Team Deathmatch; New game mode!

Basically, instead of games being won by the team with the most points, they are won by the teams with the most kills. needless to say, these games would take much longer and be played by the more skilled players, as tech becomes obsolete and health becomes everything. it does allow players to focus on creating the most powerful sentinel possible, without needing to worry about tech, however, and so much longer games can be played by setting the kill requirement to, say, 100.

I realize this works much better when all players have equal health, like Halo/CoD/Battlefield, whatever, but I think it does work.

Hm. This isn't a bad idea. Especially for the people that would rather dominate with kills rather then play objectively. Also the constant problem with your Technology level determining how many points you get is a bother. But, it keeps it equal because you can't exactly expect a F2P to keep up a score if he/she's getting constantly bombarded by Solaris or Doomsday. Anyway, pretty good idea.

Leon, I've gotten high scores in all member games using my gauss hurricane. In part b/c there was a shield protecting me from solaris half the time. xP

I think the issue Leon pointed out won't be that problematic as long as all PvP items remain accessable by FtPers (which is the plan from my understanding).

There is no F2P/P2P distinction in SS2, partly for legal issues, and partly because that was a big pain in the butt for us all, Leon. that got decided back in January, way before I joined. (I swear to God I went "Hallelujah" when i heard!" So there's no need to worry about that.

Actually, there may be some features that are PtP, to help cover the various costs of running the game. Namely operating the server.

Although you'd have to ask Dan or someone higher up to know whether or not we are in the clear in respect to Creative Common and Copyright issues.

Make sure this does not overshadow the other game modes. There are instances where when a game gets deathmatch, no one plays the other modes any more.

Like how 90% percent of games played now are Fleet? I agree.. We might want to spice up the other maps so they get played more. Anyway, I agree with you. However, people who want quick games and aren't too good would prefer to play (War Of Attrition?) or by points.

I like the sound of this. I hate how fleet is currently the only map that is played on, personally i prefer zone and city but getting a city game is impossible :sigh: . maybe we could have a first to 50 kills and a first to 100 kills versions and perhaps "free for all" and team versions?

There's no point of Technology Level, it's gonna be removed, since there's no P2P option everyone is obviously equal to each other depending on how much technologically advanced weapons they have unlocked, and their skill in a specific field.

But what about the weaker parts such as the Oracle Head vs Sinistar Head... The only reason you could have for using Oracle was the tech.
