Ground Escort -

2 teams

Team One will have to safely escort a 25,000 hp (which takes 35% less damage from everything) robot towards its "safe zone" which will be on the other side of the map, Team Two's goal is to destroy the convoy (the robot) before it reaches the safe spot. After the game starts, the convoy spawns just a seconds later along with Team One (the convoy brings along Team One's spawn point with it), after a minute, once the convoy gets to a decent distance, Team Two will start spawning and has to destroy the convoy.

Space Escort -

2 teams

Team One will have to safely escort a 50,000 hp (takes 25% less damage from everything) towards a planet on the other side of the map, Team Two's goal is to destroy it before it reaches the planet. Team One will spawn first, and after a minute, Team Two spawns on their own ship, both ships have light weapons (No enormo-lasers, just 2 Flak Cannons on the left and ride with an arc similar to the light shoulder, 2 rail repeaters with the same arc as the light shoulders have), it will roughly take 20 minutes for the ship to get to the planet, both team's ship will carry their team's spawn point with them.

Notes:

The ships DO NOT HAVE SHIELDS.

So how slow would the convoy be, and how massive would it be? Why not just make it a stationary cargo container at the center of the map which a ship needs to pick up? Then the object of the game would be to ward off enemies, just like this one, and it wouldn't have to lag as much because of the map's massive size. Would also be a good idea to either make it time-based or respawn-based. As in, either you have to wait a certain time for the shp to pick up the container, or the enemies have limited respawns, or both!

Aoloach; Poll #3

1) It could change depending on how many sentinels are escorting it. This stems from the idea that it drains X amount of energy per second from each surrounding sentinel. So, say it drains 1 GJ/s from each sentinel, moving at 1 m/s. So for each additional sentinel, the drain per sentinel stays the same, but the speed of the payload increases.

2) Have it drain a constant amount of energy per second from the sentinels around it, and split it evenly among them, and have it move at a constant speed. Say, it needs 20 GJ/s to move at 20 m/s. If there's one sentinel on the payload, it takes all 20 GJ/s of drain. If there are 5, then it drops to 4 GJ/s. So, you could have one sentinel with high energy regen/reserves escorting the payload, and the rest of the team on offense, as it were. Or if none of you have high energy regen or reserves, then multiple sentinels could group on the payload in order to supply it with the necessary amount of energy.

There's not really a point to writing story before we even have rudimentary AI. I'd like to keep our developers' coding abilities in mind when writing a story. Putting the cart before the horse and all that. And so far, those abilities are non-existent. Thus, the story is non-existent.
So let me get this straight, you intentionally not writing because someone else isn't doing something?

Progress for progress is really helpful

No, I just have higher things on my priority list. Mostly since I'm not getting paid to write story, while I am paying UAH to teach me stuff.
