Some texture files look weird after being extracted, like their channels are misplaced
:dizzy: @Moddah, could you give us a tutorial on how you were able to extract the normal maps from the PC version of UMVC3? Using the currently available arc tool, they appear completely garbled and without the correct alpha transparency.(Edit, all was well after I followed your hex tutorial) I was able to replace an edited normal map using 360 textures, and although it works in-game, but appears glitched. I am not sure what data the game is expecting from these DDS files that it is not getting when we repack them. The normal map was saved as DXT5 with all white alpha and 10 mipmaps, the same as the regular. (Got them working, just had to change the channels like you said, it was the spec map that was causing issues.

Also, I managed to replace a UI image, but I had to redo the colors in photoshop, but no matter how much I tweak, it gets the balance all wrong.

If you can look into the tex tools or know how we can monitor this process to figure out what the game is doing when it reads these or direct us to someone who can modify them, that would be a really big help to us.

So. i've tried to extract one of Arc archives. but when i try to do just like in the tutorial the program just open for a split second and closes. here is what Log says.

Loaded DMC4 Special Edition extensions.
DMC4SE tex format selected.
Error: Couldn't open Marvel for reading.

Probably nothing serious. but i just don't get it.

Anotak has been working hard on creating tools that makes move editing easier, here is his github:

click the MarvelEditTool.zip to download, he updates this regularly for new IDs we discover, so save the link.

install into any folder you want
1. open statuseditor.exe to open the param.arc's atkinfo, status, cmdspatk and more.
2. Use amnchr.exe to open the animation files in amnchr (all animations) and amntdown (how opponents respond to capture state moves, includes damage and KD info) files.

These tools are especially great because you can export individual IDs and import them into other locations or even on other characters. ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!

These tools are very handy because many things are labeled, but use these pages for further references:

A rather useful tip, for status editor, it converts the hex codes into decimals for each entry, Anotak has made it convenient by adding in tags such as "doublejump" or "hardKD" but in the case where a tag may not be available, you'll have to convert your modified hex into a decimal value and paste into the edit window.

Is there any mod already working, or some easy way to play with Galactus in versus mode? Only him? I would also like to know if you have a mod that unlocks the gold skins Herald of the sub-bosses or is there only one way to use that is swap costume?

PS: I would also like to know if there is already a way to unlock the dlc costume of the magneto?
