Team Deathmatch; New game mode!

Basically, instead of games being won by the team with the most points, they are won by the teams with the most kills. needless to say, these games would take much longer and be played by the more skilled players, as tech becomes obsolete and health becomes everything. it does allow players to focus on creating the most powerful sentinel possible, without needing to worry about tech, however, and so much longer games can be played by setting the kill requirement to, say, 100.

I realize this works much better when all players have equal health, like Halo/CoD/Battlefield, whatever, but I think it does work.

If we're removing tech value, then what's going to happen to Standard games? :|

I personally think it should stay in for the regular game modes. Having a separate mode(s) where tech is irrelevant is a good idea, but I don't think it'd be a good idea to remove tech values entirely. IMO that would completely overcentralize the game around tanked Babels DDaying each other all day, kind of like how Fleet is currently overcentralized by the various Orbitals running amok.

why not make it so that every 5k tech or something like that counts as a kill
could up the strategy and reduce such things as massive tech builds like dd babel or the likes

You know what? This isn't a bad idea, considering SS2 is fully F2P. I say let the DDay Babels run the match, half the players will suck balls with them anyways. Easy kills for my railers.
In fact, let's put the match into a Sentinel production facility, lots of conveyor belts and random shit everywhere. Maybe have turrets gunning people down if they stray into the wrong areas, and have Fog-of-war.

I like this idea. About the "overshadowing other game modes" issue, I'd predict this mode being secondary to the standard one. You would only need a kill threshold on maps that are strictly points based, such as zone, city and moon type map: Fleet & Lost do not need, and therefore, shouldn't have a kill threshold(in case this wasn't implied already).

I'd also like to note the previous discussion is such a product of its time it's amusing. The OP is really the only relevant post made prior to now. Just read the OP and you'll be caught up.
