thanks sega but i have a problem.
i am trying to transfer weights for SF4AE
I do all what you said, but in the end SMD2EMG give a emg, than in SF4Explorer, looks totally flat.
I even try the process with a smd from another model of SF4AE and is the same.

i know is a old post but just until now i am trying to learn this stuff

thanks for answer
but the problem was that the blender ver 2.65a export the file different from the previous versions.
so I change to 2.65 and works good.

SMD Tools changed the way to export files. Here is a screenshot of how to do it now

Segadordelinks can you write an extra tut in this section about:
1/How to paint mesh mod into parts( to avoid 24 bones assign)
2/how to rename mesh
3/And finally what is the option for transfer weights in the particular area(I mean the area that painted only,not the whole mesh)
