How to Edit | Arcade_Const.lua; How to customize YOUR arcade mode.

This is a tutorial i wanted to do before i go to bed. Here i will teach you how to edit Arcade Constants. As far as i know nobody really taught peeps how to edit it, so i thought I'd write one up for you guys right here and now.

Arcade_Const.lua is located in the same folder as the default const.lua. It is located in the resource/cmn/boot of your game, it can also be copied to the cmn/boot of the patch folder which the game will treat as a little patch and it will automatically override the patch one with the old one. Anyways, to what the thing actually does is that it tells the game what to do during Arcade Mode gameplay. Various functions are located here, such as what music plays during Rival battles, what place you will fight the rival battle in, and more you can find in there!

Before we can safely edit the lua, you will need Notepad++, which is located here. = http://notepad-plus-plus.org/


So, now lets get to editing! The basic layout.

Because obviously the game was developed in Japan, the guy who made the lua left his comments on it. Run it through Translate if you want to!


So lets get to the first function

CharacterRepetition = true

I'm not sure what this means, because i never would fight a team 2 times in one arcade session.

StageRepetition = True

This makes sense, because you can face Ryu/Ken on Half Pipe, and before you know it you'll face Hwoarang and Steve wanting to beat you up in the same spot.


NormalCharactersSF/TK

This is a huge list of possible fighters to face in Arcade for each series. Goes in order, like RYU KEN together.

NormalTagIDs

This is a table containing a list of the teams ingame. The list you'll see later will correspond to what the IDs mean. However, there is 2 extra IDs. You wanna know what they mean?

11 - Mega Man
25 - Pac-Man

With our mod, you can play as them! By default, they are nulled out with UKN.

CheckDLC bla bla bla.

Exclusive to 1.08 this is for the DLC and stuff.

MidBossSF/TK

By default the SF boss is Bison/Juri and TK boss is Jin/Xiayou. They are exclusively meant for this, they have D04 ema files and cameras, etc. so setting anyone else to these values will work but you will see all 2 bosses in the middle of the stage for a few seconds and they will instantly get pandora for the rest of the match, and fight you.

BossSF/TK

Similar to setting middle bosses, except that Ogre and Akuma have D05.

SpecialSF/TK

Only works for Megaman/Pacman. I have no idea if it works for anyone else, but this is a rather buggy leftover from the PS3 build. No WARNING sign, no BGM, etc. just a fight with Megaman/Pacman by themselves.

NormalFields

All possible battlefields to meet your opponents on. This works with Robhal's Extra Stages pack actually.

MidBoss/BossField

Changes where you will face the bosses at.

Official/RivalTags

Official is the player, Rival is the CPU. Changing this stuff will cause some unintended stuff.


RivalFields

Change where you will face your rival at. The previous official/rivaltags table will help you figure this stuff out. Like, if i want to change where the Ryu/Ken vs. Kazuya/Nina fight takes place, i will find out that that scene is the first one and change DET, Scene=1 to whatever i want.

About the scenes, this is all i know. Add more info, please?

Scenes for DET ( pitstop 109 )

Scene = 0 ( Day time )
Scene = 1 ( Sunset )
Scene = 2 ( Night )

You can also set whatever floor you want the fight to take place. Works for Half-Pipe, Jurassic Era Research Facility and Mishima Estate.

RivalDemoIDs

I wouldn't mess with this, will most likely screw up the rival scene.


RivalBGMs

Changes what song will play at the battle. If i get a request for it, i will list what each BGM is.


MidBossGemTypes

What gems the Middle Boss will use. No idea which ids are which.

BossGemTypes

Redirects to MidBossGemTypes.
