent wouldnt travel too much farther or he would be the alpha male's next meal.

The scent was getting more prevalent. Closer. He slowed minutely, eyes careful as they watched the path ahead of him. The wolf was very close. Somewhere within a hundred yards of him.

Then, a white form suddenly barreled out of the underbrush to his side and he was tackled. Within seconds, she was off him again and standing a few yards away, her body language aggressive.

For an instant, his lips lifted in a snarl and his eyes lit up with anger in response to her own. Then, thinking better of it and knowing that there was a possibility that the rest of the pack was on their way, he forced the snarl to stop, though his lips remained lifted and his eyes never left hers.

At her question, however, his lip formation shifted from aggressive to something close to a grin as he flicked an ear, regarding her for a moment.

"Who am I? Oh, would you not like to know. Many do, but few ever find out. What would cause me to believe that you are any different from any others who wish to know who I am? And as for my business...well, who knows that either? Certainly not me," he stated innocently, suddenly sitting his haunches down and tilting his head at her, the grin still in place.

Myre watched as he bared his fangs at her, an aggressive move and his growl made her shoulders roll back ready to attack him. But when he stopped his snarl she watched him carefully, his eyes and her ice blue hues never losing each other. When he answered her question with more of a taunt than an answer she watched him sit and she lowered the fierceness of her growl, wondering if he was truly as innocent as he tried to look. "Well whoever you are, you are trespassing..." She growled slightly as she let her shoulders relax slightly, not feeling the instinct to attack him. "There is an entire pack of Lycans just waiting to catch your scent back at the cave. If they realize you are here they will rip you to shreds..." She warned as her eyes concentrated on his. "Hopefully that wind didnt push your scent to the alpha male..." She said as she calmed her growl to silence. Myre's lips slid down her fangs more, only the tips of them showing now.

"I suggest you leave before someone else finds you..." She said as she then took a deep breath, the running and growling taking the wind from her.

He grinned wider as she also seemed to relax a bit after he sat down. She spoke of the fact that he was, indeed, trespassing and that the nearby pack would tear him to shreds if they were to realize he was here.

Lucian tilted his head at that and blinked at her with his warm golden orbs, now more curious, "And if you are a part of this pack, what reason would you have to warn me?" He shook his head swiftly after, indicating she needed not answer that. He stood again and stretched casually before standing tall and looking at her appraisingly.

Another smile stretched across his maw, "Well, if you must know, I was following someone. Someone who recently left the town back there. Someone I believe I just found," he said with a playful wink before going on, "You were lucky the rain came. Anyone else and your scent would have been gone."

He fell quiet for a moment, looking in the direction where he assumed the den of the wolves to be. Again, there was that curiosity that burned him, wondering what that would be like to live among your own kind. Without pretending.

Shaking his head sharply, he looked to the fae again, another smile slipping onto his face, "I suppose I should take your kind warning and go, my lady, but would you agree to give me your name in exchange for my own before I disappear for the time being?"

The Champion of Vengence
Thatcher shook his black fur as the rain started. Blowing water droplets from his snout.
"Bloody rain. He growls shaking his head. I've been in this stinking country too long I'm beginning to talk like these Brits." He shakes more rain from his fur and leaves the little outcrop he was sitting on and disappears into the underbrush. He moves quickly through the bushes sniffing for any food. since he's wandered into this mountain country he hasn't found a scrap of food. It could be that the pack that inhabits it kills everything and stockpiles it or he's losing his touch. Either way he's in a bad place, putting his nose to the dirt for the thousandth time this day he sniffs hoping for a scent. He caught some but mostly the Alpha male and his pack but this time he caught another. A new Were a male a little older then he. Well, well if all else fails maybe that pack will kill him and leave some scraps. He thinks then stops and shakes his head. Great no I'm thinking about being a cannibal. That's some level of hunger. He turns away from the Lycan smells and drifts toward town. He knew it was a dangerous in this form but he was kinda lucky to look like a big dog more then a wolf. And he knew better then to change into his Lycan form with humans around and he couldn't turn into a human because all his stuff was stashed in a cave way back in the hills and he was too hungry too trek all the way there and back. Slipping carefully into town he pads through the streets looking for some kind of food. It appears all the humans were out chasing something.

The streets were clear much to the joy of the young Wolf. Sniffing around he finds a bin outside the butcher shop it was where he dumped the blood and extra stuff he couldn't sell. It looked like something a cat coughed up but hungry beggars can't be choosers. Dunking his head in he begins sloping up the food. Once he's drained the bin he sits down and begins licking his muzzle to get any leftover morsels. He suddenly heard footsteps and before he could run three men armed with scythe were in front of him.
"Here's that rotty beast get 'em!" Some more men arrive and he growls bolting off they take chase. Picking up his speed he ducks into some cover but the raging humans soon find him. They run the poor beast around the town he soon finds himself back where he started. With the mob closing in he makes a quick decision and runs into the nearest house. A large fancy looking place and hopefully empty.

Sitting at the window of her Aunt's country house a young woman watching the rain drops from the roof onto the patio. She's come to visit her Aunt and Uncle for the week. More to get her to experience something new aside from her books and studies. Things she thought all young ladies should be interested in but her parents had other ideas. They said she should be more rounded and some time in the country would show her the other side of society the one she'll have to guide and educate. Which quite frankly made little sense to the girl but her parents were the two people she couldn't get to change their minds. Course she doesn't normally try to change full Vampire's views because they can spin the most innate detail into a complete argument. Luckily her tricks usually worked on young men and other mortals. ON this dreary of days she was leafing through some of Shakespeare when a ruckus broke her thought and made her look out the window into the street. The villagers had formed a mob and were chasing some poor creature out of town. she shivered at the mere sound of the whistle she'd heard it so many times back in London that it sometimes haunted her dreams. She'd thought she was safe from the insanity of the Witch Hunts, especially when her Aunt and Uncle Vampires themselves pretty much ruled this town.

She tried to look back at the book but something large and furry slunk around the Butcher's shop. She shivered again with the humans gone you'd expect some sneaky scavengers to arrive and take advantage to humanity's goods. She'd seen wolves and wildcats scamper around town looking for meals but this beast was different. He seemed smarter then most more cautious. She watched the odd animal disappear down an alley and assumed he found the Butcher's slop bin or something. He didn't reappear for many minutes until some men returning early from the mob caught him. She couldn't hear or really see anything going on but the body language she did see told as much. And it was proven once they called for reinforcements and chased the wolf away. She lost track of them from the bottom floor so she ran upstairs and looked out the balcony window. Until they went too far into the wilderness sitting herself down watching for them to return she began to doze a little and she didn't see the wolf return and bolt for her door.

Lycan: Myre

His first question she was about to answer but he shook his head meaning it was basically rhetorical. But that question plagued her mind for a few moments...Why did she come to warn him? Maybe it was because she knew what it was like to be a straggler? With no home, no food and no pack to stay warm with when the weather becomes unforgiving? Sure, thats why. She hoped. Myre wasnt a social person but she also didnt like to see innocent blood spilled. It wasnt in her own nature, both human and Lycan, to let wrong deeds go unpunished and lost souls go without warning. When the wolf stood she tightened her muscles slightly as she wasnt paying attention to his body movements as she was lost in thought. She was a defensive being, and being so has continued her life thus far. When she saw that he only stretched and stood still she calmed her muscles and twitched her right ear a few times as a way to give a slight apology for her jumpiness.

When he spoke about the scent that he had been following she arched an eyebrow wondering why he was following her at all. A quick meal? I cautious traveler? A hungry beast? A driven MALE? She began to wonder why indeed he had followed her through the rain when he could have been killed by her pack. When he took a gander towards the caves in which their den was located she couldnt help but be slightly suspicious, if he did see someone coming or caught their scent then wouldnt he flee? As he shook his head once more she tilted her head slightly as she wondered what exactly he was thinking. Something to do with the pack no doubt.

The wind had betrayed Myre, her hopes of the scent just straying away from the pack vanished as his scent made its way through the angry Lycans and to the alpha male. The male growled and began to make his way towards the scent which had Myre's trail along with it.

When he looked back to her and smiled once more she twitched her ear again, as he asked for her name she blinked a few times. No wolf, nor Lycan for that matter had cared for her name unless it was for his own personal gain. But he was speaking of an exchange and then a parting. This was strage. He wasnt like other wolves, he was different. Myre became curious about this male and twitched her ears and put on a slight smile, changing into her human based form and nodding to him. "My name is Myre..." She spoke as she smiled. Thats when she heard it, a fierce howl coming from the entrance of the cave. She looked over to the him and then towards the cave as she saw Tyrin and others following with snarls.

When they got closer Myre stepped forward, infront of the trespasser. "Tyrin, I am handling it. There is no need to spill any blood here. He has agreed to leave..." She said as she looked at the pack of wolves growling behind him as they came to a stop infront of Myre. When Tyrin paid no mind to her words she growled and shoved his arm "Did you hear me you big brute? I said I he agre-" She was interupted by a swift claw to the shoulder, the blow catching her off guard and knocking her to the ground and onto her back. She yelped upon contact and held the deep gashes tightly as they began to release blood.

"I am tired of you trying to interfere. I warned you Myre...And I wont hesitate to ban you from this clan. You dont have any respect for me and you sure as hell dont have any authori-" He was interuped as he was tackled to the ground by Myre's pale form. She grolwed as her eyes became feirce, a glare escaping them and drowning Tyrin. She rose her hand into the air, her claws gleaming as a lightning bolt flashed. With a yell she swung her hand down but he grabbed her wrist, placed his other hand onto her stomach and flipped her over his head onto the ground. He growled and got to his knees, only to be bitten on the shoulder by Myre's white furred jaws. Sinking her teeth into his shoulder she snarled and pulled at his flesh in a jerking manner. He elbowed her in the ribs until she let go.

Myre winced and growled as she took a step back, the short blink she had was enough time for him to leap at her and entangle his fangs in her fur, his black fur contrasting with her figure. Myre yelped and bit his neck while pawing at his eyes, her claws catching one and making him let go. Myre shook a few times before standing stifly, her white tail straight in the air and the hairs from the nape of her neck to the tip of her tail were standing on end. She had her jaws open as she growled, her white fangs having crimson dripping from them. Tyrin growled as he stood the same way as Myre, except trying to make himself look bigger by holding out his chest. Tyrin took a step forward and Myre snapped at his leg with a lighting quick reflex. This set off his instincts and he leapt into the air, flying at her. Myre moved from under him and snapped at him again. Tyrin touched the ground and tackled Myre the two of them yelping and snarling as they snapped and bit one another. Their furs were soon wet with blood as the both of them gave bloody blows to the other. The two of their bodies wrestled back and forth, the only way of telling them apart in this quick battle was the utter opposites of their furs.

After a few minutes of this fierce rumble they were again at the same standoff position, Myre's white fur now mostly red and pink. She snarled even though her body shook, screaming for her to give up. Tyrin snarled again before taking a deep breath "Why are you still here, LEAVE!" He shouted at the lone wolf. Myre whipped around "STAY!" She yelled, spinning back to witness Tyrin's Lycan form coming at her. She snarled but was no match for his brute strength, getting picked up and thrown against the trees. He snarled once more at her before letting out a fierce bellow at her. Myre didnt get up. Tyrin turned, shifting back into his human form, gashes and blood all over his body. "I suggest you beat it mongrul...Because if you dont...You'll wind up like her." He said as he pointed to Myre who was now on her feet and growling. She moved herself swiftly but shakily infront of the male in which she had just protected. Tyrin growled, his form sinking back into his human form. "You had better be right about this guy Myre. Or its you who is banished first..." He growled as he glared at the male "I expect your respect if you are around my territory...Welp..." He growled and turned around, leaving with a limp along with the other Lycans who were still growling, angry because they didnt get to have a fight.

Myre kept growling until they were out of her line of view and then she winced, her eyes closing and her body collapsing onto the ground. She struggled to try and stand but failed, but she accomplished being able to sit slightly. Although she was quite bent over, blood dripping from her legs and torso. "I...never got your name..." She laughed slightly.

Thatch jumps through the door and kicks it shut his claws clatter on the floor as he panics looking for some place to hide.
"Ah hell, ah hell, ah hell. Where can a wolf hide in this place!" His mad running awoke the girl upstairs. Fearing some kind of Prowler she grabbed one of her uncles hard wood cane and crept down. Thatch was still pacing the house looking for a good hiding spot. Finding it nothing more then a lost dog the girl walks confidently down and says.
"You know good dogs know better then to run into a stranger's home." Thatch too absorbed in his panic talks to the girl instead of playing the dumb dog.
"Yeah I'm sure but when the dog is being chased by a bunch of crazy humans he tends to screw the rules... I mean woof." He stops trying to recover by wagging his tail like a normal dog. Haley crosses her arms and looks at the Were.
"Well that explains why you don't smell like wet dog." He hears the humans pound on the door.
"Can you just suck my blood now so they think I'm dead and go away."
"How do you know I'm a Vampire? They pound harder. Just play along." She opens the door and steps back as they rush in and corner Thatch.
"Stand back Ms. Edmund he's a savage beast and we don't want you to get hurt." She parts them and goes to Thatch and hugs him around the neck.
"You mean Fluffy? He's no savage beast he's our pet." The man at the head of the mob looks confused between her and the beast.
"Sorry Miss a wolf just killed someone in town and we found him with blood around his muzzle and he looked like a wolf to us." She smiles standing and keeping her hand on Thatch's head.
"Well he's part wolf, Auntie wanted something loyal and would shock any crook with just his looks so a friend of the family sold us him. As for the blood that means he was in the Butcher's waste bin again. Which is very bad because our servants fed him this morning." She pokes the Were who cringes back a little.

The man nods motioning everyone out.
"Sorry Miss Edmund no hard feelings right?" The girls smiles nodding.
"Yes no hard feelings in fact Uncle might reward you all for being so vigilant in the defense of our little town. Now get out of the rain before you all catch cold whatever attacked won't have the guts to return with you all around farewell." As the last man leaves she closes the door and turns looking at the wolf. He narrows his eyes at her and says.
"Fluffy that's the best you could come up with?" She shrugs sitting on the sofa.
"Hey I only had a few seconds to think what was I supposed to do?" He growls sitting in front of her.
"Bah Rover or Fido would've been better."
"Well sorry but instead of guessing names why don't we give our real ones. I'm Haley Edmund." She puts her hand out to him. He puts his paw in her hand and shakes.
"Thatcher Adams nice to meet you." She smiles patting his paw.
"Good boy does doggy want a treat?" He pulls his paw back and growls.
"Watch yourself Vamp doggy can turn into a real wolf real soon." She smiles leaning back.
"Sorry I couldn't help myself so you're a Werewolf I got that but I can't place what kind that's definitely not a European accent.

He sniffs walking around the large sitting room sniffing various thing and pawing at others.
"Astute reasoning girlie I'm an American."
"An American Werewolf?"
"Yes I'm an American Werewolf in London." He jumps back as an old little toy monkey begins slapping little cymbals together moving back to the girl eh sits down again looking at her.
"But we're not in London." Thatch looks up from scratching his ears.
"Wait! What! Then where the hell am I?!" Haley giggles a little
"We're in Aston silly boy." He sighs dropping his head.
"I hate this place." She smiles standing up and going over to him.
"Oh Thatcher it's not so bad once you get used to it."
"I've been here for three years still don't like it." She smiles patting his neck.
"I'm sorry for that but come on let's get you dry before you get sick." She walks to the linen closet followed by the Yank. Opening the door she drops some towels on the floor in front of him then stands back looking at him expectedly. He sits in his wolf form looking at her with a raised eyebrow. She points to the towels.
"Well dry yourself off."
"If you haven't noticed I'm a wolf and paws aren't good for gripping things.
"Well change into you're human form and dry off."
"I'm naked right now so if I change into my human form you'll have to pay me or we do it right on the floor now." She gasps shaking her head.
"So crude honestly you Americans."
"Hey this is the longest I've been in a civilized house since I've been here. Plus having a nude man in your house while your Aunt and Uncle aren't home might incite some scandal." She sighs kneeling down and picking up a towel and begins drying the wolf off.
"Very good point just sit still then we'll figure out what to do with you." He nods sitting perfectly still with his head up high.

He had honestly been meaning to leave as soon as she gave him her name. Myre. That was it.

But he had not anticipated that the wind would betray him so.

When the approached, a snarling mass of wolves, his lips twitched with the temptation of returning the snarl. He, however, forced himself to simply stand and look at them all as coolly as possible.

What he had not anticipated at all was the fact that Myre and the apparent alpha male would fight. That she would actually fight for him after only knowing him for such a short period of moments.

His muscles ached as he watched, the restraint it took to keep himself from tearing the brute off her, but he made sure to stay still. If he moved, the pack would be on him in an instant and no help would be given to Myre. And it seemed as if this was what was expected. The other wolves did not interfere in the battle, so neither did he.

The alpha's last words confused him, but he was quickly distracted by Myre collapsing as soon as the wolves were gone. He moved toward her, though his lips turned up into a tiny smile as she quietly reminded him that she had never recieved his name in turn.

"Lucian, dear one. My name is Lucian," he murmured as he nudged her side a bit, "Now, where are the deepest cuts? The least I can do is help clean them. After all, I was the reason, was I not?" He winced at bit at this, but glanced at her imploringly, hoping she did not deprive him of at least helping her.

Lycan: Myre

Myre listened to his name and curled a smile on her lips, his nudge making her slightly thoughtful "Well Lucian...It wasnt all your fault. That brute and I had been edging each other on for months now...It was bound to happen." She said as she winced slightly, turning her head to her gashed shoulder which had started the fight and began to lick the wound.
Myre whined slightly as she continued to lick it and then stopped to look at him. "It feels like my back is bleeding pretty bad..." She said as she lowered her tail slightly, slightly embarrassed about having him help. But it would be for the better and he insisted. She concentrated on her shoulder again, making sure to get all of the deeper gashes on her shoulder before licking the wounds on her front legs which were also bleeding.
Myre continued licking her leg as she then started to think about what would happen if she returned alone to the cave. Would all of this be for nothing? But if Lucian came with her, then would there be a deep fiery hatred between him and the other males in the pack? This was something that she would have to think about before she even thought about returning with or without him.

Nathan Ferryll sighed as he walked along the beach, his bare feet leaving deep imprints in the sand. He was wearing little, very little, for he had just reverted back to his more human self. Nearly nothing remained of his clothing but ribbons. He had tried sneaking into a farm by night, trying to take a lamb or a pig for a meal, but he was only able to sat his thirst and hunger lightly before the farm owner appeared with a shotgun, leaving a patch of scar tissue on Nathan's left shoulder blade, scar tissue that would likely disappear as well.

As he walked, his keen sensed picked up the smell of a woman who has been running and swimming for her life. Not human, but not an animal either. The burly Scott came across a comparably petite woman in her teens, it seemed. But her scent could easily prove that analyses wrong. She smelled of a Nocturnal predator, a vampire. Approaching where the girl sat, he padded closer and closer, using the sounds of the ocean to conceal his movements, until he was right behind her.

"Y'know lassie... It is a might dangerous fer ye t' be swimmin' 'round al willy-nilly. Y'never know if some predator might be on th' prowl."
And then they murdered the whole world....

Vampire: Alice

Alice had been sitting at the beach for some time, nothing passing her or making her senses flicker. But a sudden scent came into the area and she tensed up, ready to escape if need be. When the voice sounded behind her she stayed still, not flinching at all even though he tried to sneak up on her.
"Do you think that I would be out here if I wasnt aware of the dangers?" She said quietly as she glanced up at him, seeing a much larger man than she thought. "But of course, Im no young lass either. I can take care of myself thank you very much." She said as she then disappeared from where she was sitting and appeared standing a few feet away from him, her sharp eyes like daggers into his own.

Blood. His immortal downfall yet one temptation.

His own was warring with itself. With that need and that thing that he so clung to.

He watched the woman for a moment, his black hair becoming plastered to his head and clothes sagging heavily on his shoulders. He had just followed her from the city, only after making sure those monsters were not following.

He himself was a monster, though he tried not to be. It was hard enough needing the blood, but to openly kill in front of innocents? That was simple blasphemy, in his eyes.

Altan closed those brilliant blue orbs for a moment as he centered himself before stepping out and shedding his blending power. If Melantha had bothered to look up, she would have seen him.

He approached slowly, not to refrain from scaring her, but to keep himself in check from doing anything brash. The blood that seeped from the cuts and scrapes that adorned her arms and face called to him, but it was a call he had to shoot down.

He crouched down and stayed that way for a moment before reaching out and lifting her up easily. She was so tiny and light, making it even easier for the vampire.

After a moment, he lifted his face to the quiet wind that intermittently broke through the downpour of rain and scented another human nearby. A human. Thank whatever gods there were that it was a human.

His feet moved swiftly as he deftly dodged the trees, making his way toward the human girl he was scenting.

---

She didn't hear anyone approach. Yet, she most likely was in no state to be paying attention to that sort of thing. The next thing she was aware of was being lifted up and of an almost imperceptible idea of movement.

The wind and rain were the only giveaways that she was, indeed, being taken somewhere.

She groaned quietly, opening her dark eyes to stare up at the face that was so intently focused elsewhere.

It was a man who...who...she knew him. She reached a hand up and placed it on his cheek. She knew this man...but...not from where. She could not place him.

He seemed not to react to the touch, only doggedly continuing on to wherever he was going.

Then, quiet abruptly, he slowed to a more human mode of walking, every step felt and the up and down motion evident. What had just happened?

Then she was being set down and she glanced around to see a blond woman hiding in the hole of a tree.

"Help her, please?" the man asked and Melantha quickly turned back to him.

"What? Where...? Where are you going?"

He gave a sad smile to her and she again had the strong feeling that she knew him. He did not speak, however, merely turning away and starting back into the forest.

"Wait!" she cried suddenly, and he paused, turning to glance back at her, "I know you. Why do I know you?"

Again, that sad smile, and then he was gone. As if the forest had swallowed him up and leaving no trace.

"Who...?"

She shook her head sharply, clearing all of the daze from her mind, and looked around frantically. She was in the middle of a wood, nowhere that she knew of, with no one around her--

Wait.

Turning quickly, she looked to the blond girl with her dark eyes narrowed, "Who are you?"

Lucian gave a small smile as she excused him of blame, though he still felt guilty about the whole occurrence. It was not as if he had /had/ to follow her scent. It had merely been curiosity getting the better of him. If he had not allowed it to control him, he would be somewhere else by now, with no worries of the fae having been attacked.

He padded around her to examine her back. Wincing a bit as he saw the deep gashes, he started cleaning them gently, clearing away the blood and dirt that were starting to clog the cuts.

After they were clean, and after a considerable amount of silence, he stood and padded back around to her front, watching her, "Now, I suppose I am a bit confused as to what just happened. Was I just informed that I was a part of your pack, or was I simply told that I was allowed on your land as long as I respect all of you?"

He tilted his head to the side slightly, his ear flicking a bit in consternation as he looked at her, his golden eyes expectant.

Lycan: Myre

Myre continued to lick her other wounds quickly as he started on her back. Even though she knew he was trying to be gentle she winced, the gashes on her back giving her unbelievable pain, the bruise that was starting to appear under the skin hurt her much more. She whined a few times as she licked at her back hip, cleaning it as well.
When he stopped licking her back wounds she watched him with her eyes as he moved infront of her and asked her about what Tyrin had said. She stopped and looked at him, blinking a few times. "Im not quite sure. I dont think he feels threatened by you...so maybe you are to be considered? Tyrin may be a brute but he wouldnt turn a lone wolf away..." She said as she twitched her own ear, an itch bothering her as she tried to talk. "I would suspect that either would be fine though...." She said as she growled slightly, leaning down and back so she could scratch at her ear with her back claws quickly but gently. After the itch she turned back to him and shook herself a few times, wincing as she felt pain all over her wounds...her Lycan blood beginning to heal them slowly.
Myre tilted her head to the side slightly "What do you plan on doing? You asked for an exchange of names and you got it...But now that the alpha male of the pack is slightly alright with your scent...what now?" She asked as she blinked a few times.

Human: Avelyn

Avelyn was almost out cold as she was sitting shivering in the cold rain for a few hours now. She had suspected that the wolves had gone but because she was sitting against the tree for so long in the cold she couldnt seem to move her legs. Closing her eyes she hugged her arms tightly to her body, shivering almost violently. Pulling her head down towards her knees she shivered for quite a while more before she heard a voice. It was a male's voice, a calm one. It was very withheld.
When Avelyn looked up she blinked a few times, the water running down her face blurring her vision as it ran into her eyes. Seeing a man and a woman a few feet from her she opened her mouth to speak but couldnt. When the man began to leave and the girl called out to him with no hope of return form the man Avelyn watched the female. When she shook her head frantically Avelyn blinked a few more times and then saw her whip around to look at her. As he asked who she was with a narrowing of her eyes Avelyn shivered and opened her mouth once more, "A v...v..v...v...vely...y...y..n...n..." She said in a confusing shiver. She tightened her grip on herself and forced herself to stop shivering. "A..v..velyn." She said as she looked at the girl. "W..Who are you?" She asked as she shivered in another violent burst.

Lucian grinned as she stated that Tyrin felt no threat from him. The alpha probably wouldn't. His slender form looked nothing of the fighting type. He could most certainly put up a decent one, but his talents were strictly in the field of tracking.

He glanced away as she asked what he planned on doing. Honestly, he was not sure. Did he really want to be in a pack such as this? Or was this how they all were? Was there any civility in them?

Lucian looked back to her before shrugging, "I...do not know what to decide. I have never before been in a pack, so all I have experienced of them is what I just witnessed, which was a pack of bloodthirsty wolves without an ounce of remembrance of what it means to be a human being."

He paused before shaking his head, "But, then again, I suppose that /is/ coming from a wolf who does not know them. If you tell me my impressions are wrong, I shall gladly follow you back to them and attempt to gain a place among them. Otherwise, I may linger about the area, but I shall never again bother them."

===

Melantha blinked at the girl as she shivered out an answer. And she thought /she/ was a mess. She supposed the running and adrenaline had warmed her enough to fend off the encroaching cold that would soon result from her bogged down skirts and the ever present rainfall.

"Well, Avelyn. I am Melantha. And I..." she had been about to ask for the nearest town. The nearest way to get back home.

But...this was freedom. This was her one chance to get away. A chance to live a life unsupervised by her greedy father. A time to not be beaten for attempting to do what was right by your own heart.

That meant her safety was gone, though. Not that it ever was there to begin with, she reminded herself as she thought back to the vampires at the bodyguards. A small shudder of revulsion ran through her frame before she refocused on the girl. Melantha was /not/ going back.

"I suppose we should get out of the rain. Do you have a home you would be willing to give shelter to a stranger with or is you not having one the reason you are sitting here? If that is the case, I shall help you to the nearest town where we may find lodgings."

She looked now to Avelyn hopefully. Would this girl end up being her first friend in her freedom or her first enemy? She could not tell, but she hoped it was the first option. Otherwise, she would be quite alone in this new world.

Lycan: Myre

Myre listened to him and titled her ehad slightly, thinking about how beastly her pack really was. She knew they had their ups and downs, but how would Lucian take it. "I cant tell you that they are completely different. But think about his if you will, they came running because they could smell your scent but also mine. It was more protection then violence..." She said as she twitched her right ear a few times "But what I will tell you is that most of them dont remember being human...because they never were. Most of them are pure bred Lycans... Im the only female who was once human...and most of those who used to be humans are either broken or always out and about..." Myre said as she padded over to him, nudging him slightly "I wont lie to you and tell you that we are all one big happy family...But I can assure you that once they warm up to you...you will see that they arent so bad..." She said as she smiled slightly "If you decide to stay of course." Myre let out a quiet and playful growl.

Human: Avelyn

She nodded slightly to her "I live just through the woods..." She said as she looked her in the eyes. "I have a home which is quite large. I wouldnt mind having company..." She said as she smiled a little. "The reason why I came here was because on my return home I heard wolves running through the forest. So I hoped to hide here and tried to get out of the rain...But I guess it only worked half as well as I would have liked." She gave a weak laugh.
"If you wouldnt mind helping me walk through this weather and through the trees...then we could indeed get warm at my home." Avelyn said as she pushed her wet hair behind her ear and tried to stand but failed and slid back down in the mud that had been wallowing below her. "I guess that Ive been sitting here for too long..."

Lucian listened to her attentively, the way she described them making them seem less horrible than he had first imagined. Not all of them had been born human, which would explain the animalism, yet for those who were born lycan, they actually possessed themselves quite well.

He had to admit, it was not nearly as bad as it could be. He smiled back at her as she gave the playful growl, his eyes expressing the humor also, "I suppose I could give the whole 'pack' idea a try. We are still allowed to socialize with the humans, correct? I mean, I would absolutely hate being so tied down to only one group."

He winked at her before nudging her back before sitting back on his haunches and grinning.

---

Melantha smiled brightly, "Oh, good." She wondered why the girl had a large house all to herself, but quickly wrote the questions off as the wolves were mentioned. Melantha glanced around nervously, "The wolves are gone now, correct?"

At Avelyn's request to be helped in walking, Melantha staggered to a wobbly standing position before reaching down and pulling Avelyn up beside her. Leaning on the girl, Melantha smiled, "I'm not in my best condition, either, unfortunately. I'm sure we shall make it back, though. No worries."

'Except for bloodsuckers and rabid animals,' she added to herself.

Human: Avelyn

Avelyn winced as she was pulled to a standing position and then laughed as she mentioned that she wasnt in the best condition either. "I guess that we survive if each other survive." she said with a slightly laugh as she headed towards the woods. "From what I know they are gone...I havent heard any for quite a while...but dozing in and out doesnt help with listening." Avelyn said as she continued on, putting her arm around Melantha's waist to help support the both of them.
"I hope that the wolves have gone...I dont think we would be able to escape them..." She laughed slightly, even though it was quite a morbid thought.

Lycan: Myre

Myre listened to his words and couldnt help but smile slightly, his agreement to try the pack life. But when he spoke about socializing with humans she blinked at him a few times wondering if he was actually serious. "Humans? The ones who completely despise and want to kill us..." She arched an eyebrow and shook her head. "They are so selfish, thinking that they are the highest form of life in the world..." She growled slightly as she closed her eyes and shook her head, growling a bit before stopping herself. "Sorry...But after living alone as an outcast both as a human and a new Lycan all those years ago...things have changed for my perspective on humans..." She took a step backwards and sat down.
Myre looked at him, swaying her tail back and forth slightly "But if you get along with them, and you dont lead them here...then I dont see a problem with it." She said as she twitched her ear slightly. Her playful growl returned as she smirked and looked at him. "So Lucian...What brought you here in the first place?"

Melantha's eyebrows drew down at the girl's morbid idea of humor, but did not comment on it, merely pushing forward toward where Avelyn had started walking.

"What town is nearest to your home, if I may ask?" she questioned quietly, "I am afraid I was not paying attention to how far I came." She gave a tiny smile before letting her eyes flicker around where they were.

She thought she saw movement to her left, but after a moment, nothing revealed itself and she shook her head slightly. She was slowly going insane.

First of all, she thought she had seen men drinking her guards' blood. If that was not insanity (she forced herself not to think of what it would mean if she was /not/ insane) then she did not know what was. Second, she remembered a man lifting her up and walking--no, gliding through the forest at a speed no human could have without tripping and stumbling at least a few times. And third, now she thought she was seeing things. She got the feeling that someone was following, but that was nothing new for her.

The feeling of being followed had crept up on her years ago and she had learned to ignore it as nothing bad had happened to her. Nothing bad had happened until earlier this evening, that is. Maybe that was why she was suddenly acutely aware of it, her senses pushed in overdrive at the thought of wolves being nearby and the not-quite-banished memory of the vampires.

'Insane,' she thought to herself as they pressed on, turning her attention solely to what Avelyn would answer.

Altan watched as the human girl, who had introduced herself as Avelyn, agreed to take Melantha in. He gave a small sigh of relief, glad to know that there were still humans in this world that would give aid.

He did not get too close, for once when he did, Melantha seemed to see the movement, turning sharply to watch for it. He had stood stock still for a moment as they pressed onward, only moving again when he was sure that there was no possible way of detection.

Confusion overtook him for a moment as he followed in silence. No one could see him, though. Not when he was blending. So how had Melantha seen him? He...must have been imagining things.

With a nod of agreement to that thought, he continued following like a shadow, no trace of him as he was using his ability.

===

Lucian raised his eyebrows at Myre's harsh words about the humans. He gave an understanding smile as she apologized before tilting his head, "How long has it been since you've allowed yourself to try the company of humans? As far as I have experienced, they are quite open to you if you are open to them."

He grinned, but shook his head quickly, proceeding to answer her question instead of waiting for her to answer his, again letting her know that there was no need for her to answer his ramblings, "As for why I am here...well, that would be a tricky question, would it not? I suppose I am here because my paws took me this way. I got bored in the last place I stayed and felt the need to travel and find something new and exciting."

His maw lifted in a wider grin as he winked a golden eye at her, "I am pretty positive that I've found something."

The Champion of Vengence
Haley finished drying Thatcher off and went off to find some food for him. He meandered his way to the foyer and sat looking out the window. His ears perked as she returned with a metal bowl of chicken and a black studded collar. Raising his eyebrows he says backing up a little.
"What's with the slave band there?" She sighs putting the bowl down in front of him.
"Cool your paws it'll only be if you go outside or my Aunt and Uncle are home. He bites through the chicken looking at her with narrow eyes. She simply smiles tying it to her wrist. Unless you want the Villagers to know you're a Were." He sighs licking some meat off his lips.
"No but won't your relatives know I'm a Were anyway and kill me or some shit?" She shakes her head sitting in the window seat.
"They aren't that nuts as long as you don't invite your pack or trash the house they won't mind."
"Well you don't have to worry about a pack I'm a rouge Lycan and I'm not a normally messy creature." She looked a little confused at the Lycan.
"I thought Werewolves all lived in packs or clans?" He shakes his head.
"No like real wolves we have rouges I just happened to be one."
"Why wouldn't you get lonely?"
"You are one curious kid jeez. And no I like being by myself no one to bug me, no one to worry about, many things. He finishes the food then licks his lips. So what's your deal?" She shrugs walking around a little.
"Nothing much I'm just a Vampire girl whose parent sent her up here to experience the world a little."
"Well have you?" She shakes her head.
"I've never been out of Aston." He laughs scratching his back.
"That makes loads of sense. Why does the family think you're too frisky or something?" She gasps again.
"You're absolutely vulgar can you really not stop talking like that?" He smiles shrugging his shoulders.
"Sorry but like I said when you live in the woods for most of your life and only see Huntsmen and Foresters. You pick up stuff so what is the reason you don't go out?"
"They don't think I'm frisky or whatever you said they think I'll get hurt. What with all the Lycans and other Vampires running about." He nods looking at her.
"Well if you pack the right stuff you can fend off Weres and Vampires."
"Yeah but I know nothing about fighting so it wouldn't be of any use to have weapons." He shrugs moving next to her and looking out the window.
"I see that being a problem." She looks at him and says.
"Can you protect me?" Caught quite off-guard by the request the young wolf nearly fell off the seat.
"Uh come again?" She moves and sits on the floor beside him her dress mushrooming as she sits.
"Can you come with me into the forest and guide me? I can pay you." He laughs looking at her.
"Are you sure it's quite wooly out there and them big fancy dresses will cause only problems." She smiles poking his nose.
"Yes I'm sure and big dresses aren't the only clothes I own. I've got some simple dresses that the village girls often wear." He shrugs looking at a dust bunny wander by.
"Jolly good and don't worry about paying me. You saved me from a stake the least I can do is give you a nature walk. That way we'll be square." He growls smacking his head. Grr I'm turning more and more into a Brit, soon I'll be having afternoon tea and caring what people say." She smiles patting his head.
"Poor baby." He growls thwaping her lightly with his tail.
"Watch it I can leave you for the Lycans to play with. They like young girls Vamps or not. Tender and lean meat is always good."

Human: Avelyn

Avelyn continued to walk even as she made no comment to her thought. She was glad that Melantha hadnt said anything about her morbid mindset...because then it would have lead to questions that she would rather not tell to a stranger. Things that she has locked away in her subconscious for a reason.
When she asked about the closest town Avelyn blinked a few times at her "I have lived here all my life and explored far and wide in every direction. There are no towns anywhere." She said as she pushed some blonde hair behind her ear "I know there are other towns around... but they arent close at all, trust me on that...You must have come a very long way." She said as she continued to walk. Avelyn thought the question quite strange, but if Melantha wasnt going to ask about her weird comments then she wouldnt ask about her weird questions.
As they continued Avelyn fell twice in the mud and stumbled back and forth a few times as they walked on the path through the trees towards a dimly lit town. When they came through the trees the town which was asleep was exposed to them. Although usually there should have been no lights on, but something must have been going on to make a commotion. "Here is the town. It looks different in the light dont worry." She said with a small laugh. Walking through the streets she looked at Melantha to make sure she was alright a few times before leading her to her home. It was darkened in the windows but was quite large for one person to live in. Unlocking the door she pushed it open and switched on the lamp that was on a table near the door. Closing the door behind Melantha she locked it tight and then took a sigh. "Finally home..." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair and stretched. Making her way through the hallway she switched on lights of lamps and doorway markers to light up her home. Leading her to the kitchen area she grabbed a stitched sack and placed it on the table, opening it and grabbing a handful of the contents inside and shoving them into her mouth. Upon inspection the contents were different nuts, dried berries and oat flakes. "Help yourself to anything in my home. Its a thank you for coming and finding me. You probably saved my life..." She said with a smile.
"There are four bedrooms in this house, my own is up the stairs to the right. The master bedroom...the only one on the right. There is another upstairs and then two on this level. You may choose whichever." Avelyn said as she shivered slightly. "I am going to change from these wet clothes and wash up. After Im done you are free to do the same, Im sure my clothes will fit you perfectly." She smiled as she then went down the hall and turned onto a stair case and went up the twenty or so stairs and into her bedroom. Taking some sleep wear from her closet she went into the bathroom and turned the water on in the tub. Undressing she grabbed a washcloth from the rack and cleaned herself from the mud. After she cleaned her body she washed her hair and then dried herself. Moving to the mirror she inspected the cuts and bite marks she had from sitting in the tree and climbing on the rocks. Then she turned around and looked back at her back, her birthmark clear as if it were a black tattoo on white skin. She sighed slightly and dressed herself and then walked downstairs as she dried her hair. "You can clean yourself up now if you wish and go ahead and find some clothes as well." She said as she smiled. "Ill make some food, If you are hungry of course."

Lycan: Myre

Again she was about to answer his question when he shook his head to it, her knowing that she wasnt to answer that. When he answered her question with another question and then explained it slightly she nodded to him, her blue eyes seeming to glow. As he then winked at her and said that he was positive he found something, she stared at him, wide eyed for a moment before blinking at him nervously. Found something? Was he referring to her? She swayed her tail back and forth slightly and flattened her ears slightly as she wondered what he meant. For a lone wolf that she had just met, he was pretty well off. And definitely good with his words. First he convinces her for her name, and then she is fighting with Tyrin protecting him. Then he agrees to try the pack life and now was he flirting with her?! Myre wasnt the kind of Fae who had ever really had others flirt with her. let alone talk to her about something other than food and hunting. Myre blinked at him a few more times before feeling as if they were in an awkward situation.
After a moment of silence after his comment she decided that it was enough with being quiet and gave a playful growl as she smiled at him. "Found something huh? So I am just a thing to you?" She asked as she circled him slightly, her smile still playing on her muzzle. Myre laughed slightly as she came back around to his front and decided to toy with him to see how well his temperament was. If he lashed out at her during the fun and games she would know what boundaries he had. But if he didnt then he was as open minded as she was.
LOVE.

Melantha was quiet as she followed Avelyn into the house and listened to the girl talk, a small smile on her face as she looked around, nodding every once in a while to show she was listening.

The girl then went upstairs to wash and change and Melantha traveled through the lower part of the house. It was expansive, as Avelyn had said, but had few furnishings. It reminded her slightly of her own home, but her home was a bit smaller. She wondered what had happened to decay such a grand house so.

Shaking her head, she shivered, though not only from cold. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up again as she got another sensation of being watched. Her eyes flickered quickly to the nearest window and she swore she saw something move quickly away from it.

With a small yelp, she darted toward the window and stood close to the glass, her quickened breath fogging it slightly as her dark eyes searched the rainy darkness for another sign of movement.

In the next instant, however, Avelyn was descending and telling her she could go clean up if she wished. At the mention of food, Melantha smiled softly. It had been hours since her dinner with the latest, and last, suitor. Yet, she nodded anyways, "I would love something nice and warm, if you do not mind."

After that, she turned and headed up the stairs and quickly found the master bedroom that Avelyn had told her of. It felt odd going into another's room, but she had been offered clothing. It was not as if the tattered gown was going to be doing her any good anytime soon.

She picked out a soft cotton dress, light lavender in shade, and then turned back out and headed toward the bathroom. As she passed into the room, she was brought up short by the ghastly looking ragamuffin that was staring at her from the mirror.

She touched her muddied face in shock. She looked a wreck if ever there was one. The gown had suffered more than she had thought, tears and a slight amount of blood staining it from her cuts she had attained while scrambling through the woods frantically.

She blinked before shaking her head and going toward the bathtub. Soon enough, she was washed, dried, and clothed, having cleaned the numerous cuts extensively.

Melantha ran her fingers through her hair and looked back to the mirror. Much better. She appeared almost as if she had only been preparing for the meeting with a suitor. Her dark hair was loose about her shoulders now and she ran her fingers through it once more.

Shaking her head, she lifted the dirty gown with a wrinkled nose and set it in the bathtub so as not to get the floor of the room too dirty. She then proceeded downstairs.

Approaching Avelyn, she looked a bit sheepish, "I am sorry, but I did not know what to do with my dress, so I set it in your bathtub. Is there somewhere I could throw it?"

===

She had seen him. He was sure of it. More than sure, in fact. He had examined the outside of the house carefully, making sure that there was nowhere that some burglar could get in and then was peering through one of the many windows to get an idea of the layout of the house.

Melantha had passed into the room, appearing to do much the same as he had. He had moved back slightly, involuntarily, but her head had swung around to stare before she rushed to the window.

Altan retreated quickly to the shadows and watched as she peered out into the rain for many minutes before being distracted by the other human girl again.

He sat in the rain, his already soaked coat wrapped around him futilely, but he did not complain. It was not as if he could die from cold.

He smirked at that, glancing out into the forest that stood near the back of the house. The town was in the opposite direction, but he preferred not to go there. For all there was warm food and drink, he had no interest in the idea of being in a place packed with humans.

Blinking his blue eyes slowly, he gave a small sigh, settling down lower to wait out what he expected to be a long night of watching.

===

Lucian laughed gently at her words and watched carefully as she circled him, catching the grin on her muzzle and the slight laughter.

He blinked at her innocently as she sat back down in front of him, his ears flattening as he gave his signature crooked grin, "Just a thing? Ah, no, dearest. You would be my savior."

Lucian stood now before jumping suddenly sideways in a very theatrical and agile way, "The wolf who saved my life from a horde of snarling beasts. One who has the strength of ten wolves and the honor of two hundred! Ah, dear, you've no clue how much of a 'something' I think of you to be!"

He tilted his head at her, the crooked grin still playing on his lips, "And I to you? What is your impression so far, my dear?"

Nathan chuckled deeply in his throat, his eyes beginning to become flourescent and yellow. He smiled, his teeth lengthening, thickening, and sharpening before her very eyes.

"Well, look at what we 'ave 'ere." He said with a wolfish grin. He crossed his gargantuan arms, talons becoming more visible. He eyed her up an down, but his eyes became locked with hers.

"Yes, I 'ave no doubt that ye' can take bloody care of yourself. That is why ye' smell like someone who ran a smile and swam another. If ye' can care for yerself," he stepped closer and closer, his hands restig at his sides again.

"Then why in the bloody hell are ye' running?" He motioned for her to sit, his rough hand resting on her shoulder and his other motioning towards the bench.

"I am not about to kill a fellow night-dweller like meself, 'specially one like yerself... would be a bloody waste." He said with a chuckle, waiting fo her to sit before sitting himslef.
And then they murdered the whole world....
