With the rules being as long as they are, this is just an easy way to get all the needed info from the topics, without going into too much detail. This is to help you make your first character without having to do a ton of reading. This isn't a full thing though, so you will need to read the rules in full later.

First, you'll need to copy and paste the blank character template into a word document. For filling it out, you just place the information on the outside of the parenthesis.

For reference, here's the coding of the template:

Spoiler: click to toggle

With that out of the way, each part of the template will be explained.

Username:

This is the section for your username, along with a link back to your profile. Do not use [me] for this. Whenever a profile is accepted, it is reposted by a moderator. If you use [me] it will use the moderator's name, not yours.

Points: 0/0
Coupons:
Companions: 0/4

This entire section can be left blank. Points are what you earn in the RP and can be used to buy jutsu, weapons, and so on. Coupons are close to points, but are used on jutsu or weapons. Companions are explained here, but you are not normally able to start out with a companion, so they can be ignored for now.

NAME
NICKNAMES

[NINDO]

For this part, you'll replace each of the words with what fits. Names have to be Japanese-ish, and are in the Japanese format of last name first. Nicknames should be explained on why they have them, either in the jutsu section (by what jutsu they use) or in the history. Nindo is just a motto that your character lives by.

Age:

This is just the age of the character. Genin cannot be younger than 12 years old. Chuunin cannot be younger than 15 years old. Jounin cannot be younger than 18 years old.

Quote:

Gender:
Height:
Weight:
Hair:

These are all pretty basic. The only exception is with Hair. You need to at least put the color, style, and length of the character's hair.

Quote:

Eyes:

Due to the existence of doujutsu, eye colors and types are scrutinized a little bit more than other physical parts of the application. Eye colors and shapes must be normal human types. Other eye types are only for doujutsu or other special anomalies.

Physical Features:
Clothing/Accessories:
Forehead Protector:

Pretty normal stuff. Physical features includes things like scars, tattoos, body type, and things like this. For the forehead protector, you don't have to wear one, but if you don't wear one, if you're a village ninja, you need to have the village symbol prominent somewhere on your body.

Quote:

Personality:

This is the personality of the character. It should make sense for whatever you're aiming for, so a bloodthirsty genin in Konoha won't really fly. It should at least be a paragraph in length.

Picture:

Pictures are not required and if you don't want to put one, you can delete this section. If the picture is big, however, you should put spoiler tags around it, so it doesn't stretch the page.

One big thing, though, is that you cannot use pictures from popular media, such as, but not limited to, video games, manga, anime, comics, movies, and so on. If it's noticeable, you'll be asked to remove the picture.

Rank:

Unlike other sites, at NSRP you are able to start at the following ranks: Genin, Chuunin, Special Jounin, Jounin, D, C, B, and A ranked Missing Nin. Each of these has different benefits, as you earn more stats by starting at a lower rank.

Quote:

Village:

This is the village that your character is from. If they are a missing ninja, you still put the village, but then use [s][/s] tags around it.

The villages that you can choose are: Konohagakure no Sato, Sunagakure no Sato, Iwagakure no Sato, Kumogakure no Sato, and Kirigakure no Sato. If you want to be from a minor village, look here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/Naruto_Saigen_RP/topic/4623237/

Chakra Affinity:
Second Chakra Affinity:

This is for your character's elemental affinities. With the exception of Fusion clan members, Genin/D Ranked Missing Ninja start with one element (Katon, Suiton, Doton, Raiton, or Fuuton). Chuunin/C Ranked Missing Ninja and Special Jounin/B Ranked Missing Ninja start with one element, but they are able to buy another after start up. Jounin/A Ranked Missing Ninja are able to start with two elements and are able to buy a third after creation.

Stats
  • Ninjutsu:
  • Taijutsu:
  • Genjutsu:
  • Stamina:
  • Control:
  • Strength:
  • Speed:
  • Wit:

Stats are parameters to show what your ninja excels at or is bad at. Most of the stats are pretty easy and basic, but for clarification:

  • Ninjutsu is how well your character can use and recognize ninjutsu.
  • Taijutsu is how well your character can use Taijutsu skills, while also being how well they can control their body.
  • Genjutsu is how well your character can use and repel Genjutsu. See here for more information.
  • Stamina is both your character's physical stamina and how much chakra that they have.
  • Control is how well your character can use and manipulate chakra. Those with low control will end up spending more chakra for jutsu, while those with higher control will be much more precise. This can also change the speed of some jutsu.
  • Strength and Speed are exactly what they say.
  • Wit is the only stat that is relative to your rank, based on the average of the rank. An average Wit stat for the character's rank would be someone of average intelligence and thinking ability. Above average and below average follow the same trend.

As with Jutsu, you start out with a different amount of stats, based on the rank you are at. Genin start with 24. Chuunin start with 40. Special Jounin start with 48. Jounin start with 56. MN of an equivalent rank start with that rank's stats.

At start up, Genin have a max of 6. Chuunin have a max of 9. The other two have a max of 10. The minimum for any stat is 1.

Equipment:

Equipment are the weapons, armor, and other important objects that your character carries. While we don't have a direct limit, if you have too much, a moderator might ask you to remove some. It also depends on the character. Taijutsu characters are given a bit more leeway, while Genjutsu users aren't.

Special weapons (those with abilities of their own) are able to be gotten at start up, but they are normally weak versions. If you want a full special weapon, you will have to use points to buy it.

Lastly, you are able to have a maximum of 15 explosive items. This includes explosive tags, flash bombs, and smoke bombs.

For more information about weapons, click here.

Combat Style

This is how your character fights. If you have styles from our archives, you will need to copy and paste the style description here. A character is able to have multiple fighting styles.

If you have a style, you need to have at least 3 jutsu from that style.

Quote:

Abilities:

Abilities are things that are given to characters that separates them from others. Each roleplay character starts with 3 abilities and cannot get more, ever, so don't try to load on as many as you can at start up.

Mostly abilities are divided into different sub-divisions. They are Extensions, Body Mods, Clans, and Copyrights. For more information, and to see the archived abilities, click this link.

You are able to make up custom abilities and clans. Clans have to be registered before the character, though, and we normally recommend you have a character before you start on a clan, because we are pretty strict with clans.

Also, characters can only be in one clan and you must be from the same village as the clan. No dual clans and no village hopping.

Jutsu:

This is one of the most important sections of the application, and is the one checked on new characters.
Characters are able to start with jutsu, based on their rank.

  • Genin start with 10 jutsu, with a maximum of 4 C rankeds. D Ranked Missing Ninja start with 15 jutsu, but have a maximum of 4 C rankeds.
  • Chuunin are able to start with 15 jutsu, but are unable to get A rankeds. C Ranked Missing Ninja are able to start with 20 jutsu, but are unable to get A rankeds.
  • Special Jounin are able to start with 20 jutsu, but are unable to get S ranked jutsu. B Ranked Missing Ninja are able to start with 25 jutsu, but are unable to get S ranked jutsu.
  • Jounin are able to start with 25 jutsu, and are limited to 1 S ranked jutsu. A Ranked Missing Ninja are able to start with 27 jutsu, and are limited to 1 S ranked jutsu.

As a reminder, this list is only for the start up amounts. After you are accepted, you are able to get as many jutsu as you want, with the rank limits described here.

You are able to get custom (jutsu made up by you or others) or archive jutsu. We do not differentiate between the two types. However, with archive jutsu (represented by * in the name) and archive clan jutsu (represented by ~ in the name), we prohibit anyone from changing any part of the jutsu. This is because they are meant to be preapproved jutsu that moderators do not have to look at and help the approval process move along faster. Here is a link to the jutsu archives.

The ability to use jutsu depends on your stats. With a stat of 1 (in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu), you are able to use D ranked jutsu of that type. C ranked jutsu require 3. B ranked jutsu require 5. A ranked jutsu require 7. S ranked jutsu require 9. Some jutsu have other requirements, though, and those need to be fulfilled.

Finally, jutsu are done in a pyramid fashion. In order to have a higher rank jutsu, you need at least one more of the lower rank. For example, to have a C ranked Genjutsu, you must have 2 D ranked Genjutsu. Each 'type' of jutsu has its own pyramid. General ninpou do not help your Katon, for example.

History

The last part of the application is the history. This is where you write out your character's backstory. Genin should have at least 1 good paragraph, with other ranks increasing from there. The history will need to make sense in the world, so a genin should not be killing missing ninja and going out to save the world. Missing ninja need to actually have reasons for leaving the village, rather than doing it on a whim. Basic stuff like this.

With all that complete, post your application here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/Naruto_Saigen_RP/forum/547108/ Mods will try to check it when they are able to. If you don't respond in 7 days from posting your application, it will be denied. If this happens, you are free to repost it, with the changes that were requested.
