My Little Demo; Its called Panel Sentinels

Very lazy, such slow, wow.
I know I left you all waiting for the next version (especially those without access to the staff forum), and I dont think that Ill be able to get the new one out too soon (because hadjii is never here...). Anyways, I decided to create a demo of the combat system with a 2D top down view. Always remember: this is just a demo of combat and multiplayer, it wont have as good graphics as the true game will.

As always it generates log and error files upon crashing, I need both to fix whatever happened.
CONTROLS: A and D to rotate (quite slowly however) and W and S to move. You are using a heavy pulse cannon which is fired using the mouse.
In the bottom left corner of the screen you can see how much shields and hull you have. Missiles ignore shields, like they do in SS!
In the bottom right corner you see your points / max points. This indicates how many how strong turrets will appear.
By pressing F2 you will create a screenshot and save it to /data. It will have the same size as the game (800x500) and be in PNG format.
Im currently working on multiplayer, however I have to rewrite most of the stuff because I just wanted the working singleplayer out.
Have fun and please tell me what you think or something you want, bugs etc.
I have experienced the fact that sometimes it seems like your weapons dont damage the enemy when firing multiple projectiles at once. However the eclipse debugger says Im wrong about this, so Id like to hear what you think about that. - appears to have fixed itself I now know eclipse is lying...
Also note that all weapons of the same category are fired at once. However they appear a few pixels apart to avoid missiles hitting each other.

No its meant to do that, I didnt already implement the console, but the server is indeed running. Closing the window then closes the server.
That file is empty because nothing happened on the server, since nobody joined (for some reason my logs never contain useful info).

I hope you mean the other way around 0.0, cuz the way I just read is was that CC IS giong to be top down 2D, and ps is gonna be 2Dside.

CC is supposed to be like SS (but better), and SS uses a 2D side view.
At least thats my impression, which might not match the idea someone had when starting this project...

You mentioned needing ideas for parts. Can't you just rip off the names and stats from the original game?
...And yes, I just downloaded the new version. Looks pretty solid. Glad you finally upgraded from the crappy zone texture though!

I could, but we will (or not? I dont know how we decided on this one) be making up our own because copyright and funorb 2014 stuffs. And the original game was unfortunately not top down, so I have to come up with reasonable values.
And I think I upgraded the texture in 0.2 already, or at least 0.3.

Whenever I try to join the multiplayer server, my game instantly crashes. In the server console it says "got new player: Blackout", and after it, "lost connection to Blackout" at the same time the game crashes :slant: .

1. Im stupid because I forgot to update build numbers 3 times in a row.
2. Im stupid because I forgot to make a new build of the engine as well.
3. At least the server didnt die too :)
