Welcome to Ryan's Guide to be a Successful Clan Member! and get recongnized quicker for Staff positions It occured to me that a lot of people don't know how to be able to get noticed quickly in a clan or how to really behave properly in one either. So here is my guide on how to fix those problems that you may have. 5 Simple Ways to Get Noticed 1. Say "Hello" when you enter the chat. 2. Announce your level-ups. 3. Say "Congratulations" to those who have levelled. 4. Say "Good-bye" when leaving. 5. Participate on the Forums. Big shocker, right? Those five steps are surpassed by almost everyone who asks, "Why have I not been chosen to get a higher rank?" Those basic 5 things are the most likely guarantee that you will be noticed quicker than anyone else in the clan. Proper Clan Etiquette Etiquette (et-i-quette) Noun: conventional requirements as to social behavior; proprieties of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion. Another important factor to be a successful clan member is to have manners. It can be tough to be calm or not get upset when annoying people come into the Friend's Chat/Clan Chat; however, that is why there is an Ignore List Jagex has kindly incorporated into the game. Make good use of it. Be resourceful! The most important thing that I find more annoying than anything is a person who is constantly asking questions. I would love to answer simple questions that maybe cannot be easily found on a fan site, but I absolutely despise those who enter the chat expecting us to give them a guide on how to do a Barrow's Run or asking us to factor the amount of experience per hour using this strategy at this combat level with this type of weapon and on and on. Also, if you can be resourceful and help a fellow clanmate out or just another person hanging around in our friend's/clan chat, this will also help you towards being on the right path in this clan. Possibly the worst thing you can do while in any clan chat is to beg and ask for ranks. Now, there is a difference from those who ask to have a rank and those who ask how to receieve a rank. Make sure to ask how to receieve a rank in any clan, not beg and demand a rank. Have patience with us. We may not know the answer to your question, so don't constantly repeat yourself every thirty seconds. We saw what you typed the first time, but we probably don't know the answer. That's the time when you engage yourself and be resourceful! Look at this, a short and simple tutorial that has a tremendous impact on your character and how people feel about you while in the clan. If you use it, you will be rewarded and seen as a good clan member. |
