The Champion of Vengence
Haley smiled at his threat.
"Oh really you're that much of a scoundrel to leave a poor innocent girl lost in the woods?" He shrugs padding off to explore the house.
"No of course not I'd leave her with some wild Lycans." He laughs going into the pantry. Haley goes after him picking her long dress up so she doesn't trip.
"Oi where are you going? I just gave you some food." He nudges the door open and sniffs around.
"Hey I'm a curious boy just looking." She smiles leaning against the door.
"Thought that was cats? She smiles again but stops hearing the keys to the front door jingle she grabs Thatch's head and quickly yanks him from the pantry closing the door pulling him into the foyer.
"My Aunt are Uncle are home remember what I told you. As long as they think you're good they won't mind you and they'll only think you're good if they think you belong to me." He growls glaring at her.
"What the hell you said they weren't nuts!" She smiles sheepishly.
"I'm sorry but you're the only person close to my age here and I'm sorry." She frowns dropping her head. He sighs straightening the collar.
"Fine I'll play along but don't make this an everyday thing I don't usually let folks that deceive me live." He sits by the living room door watching the front door.

Haley kisses his head then goes to the door she hears her relatives talking with their attendants, she opens the door smiling.
"Aunt Elizabeth, Uncle Zachary welcome home I take it London hasn't burnt down yet?" The curvy figure of her Aunt steps in from the rain followed by the statue like form of her Uncle.
"Yes Haley it's still standing. I can't say the same for some ruffians that tried to accost us." Zachary closed the door placing his hat and cloak on the hook then takes Eliza's and hangs them.
"Yes, took all our might not to drain them dry, but the taste of stale beer would stop us itself. He sniffs the air and goes ridged. What is that stench? He hurries past the women and goes to the foyer glaring at Thatch.
You vile creature how dare you come into my house?" He goes to grab Thatch who snarls jumping away. Haley goes between her Uncle and the Were.
"Please Uncle I saved him he's a good Were." With a deep growl the large Vampire stands erect looking down at the girl.
"You better have a good reason for this girl." Her Aunt joins them and glares at the Lycan.
"Haley answer him why do you have that animal in here?" Thatch narrows his eyes at them really not liking all this animal and creature talk. Haley looks up at them innocently.
"There was a murder in town, the villagers found wolf prints and he was mistaken for the Killer. They would've killed him if I didn't help." Elizabeth looks at her Niece and asks with more then a little chill.
"And how do you know he isn't the killer?" She responds trying to match the chill.
"Because he doesn't smell of human blood he smells of cow and pig." The pair sniffs and nod.
"Very well we believe you but we want him gone by the morning. Lycans aren't the type of creatures that can or should be kept in a house where others sleep. Now go to your room it's late and you have lessons in the morning." She sighs curtsying to them then takes Thatch's collar and begins to go up with him but her Uncle grabs the Were and pulls him back down.
"A Lycan definitely shouldn't be in the same room with a young girl who's sleeping." She sighs nodding to them and going to her room. Zachary drags the lad to the front door then lets him go.
"I know you can understand speech so I'll say this. If you're not gone by the morning I'll kill you myself you can stay until he rain stops but be gone by the time I wake got that." Thatch growls sitting down.
"Righto gov'ner." The big man walks off muttering to himself.
"Great he's a cockney Lycan one or the other is bad enough." The young Wolf growls lying down then falls into a light sleep.

The night slips quietly on and the rain ceases. The young wolf mumbles opening his eyes and staring into the night as a figure comes toward him assuming it's Zachary he staggers to his feet and growls.
"I'm goin gov'ner just give me a tick to shake the doze off." He stumbles to the door feeling heavy from the sleep but stops feeling a small hand upon his head.
"Are you sure you're an American? Because you could very well pass for being an Englishmen." He shakes his head focusing on her, his night vision flipping on if you will.
"Haley? What are you doing?" She kneels down and smiles at him.
"I'm going to make sure you keep up your part of our bargain and take me out for a walk." He looks at her confused.
"It's the middle of the night this is when Vampires and Lycans are at their best. Not to mention other creatures of the night." She smiles patting his head.
"Then it's good we're a Vampire and a Lycan. We'll be at our best as well." He sniffs.
"So you were lying about not being able to fight then?" He frowns a little feeling like an old tissue. She shrugs looking down.
"I only know how to gouge eyes, break shins, and hit below the belt. Good for one attacker but not for many." He smiles looking at her.
"And you called me crude normally I wouldn't but seeing as I'm in your debt twice now, my honor obliges me. Come on I hope your dressed right a heavy cloak and a loose non-puffy dress." She nods opening up the black cloak showing a dark purple dress that stops above her ankles and compliments her figure without being puffy. With a nod he works the door open and slips out followed by Haley who quietly closes the door.
"Thank you Thatcher." He nods sniffing the air.
"I'll have you back before dawn with enough time for you to undress and act like you were sleeping, now stick close." She smiles grabbing onto his collar together they slip into the chilly forest like wraiths.

Lycan: Myre

When she mentioned herself being just a thing she expected just a laugh from him. But when he spoke his words caught her off guard and she blinked at him when she called her his Savior. She tilted her head to the side slightly as he jumped up and to the side gave her a theatrical announcement she laughed slightly, a smile staying on her lips as he told her that she didnt know how much of something she meant to him. And then when he asked what she thought of him she twitched her right ear momentarily and blinked at him.
She was stumped, or atleast thats what she convinced herself of. Truthfully she was afraid to answer the question. Myre just didnt know how to word her answer, because she was worried about what he would think. "Well...I think you are a nice guy..." She paused, cursing herself in her mind for saying that. "And a very smooth talker." She smiled slightly, trying not to sound as if she were trying hard to flirt with him. But there was just something about him that made her want to. Myre smiled slightly and growled a little "You are brave to come into an unknown pack's territory and even more brave to stay even when it was possible for you to be killed...and I think you will make a wonderful addition to the pack." She said as she blinked at him, hoping she had not said too much. Flattening her ears she dipped her head low as she smiled at him.

Human: Avelyn

When Melantha went upstairs to wash up Avelyn had a small smile on her face as she stood for a moment starring into a wall in the next room with a lot of framed pictures on it. She took a deep breath and got slightly teary eyed as she then turned and went to the refrigerator to grab some of the cold vegetable and beef soup that she made the night before. Taking it out and pouring it into a pot she turned on the gas stove and began to heat it. Cleaning the dish that the soup had been in she dried it and put it away as she took out some bowls and spoons for them both to use.
Avelyn stirred the soup as it was now done, waiting for Melantha to come down the stairs. Feeling a chill she shivered for a moment and then walked over into the dining area and opened the glass paneling to the one of many fire places that she had in her home. Taking a long match she sparked it and placed it on the half burned wood. She watched the tiny flame as it began to dwindle down. Lighting another match she placed it on the wood next to the other match and then grabbed a piece of wood and held it over the flame. When it caught on fire she placed it easily onto the other pieces of wood and watched as it rose, the heat wrapping around her skin as she smiled. Moving back to the kitchen she stirred the soup and then dispensed it into the bowls, hearing Melantha coming down the stairs. When she told her that she didnt know what to do with the dress she smiled. "Its alright. We can take care of it in the morning." Avelyn said as she nodded to her, grabbing the two bowls of soup and bringing them to the table near the fireplace. Setting them down on the table she motioned for Melantha to come and eat.
Avelyn sat down and pushed her barely wet hair behind her ear and took her spoon to the soup and sipped at it slightly. The hot liquid burning her tongue and making her shake her head swiftly at the pain. With a small laugh she blew on the next spoonful before she took it into her mouth. "Be careful...Its...hot." She smiled to Melantha as she looked over to her before she drew her attention back to her soup.

Vampire: Alice

When he touched her shoulder she felt the urge to break his arm. But she didnt feel as if he was a threat to her. When he motioned for her to sit she nodded slightly and sat down, looking to the ground. "Im running because...the town I live in had a murder. And it just so happened that when I went in at the smell of the blood, the damn mongrul..." She stopped and glanced at him "Sorry...white wolf...came bounding from the home. It caused me to slip and fall into the blood of the dead villager. The guard of the town was patrolling right next to the house and so I ran. But he saw me and now everyone thinks that I am the killer." She explained to him as she pushed her hair from her face. "Its not that I cant take care of myself...I could kill the entire town of Aston...but I couldnt. I wouldnt be able to. I have lived there for longer than most of them have been alive..." She explained as she shrugged slightly.

Lucian grinned as she said he was a smooth talker. That was most definitely something he had heard before. He had learned to take it as a compliment, though a few who had said it most likely did not mean it as such.

He returned a smile when she finished, nodding gratefully, "Well, then. That is very pleasing news to hear. Remember, I have never been in such large group of our kind before so if I...slip up in something, make sure to reprimand me."

He grinned again before glancing around, his tail waving lazily back and forth in contentment, "And what would one do now, Lady Myre?"

===

Melantha smiled as the girl told her that it was alright that her dress had been left in the tub. She had been afraid that possibly the girl was a stickler for cleanliness, as her own mother was. It had seemed an outlet for her mother, something that she could do as far as controlling something in her life, however small and inconsequential it was.

Melantha shook her head slightly before following Avelyn into the room and sitting down carefully at the table. Her hands reached out to wrap gently around the bowl, the warmth from it heating her hands delightfully.

She laughed a bit at Avelyn's comment about the soup being hot before lifting a spoonful to her lips and blowing on it, much as Avelyn was now doing.

They ate in silence for a time, Melantha's eyes traveling the room they were in, enjoying the heat that the fireplace was emanating. Finally, curiosity got the better of her and she spoke.

"I hope I am not being too blunt in asking, but why do you live in such a large house all by yourself?"

Lycan: Myre

When he was obviously pleased with what she had said she felt a rush of relief come over her. When he reminded her that he was used to being a lone wolf she nodded to him, She was not going to tell him that it was a wrong lifestyle choice, because it wasnt. And because she used to live that same life. She was in his paws and couldnt have loved it more. She knew being a lone Lycan wasnt all that hard or lonely, but she also knew that when she joined a pack, life was much better for her.
When Lucian asked her what it was that should happen next Myre tilted her head to the side and gave a slightly confused whine as she smiled, letting him know that she had no idea what to do now. But just as she was about to huff out that she didnt know she growled, a playful growl as she backed away from him. She lowered her head and front shoulders as she growled with a smile, and let her tail stand erect behind her. "How about a little test?" She taunted slightly as she let out a half snarl and a half bark like sound. After a few moments, she made her move. Leaping from her position she tackled his form and they rolled a few times on the ground. When they stopped she was above him, the tip of her nose against his. She growled playfully again before she then ran off into the trees as fast as she could.

Human: Avelyn

Silence. In some moments it causes pure satisfaction and a recognition that life is around. As Avelyn ate her soup she didnt mind the silence, and she knew that Melantha didnt mind it either because she didnt seem too tense about anything. After a while Avelyn had stopped eating and left her spoon in the bowl as she looked at the fire, her blonde hair glowing a light yellow and orange from the light. She took a deep breath and as she let it out she could feel her muscles relax just as her mind did. As she started to feel as if she were floating in the flames she was caught off guard by Melantha's voice. But she listened just the same. But instead of something to spark a conversation in which both girls would talk about, she asked the question that she had hoped she would not ask.
Avelyn sighed slightly and ran her hand through her hair, closing her eyes for a moment. She was deciding on what she wanted to tell and what she didnt. "Well..." She said to assure that she was going to tell the girl something about it. "When I was born, I was born alone. My mother died while having me. That drove my father to drinking. He wasnt a bad guy...just very upset with the world..." She paused as she opened her eyes and looked to the half empty soup bowl "He used to beat me, when I was young. And of course as the only child in the family I always thought it was because I killed my mom. I grew up here, in this house with my father. But he was usually out hunting or drinking. So I went off exploring the area. I found a cave nearby, thats where I was tonight before it started to rain..." She said as she gave a light chuckle. "When I was little I found it by mistake, falling into the hole and scraping my elbows and knees trying to stop myself on the rocky walls and floor. But when I flew from the slide like entrance I saw them, Moon Flowers. But when I had come they were only half open, because it was day. But numerous times I snuck away and slept with these flowers when they were fully bloomed." She smiled, remembering the first time she saw them as a child. "When I was sixteen, My father's best friend was killed. But it wasnt an accident, he was mauled by some creature of the night. My father in his sober rage went out that night. He hunted them down, killed them and wiped them out..." Avelyn had a slight shake to her voice now "When he came home, I was cooking dinner. Thinking that he would be hungry when he got home. But as the door opened I heard him stumble in just like the other nights when he was drunk. Walking around the corner I saw a pool of...crimson blood on the wood floor." She paused and looked to the fire to try and hide her teary eyes "He had bites taken out of him and scratches all over his body..." She took a deep breath and some tears fell from her eyes and jumped to her lap. "He looked up at me, smiled and said "I got em'" in his egotistical voice...That was when he collapsed...and that was when he took his last breath." She wiped the tears that had been streaming down her face. "When the town found out about what had happened, not only from finding my father's dead body but hundreds of dead wolves, Lycans and human looking creatures in the surrounding woods, they were in a panic. Of course I didnt want to talk to any of them. I locked myself in my room, hid myself from the world as my mind fell into a pit. But every pit, has its Moon flowers. I began to plant them in a cavern that the cave lead to, they became my family. I took care of them and they always were there for me." She chuckled lightly and tears jumped from her cheeks "But I suppose that it sounds pretty crazy. Me having flowers as a family." She sniffled, wiped her eyes and sighed "So thats why I live here alone. Its now my house. When Im gone, my family line will end and this house's memories will fade..." She continued to look into the fire and blinked away the tears, wiping her cheeks a few times more.

The young pair of hikers reach an old trail Thatch was just about to tell her about the flowers of the forest when he heard something running toward them in the bushes knowing by the sounds it's a wolf he pushes Haley into a hole in an old tree and scouts ahead. Padding silently along he sniffs a female and male, of mating age, and it sounds like they're playing. Growling he rolls around in some moist dirt then hides in the bushes near to where he guessed they were going. If they were not playing he'd be the first to stop them from finding Haley.

The young Vampriss simply nods knowing out here her wolf friend is the boss. She wraps her cloak around her and sits in the dank trunk hoping no bugs decide to investigate her. As soon as Thatch goes out of sight the whole silence of the woods seems to become aware to her. She become attuned to the chirps and rustles, and one particular rustle made her worry. Covering her head she listens as it gets closer to her hiding place.

Lucian had not been expecting Myre to want to /play/, and so he had been wholly unprepared when she had tackled him. Then, in an instant, she was gone, tearing off through the rain and trees.

After a second, a happy snarl shot from his lips as he flipped onto his feet and shot off after her. He was built for speed and his slender form cut through the underbrush as if it were nothing, his paws nimbly avoiding lifted roots and catchy weeds.

His russet fur was soon drenched, but his tongue lolled out casually as he flew after her. Soon enough, her white fur was visible in front of him and he lowered his head, putting on a burst of speed before launching himself, in turn, onto her back.

They tumbled for a few moments, during which he made sure he ended up on top. He grinned brightly at her, golden eyes full of good humor before he asked, "Did I pass?"

Taking a deep breath of air, in a pleased huff, he suddenly stiffened, ears shooting forward and eyes lifting to the darkness around them.

He jumped off her easily and stood, tense and ready. He scented another lycan, though there was another faint scent lingering in the air. It was faint enough that he couldn't quite place it, however, and so he instead focused on the lycan's scent.

He peeked over to Myre, "Should we let him be?"

===

Melantha listened quietly to the girl's story, her dark eyes clouded with horror as she listened. The beating was something Melantha could relate to, though it had only been out of her own pride rather than circumstances.

After the story was finished, Melantha reached out her hand and placed it on the girl's shoulder, "I am sorry. I should not have asked. This is hard for you."

She felt ashamed for having pried, but she now knew, rather than constantly wondering why the girl lived alone.

Her eyebrows drew down as she recalled a part of the story, "But...you stated that there were 'lycan' bodies? But...those...are not real. Just as vampires, they are not. You mean normal wolves, correct?"

Melantha was feeling her own panic flutter to life in her breast. Panic at the thought that those vampires were indeed real and that they could possibly be coming for her, knowing that she had seen them. She shoved it down quickly, clinging to that hope that Avelyn had misspoke and that she, herself, had been hallucinating before she ran away.

Lycan: Myre

Myre continued to run, a laugh coming from her jaws as she bounded faster and faster. She didnt expect to be tackled by him, at all. Myre was expecting to have outrun him and then slow down for him, but that didnt happen obviously. As she was taken to the ground she laughed and growled at him playfully as they rolled. When he ended up atop of her she looked up at him, panting from the running in which she had done, the energy she had required for it had healed most of her wounds completely already.

As he grinned down at her and asked her if he passed she nodded as a response, catching her breath. Then as he moved from atop of her and stiffened she looked up at him and then caught it, the scent of another male Lycan. By the time he peeked back at her Myre was standing, her tail frizzed and standing straight up as she looked around and twitched her ears a few times, listening for movement of any kind. When he asked if they should leave him be she shot a look to Lucian, not one of a threatening nature but one that would scare anyone who didnt quite know her attitude. She sniffed the air and for a moment she only caught the Lycan, but then a sweet smell drifted into her nose. It must have been a female, some kind of female as well. They werent human, that was for sure. Humans had a salty and musk type smell, but this one was sweet but rotten. Widening her eyes she growled suddenly, knowing exactly what it was. Moving to Lucian's side she pushed her muzzle against his ear as she spoke under her breath to him "There is a vampire girl nearby...she doesnt seem dangerous from her sweet smell but she doesnt belong here. Ill track her scent...you find the Lycan boy..." She finished with a slight growl as she pulled away from his ear, nodding to him; showing him that she was fully serious about the situation.

Myre then sniffed the air and then moved her nose to the brush where she found a slight trail and began to follow it into the trees. Stepping silently through she was careful to not only keep herself hidden but to also stay away from the Lycan. She was in no shape for another fight. And rogue Weres usually werent the nicest Lycans on the earth. She sniffed the air and caught onto the strong scent, following it towards some bushes and a few trees. She pressed her nose into the bushes and knew she was close, very close. Myre let out a slight growl as she opened her jaws slightly, her white canines barring as she heard breathing on the other side of the bushes. Strangely it sounded as if it were inside of the tree, but it wouldnt surprise her if it was a hollow tree.

((Either Siksta can make it so Thatch attacks Lucian or Myre to protect Haley. =) Whichever is up to you.))

Human: Avelyn

When she heard Melantha's reaction she shook her head, motioning that it was alright that she had asked. Avelyn hadnt told anyone about that story, and now that she had someone to talk to that was actually interested, it felt alright to get it out of her mind. One person holding a bad memory is a burden. But two people holding the same bad memory is a little less wicked.

When Melantha spoke about what she thought was some sort of slip up in her story Avelyn smiled and gave a slight laugh as she looked into the fire. "You dont believe in them...do you?" She asked in a monotone whispered voice. A smile crooked its way onto Avelyn's lips. "Then life must be so perfect for you wherever you came from...because they are all around. Especially in this town...in the forests...in these homes...everywhere." Avelyn looked to Melantha and then behind her to the window, at the rain pitter pattering on the window. "Its okay if you dont believe me...But I hope and pray that you dont have the justification of their existence the hard way..." She sighed and pushed her hair behind her ear "Im sorry..." She apologized as she smiled to Melantha. "Ive just had...experiences..."

Thatch kept himself hidden as the other Lycans entered his area. He repressed growls as they talked. Seeing the female start off toward Haley. He follows the female easily keeping her scent in his nose. As she stops at the tree where he hid his Vampiric friend he snarled barreling from the bushes quickly getting between the female and Haley's tree. Baring his own fangs he snarls glaring at the female.
"If you want to live long enough to have pups I recommend you go back to where you came from." He steps closer to the female waiting for the male to come. Keeping his ground he keeps the glare up.

Haley had been flicking insects out of her tree when she heard a Lycan like growl. At first she thought it was Thatch trying to scare her but the growl wasn't his it seemed lighter and not as deep. Then she got the slightest sent of a female and a shiver went down her spine. And then it came to her, there was an angry female Lycan outside. She wasn't sure if she could fight this Lycan so she tried to hide herself against the rotting bark. But the scent grew stronger as the female got closer. She was about to yell for help when to her relief Thatch arrived and threatened the female. She poked her head out a little to see the little confrontation.

Thatch sniffs looking back at the tree. He snarls keeping his eyes on the female.
"Run now!" Haley caught the meaning and rushed from the tree she runs off into the night looking for someplace to hide scanning her mind for a map of the countryside she blinks trying to locate a house she remembers being out here. She feels the adrenaline racing and increasing with every little noise that could be a pursuer. Soon she sees lights in the tree and leaping over bushes and roots she arrives she was just about to reach the door when a hidden root caught her foot. Falling headfirst she somersaults a few times then smashes right into the door with a loud thud. She groans blacking out from the impact.

(( DiSTURBiA you can make the house Haley crashed into yours if you want otherwise it'll be a Woodsmen and his family's.))

Lucian had been close to the lycan's position when suddenly the wolf took off. He'd been a bit surprised at first before quickly darting after him. He caught the end of the brute's statement and then his quick bark of 'run.'

It took a fair amount of his control to let the vampire girl just run past. Honestly, did no one but lycans understand that if you run away, there is a compelling urge to chase?

He shook his head quickly and padded calmly out on the opposite side of where Myre was. The brute was effectively in between them and was skinny as a twig. He stood almost no chance against two healthy (and possibly angry) lycans.

Lucian sat down and watched the other lycan carefully, his head tilting, "Well, well. You tell this lovely fae here to go back where she came from, when she is already here. I would have to say that it sounds, and smells, as if you don't. So, the more proper statement would be why do /you/ not go back where you came from?"

He grinned after a moment, "But I honestly have no right of calling you an outlander. I myself only became acquainted with this territory a short while ago. I'll leave it to her as to what we do with you," he said, giving an apologetically friendly smile as he nodded to Myre, then looking to the female and waiting patiently for her decision.

===

Melantha had been about to respond when suddenly there was a sharp knock on the door. She stood quickly, her pulse pounding through her as a flashing image of the vampires reappeared with their mouths bloody from her guards necks.

She shook herself quickly and glanced to Avelyn, "W...What was t-that?"

===

Altan had scented the vampiress even as she approached, though the tang of panic and fear that emanated from her was much more tangible than her species.

He swiftly moved around the house as he heard a sharp 'crack', only to find the vampiress knocked out on the doorstep of the house. He blinked at her for a moment before moving closer, letting his melding drop for a moment, making him quite visible to anyone or thing.

Lifting her head gently, he was glad to see that she hadn't broken the skin on her forehead. She would only have a nasty bruise for a few hours, being that she was, after all, not human.

He blinked at her for a moment as he realized she was dressed much as a peasant girl. What smart village girl would go out into the forest, for that was where she had come from, by herself at a time of night as this? It seemed almost something a noble would do, rather than one raised with caution.

((I forced your hand, Disturbia. Sorry. Hehe. It was just too tempting to resist!))

Thatch fearlessly stood his ground keeping up the growling. Moving so he could watch both of them.
"A lot of fancy words you're spouting there Brit. But I ain't going anywhere I've been hunting well on these lands for three years. Even with her pack scrounging around. Now just leave us alone, but if you want a fight I've won in worse odds." He shakes the rest of the mud from his fur watching the two.

((Don't you try and get fresh with my char. Neon ;) ))

Haley opened her eyes looking around dazed. She was about to call out when she felt her head lifting startled she rolls away form whoever was touching her and landed on the ground softly. Shaking her head trying to focus on the figure she says.
"Thatcher I thought you couldn't change into your human form because you didn't have any clothes. She smells the air catching not the smell of old meat that Lycans have that of old blood the tell-tale smell of Vampires. Getting to her feet unsteadily she says.
"Who are you and what do you want?"

Altan blinked at the woman as she quickly rolled away from him and stood, first calling him 'Thatch' before realizing he was not. She apparently had thought he was a lycan, by what she said.

He dipped his head gently, remaining in his crouched position on the ground as he watched her carefully, "My name is Altan. I meant no harm, my lady. Simply making sure you were not horribly injured."

Offering a faint smile, he continued, "Now that I see you are fine, I will take my leave. I am sorry to have startled you."

((Oh, Altan would /never/ think of doing anything of the sort, dear! Ever. He's a gentleman. Unlike your Thatch. ;) lol!))
