Sardinian alpinist climbing the highest peaks in the 7 continents After the recent mountaineering feats by the Sassari's alpinist Giacomo Deiana (26 years old) who has reached the peaks of several unclimbed mountains on the Andes and Patagonia as the Cerro Torre, now another sardinian climber called Angelo Lobina from Nuoro, is going to end his mountaineering challenge, called “Sardegna 7Summit” , which consists in the climbing of the highest peaks in the seven continents. He trained for years between the rush canyons and rock walls of Sardinian Supramontes and the highest peaks of the Alps. He reached the Aconcagua (the highest peak in the Americas) in january 2014, the Elbrus (highest mountain in Europe) in july 2014, the Kilimangiaro in november 2014 and the Carstensz Pyramid, in Papua New Guinea in november 2015. Lately a lot of sardinians are undertaking mountaineering missions! 2 years ago a climber from Oristano has reached the top of the Everest. ![]() |
