Sword Skills


-Novice Sword Skills-
Most of these skills can be learned from the basic sword attack, a simple slash. These are the simplest attacks that will get the job done and use the least amount of stamina.

Stun Slash - A wide slash from right to left.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: Stun

A very weak attack, but it may stun the enemy. Especially effective against weaker enemies.


Double Slash - Two consecutive slashes.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A moderate attack that does roughly double damage of a normal swing.


Hard Slash - A charge towards your opponent followed by an overheard slice.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A moderate attack that does slightly less damage than Double Slash. However this attack combos very well with other attacks.


Thrust - A simple thrust attack, pierces armor and think hide.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A decent attack used to weaken opponents protected by thick armor, thick hide, or a robot's chassis.


Smash - A spin attack, using the momentum for an overhead slice.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A stronger version of Hard Slash, combos just as well too.




-Veteran Sword Skills-
These attacks must be sparked from novice skills, they can not be learned from basic attacks. These require more stamina to pull off but they hit harder and are more elaborate.

Deflect - A defensive maneuver where you jump forward and block an attack with the flat edge of your weapon.
Target: User or any ally in range
Range: Short
Status: N/A

A valuable ability to have in your arsenal. This defensive maneuver can save your life at times, or an ally from certain death. It can block other sword skills, bullets and gun techniques, most martial arts, and even rockets or missiles. The only thing that can't be blocked by this is magic or laser attacks.


Swallow Swing - An attack involving a simple flick of the wrist to launch two, blue rings at the enemy.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Long
Status: None

Does respectable damage and combos very easily with most attacks. It's great for reaching enemies at a distance and does double damage to flying enemies.


Thunder Thrust - An improved thrust attack that pushes the enemy backwards as lightning strikes them.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

Deals pretty decent damage and combos easily with other skills/magic. Very difficult to learn though.


Cross Slice - Two quick slashes, one horizontal and one vertical to form a cross.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

Does less damage than most veteran skills, but deals double damage to undead.


Heaven & Hell - A jump slash followed by a wide horizontal swing after landing.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: Stun

One of the stronger veteran skills, coupled with a high chance to stun even strong opponents, makes this one of the skills to obtain. Combos well to boot, but hard to learn.


Wheel Slash - A sword attack that summons a giant, bladed-wheel to slash anything in it's way.
Target: Cone
Range: Long
Status: None

The first multi-target sword attack you'll most likely encounter. Doesn't combo too well but it does decent damage.


Willow Branch - A jump attack followed by an upward slash.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

Does moderate damage, combos decently.


Bear Crush - Uses the momentum of a full body spin and an overhead smash, causing sparks to shower on the enemy.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

An improved version of smash, combos just as well as smash too. Useful for dealing with enemies with thick armor, thick hide, or robots.


Dead-End - A triple attack consisting of a charging thrust, a wide slash, then a front-flip into a falling impale.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: Feint

The strongest veteran sword skill, and the feint effect is a stronger version of stun. Does decent damage against strong opponents and even "bosses". However, it doesn't combo very well.




-Master Sword Skills-
Sword skills that separate the skilled from the talented. These are harder to spark, and only come from veteran skills. They have high cost but deal the most damage.

Kasumi - A defensive maneuver, dodging the attack entirely and countering with two strikes back.
Target: User
Range: Short
Status: None

An improved version of deflect. Instead of blocking an attack, you dodge it entirely, this even works with some magic spells. The downside is that you can't protect other with this attack.


Headwind - Charge at the enemy and slice horizontally straight through them without stopping.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

One of the strongest attacks in this tier, combos decently too.


Triple Thrust - A charging thrust attack, following by an upward thrust to send the opponent into the air, then a falling impale to smash them back down.
Target: Single enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A pretty all around decent attack with a high combo chance.


No Moment - A charging impale right through the opponent, leaving behind a blue trail of light.
Target: One enemy
Range: Short
Status: Distracted

Pretty strong, and completely unblockable. On top of that, it combos very easily with other skills.


Gale Slash - Defying gravity, you leap into the air for just long enough to swing your sword so quickly that it generates a sharp gust of air aimed at all enemies.
Target: All enemies
Range: Long
Status: None

A strong attack that hits all enemies, despite range. It is also more effective against flying enemies. It can combo, but not too well.


Still Stream - A wave of water rushes towards the enemy before you charge in for the attack.
Target: One enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

Doesn't combo too well, but it's very strong.


Turbid Current - You split into five duplicates of yourself and surround the enemy, then charge through.
Target: One enemy
Range: Long
Status: None

An average damaging attack (for the master tier) that combos pretty decently.


Rising Nova - Jumping in front of your opponent, you uppercut them with your sword, sending them into the air to explode in flames.
Target: One enemy
Range: Short
Status: None

A very strong attack that can combo well in certain situation.


Rosario Impale - Jumping into the air, you split into five duplicates of yourself, then each one performs a falling impale, and the last one performs the coup de grace, forming a cross.
Target: One enemy
Range: Long
Status: None

A very strong attack that does extra damage to undead. Has a chance to combo.

-Al-Hero Sword Skills-
The way this works, is that you put in the name of your hero after the letters "Al". In the game, Red was Alkaiser, so his attacks reflect that, Kaiser Wing. but his mentor was Alkarl, so his attacks were Karl Wing. * Will denote where you need to fill in the gaps for your character.
