Clans Clans are groups of people that are normally related and share some sort of unique jutsu or have a bloodline. Mods are a lot harder on clans than they are on characters, so it's normally better to have your first character be from an already accepted clan or not from a clan at all. To be in a clan, you must start in the clan. You are not able to start with a character, then add on a clan later, as clans are something that one is born into. The list of clans at NSRP are located here and a short description of all the clans is located here. Clans must be located in a village, and are not able to 'move' to another. Clans have to have more than just a few members, so no clans where your character is the last member. Additionally, clans must do something that others cannot do. They are not able to just do something 'better' than someone else that isn't in the clan. What a clan does should be able to be easily summarized in a few words. Finally, all clans take up an ability slot. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member. This will be a quick run through the Clan template.
This is the surname of your clan. All clan members will have this as their family name.
These are any traits that separates your clan out from other people. Do they have different colored hair? Do they all have tattoos on their backs? Things like this.
This is your clan's symbol. Normally it is worn on a clan member's attire, showing off the pride that they have in their family.
This is the village that the clan is from. It must be limited to one village.
This is the relative size of the clan. This can range from Small (10 or so families), Medium (30 families), to Large (100 families).
This is the most vague section of the template. Really, this space is for your use if you see anything needs to be defined. This can range from defining what your clan does, defining words that you'll use often, and things like that.
This would be for any requirements your clan has, such as stat or jutsu requirements.
This is where you list your clan's bloodline limit. It should easily summarize what the clan can do. Try to keep it as short as you can, while still covering anything that needs to be covered. Remember, though, a bloodline just shows what is possible. It rarely, if ever, directly gives benefits, except in the cases of some doujutsu.
This is the part where you list some of the clan's jutsu to be placed in the archives with it. These jutsu should only be jutsu that one has to be in the clan in order to use. Clans must have at least 10 jutsu.
Here is where you list the history for your clan. |

Clans have to have more than just a few members, so no clans where your character is the last member. Logically, however, clans do not always end up together, and evolve in different forms. This means that clans with similar abilities can exist in multiple places as long as the end result of their ability is different (Aburame in Konoha, with Kamizuru in Iwa for example.) Additionally, clans must do something that others cannot do. They are not able to just do something 'better' than someone else that isn't in the clan. What a clan does should be able to be easily summarized in a few words. Clans on the forum are strictly defined as a family with a unique genetic trait or hidden style that is not able to be mimicked by simple analysis, or advanced techniques (Sasuke isn't able to Sharingan copy Akimichi techniques due to their incredibly unique nature, despite not being a genetic trait). This means a family of shinobi can be made IC, but unless they have a unique trait that makes them a clan, they are simply a family with shared techniques. Finally, all clans take up an ability slot. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member. This will be a quick run through the Clan template.

Follow that, this means multiple forms of a fusion could exist (Katon+Fuuton being Heat or Scorch, Doton+Katon being Lava or Explosions), while also allowing multiple copies of the same fusion to exist (Lava being Rubber in Iwa, but burning in Kiri in the canon) ^ Really really really really really dislike this. Look at Fusion Genma. Look at its ability. Relook at this. Besides that, having a clear-cut 10 or w/e is nice. It prevents a bit of 'creativity' but they are easily able to be done the cement -clan way, rather than shoehorning it all into a 'everything goes' system. With sites that have this, people try to make everything under the sun a fusion release, for multiple reasons, which is a nogo. |

Fusion Genma sticks to the core 10, dunno how this makes that any less obvious. And it doesn't say we can't still reject ideas. If something just isn't a fusion material, or functionally ineffecitve, we'd explain that to them. If it's a viable fusion and a mod just doesn't like it, that's a personal problem. |

Right, but then you lose a LOT of flavor of the fusion genma, which isn't really needed for what we get. There are ways to do pseudofusions without having that much of a gap there. Cement-clan shows how this works. With that, we get into 'what are the core 10?' along with people wanting to make a plasma element.

I don't like it either, it makes sense to just have a nice clean set 10 clans and then just have things like cement the way Orius said. |
