Puppets

Puppets are normally limited to Suna, through the use of the Puppetry style. There can be other methods, however, anything relating to chakra strings falls under that style. For the most part, puppets are non-living constructs that are controlled by chakra.

Once you have the puppetry ability, it takes up 4 of your companion slots. The number of puppets that you can own is determined by your rank.

In order to control a puppet, you will need Control. Your control stat determines how many puppets you can control at once with your normal, natural fingers.

Puppets have different stats and amounts compared to other companions. Additionally, they only require one payment: points. Once you have enough points, you can buy a new puppet.

The stats that puppets have is also different than other types of applications. The four stats are:

  • Durability - This shows how much damage a puppet can handle. It's treated as an opposite of a strength stat.
  • Mobility - This is how fast the puppet can cover distance. It is treated like the speed stat, for the purpose of distance covering.
  • Strength - This is how strong the puppet is. This is a direct cross over from any other strength stat.
  • Deftness - This is how fast the parts of the puppet can move, ranging from hidden weapons, projectiles, or even arms and legs.

C127 points

A2425 points

For the most part, puppets are -not- able to have abilities. If you want an ability for a puppet, you will need to have a human puppet, which requires the ability.

Ranking up puppets currently pertains to making the puppet more deadly, so like it gets more weapons etc.
I dunno how well it could translate but maybe paying to add weapons/upgrades to the puppets increases the stats and then at a certain point it ranks up.
For example: You get a kunai launcher and like 10 kunai so deftness goes up by I dunno lets say 5.

OR

Have it the other way around kind of and make you pay for upgrades which increase the stats and at certain intervals you get an upgrade in terms of weapons or whatever other equipment you have on that puppet.
For example: You have 4 stats at E-Rank and so only have a limited number of weapons/complexity, lets say you increase its overal stats by 2 so its stronger but not quite enough to improve in complexity but say you reach 8 or higher, its enough to increase in complexity and rank up at the same time.
Now the current stats are so small it only makes sense to increase in complexity at rank up stage unlike what I was thinking with smaller upgrades along the way but if the stats were to increase then I'm thinking small little upgrades along the way work, since currently you can add a few extra weapons without ranking up.

I'm thinking my second suggestion makes most sense but maybe both could be combined so like you add a few weapons with extra points like how my Enjinkouhei can shoot 1 kunai as an extra right now without ranking up.
