Madonna Believes the Elixir of Life Can Be Found in Sardinia

Sardinia is an Italian Island located in the Mediterranean Sea, and after Sicily, it’s the second largest island in this sea. Sardinia is perfect for nature lovers, mountain climbers and explorers, except for the area Costa Smeralda – a spot for the rich and famous.

But, this paradise is not only known for it’s white sandy beaches and amazing turquoise sea. Sardinia is also an island in the Blue Zone – known for the longevity, where men live up to 100 years.

Fascinated by the phenomenon, the queen of pop, Madonna, started looking for a home on the Italian island. Sardinia is well-known to the star. At the beginning of her solo career, in 1983, she had a concert, at the disco in the region Samassi. In 2002, she starred in the movie Swept Away, filmed in Sardinia, directed by her husband (at the time) Guy Ritchie.

Local newspaper stresses that longevity in Sardinia, is the subject of observation and analysis of many international scientists.

The hot spot for the longevity is in the mountain area of Sardinia, in the central eastern part of the island. The mountainous environment and the rocky terrain are not acceptable for agriculture, and many men are usually shepherds, taking care of their sheep and relaxing in the fresh air.

Climbing on the steep hills is another beneficial activity, contributing to the well-being of Sardinian men. They are also known to keep the family together and respect the family traditions.

Madonna is looking for the elixir of life – emphasized by the Italian press. However, finding the right home won’t be that simple. Celebrities from all over the world invaded this island, looking for their perfect home in Sardinia.

It's genetic above all. Diet and life style play only a small role in longevity of sardinians.
