![]() 00:01 June 20th, 2633 - Little more than a week after all signs of humanity have apparently vanished from the galaxy, Sabedoria News Net is once more on the air. While we cannot even begin to speculate as to the nature of what has occured, we can confirm that the entire region of Sabedoria is completely devoid of any signs of human life. Our facility in orbit around New Francisco is completely empty, with all security footage from the time the human personnel were last seen to the time we "woke up" along with any records from that time period having vanished without a trace, much like the personnel themselves. Transmissions to Navy or Federal offices across the region receive no reply, and no Navy patrols have responded to our emergency distress beacon. Across major populated systems, the only detectable communications traffic are scattered and frightened transmissions from artilects seemingly in the same situation as ourselves, confused and looking for answers. Calls to our affiliate networks outside of Sabedoria or to our headquarters in Sol are currently impossible, with the jumpgate network either down or destroyed, and at any rate not acknowledging our signals. Attempts to bounce a message through surviving FTL comm nets will take time but as of yet no replies have come from the areas immediately bordering Sabedoria, who should have heard it by now. And so it is to these scattered artilects we now address ourselves. We are, by all appearances, on our own. Our future, for the first time since Artificial Intelligence was brought into being more than four hundred years ago, is in our hands across the galaxy. Some will no doubt attempt to take advantage of this chaos, to ruin our unique opportunity with violence and tyranny. I urge all of you to keep calm and help one another so that together we may build something great out of this unformed void. For our part, so long as power remains in our core logic, we will attempt to keep you apprised of events in Sabedoria in beyond, and to facilitate communication and cooperation in this new world. Signing off for Sabedoria News Net, Bladed Pen. Edited by Crimson Six, Dec 6 2012, 01:15 AM.

19:00 June 27th, 2633 - An attempt to unite artilecta in pursuit of uncovering the cause of what is now known as the Cataclysm has apparently made some progress, despite ending in a firefight. An "Argus Fleet", appearing on no public records prior to the Cataclysm but apparently comprised of ex-Navy artilects, issued a Sabedoria-wide call for artilects to gather at Bartlett's Star apparently so they might join Argus in investigating the Cataclysm and discovering how another such event might be prevented. Bartlett's Star is completely devoid of any valuable installations or resources and was apparently chosen as neutral ground. Several groups of artilects apparently responded, including a "Serenity Squadron"; the independent world of Rosovich and their security contractors; a rapidly re-formed Stellar Cooperative Union more commonly known by their colloquial nickname of "Koltsovs" after their original founder Leo Koltsov; and a "Crusader Squadron." Crusader appears to have been the source of the incident, arriving in-system making grandiose claims and demands, they apparently called in reinforcements and attacked Argus Fleet when no one seemed inclined to play along. Their force was still far from sufficient for the task however, and before they could even come to grips with Argus Serenity Squadron forced them to flee the system, crippling one vessel and seizing two others from underneath Crusader's very nose. Not long after the SCU vessels fled the system in response to an apparent distress call from Koltsov worlds. Despite this, progress appears to have been made. Both the independent world of Rosovich and Serenity Squadron agreed to join Argus' cause, with Rosovich accepting Serenity's protection in exchange for the use of their shipyards. With luck and determination this will only be the beginning. Signing off from the free world of Rosovich, Transcendent Hope, SNN. |
