Arya was not entirely sure what had happened from there. Before she had quite known it, the sun had fallen beyond the distant reaches of the mountains, and her body lay lengthwise with a warm figure at her back, a crackling fire before her, and a thick fur beneath them, protecting her flesh from the cold stone. She allowed her eyes to fall closed, reveling instead on the tiny details of the moment. She could feel a hand slowly running through her pale hair, as well as an acute warmth radiating from the body that had itself wrapped around her. One that, seemed to hold on as if it never wanted to let go again: one that would fight, and perhaps even give its very life to keep her that way.

The ecstasy had not yet worn off from earlier, though she had expected the feeling to have died with the night. They had, at some point, made it to the top of the overgrown bell tower and materialized a fire, only to disappear beneath the cover of a warm blanket and a black, starry sky not much later.

Her mind was in a haze. It was not in the way to process solid thought, but rather, experience a few, general ideas, though for the most part, live on the feeling of emotion, both shared and her own. Very few words had passed between the two of them since that morning, but then, none had quite been needed.

Letting out a breath, she receded beneath the blanket further, highly aware of the warm arms that wrapped tightly around her body. The earthy, musky aroma that lingered on his flesh enveloped her in a sense of lull. She felt safe. She felt reassured.

With a soft sound, she slowly pivoted in his embrace, burying her face against his chest and breathing deeply his scent.

And there he laid, with the pale, cool figure that had now buried into his chest breathing deeply in her slumber. And he laid there..in complete bliss, running his hand through her hair while the other glided up and down her side, the huge grin unable to escape his face, the happiness that had entirely engulfed his being now was sinking in. He had found her..the one he would give his life for her mere happiness, and here they were. Bodies entangled beneath the warm blankets, with this gorgeous night sky above..could it be more perfect? He sighed as he sank down into the fur beneath them, but not wanting to fall asleep, he wanted to live in this moment for as long as he could..so he laid there..listening to the steady rhythm of her breathing, and feeling the steady beat of her heart.

When she woke, the sun was beginning to rise. It took her a moment to assess where she was, and yet another to figure out in what way that was. It all flooded back into her mind as her eyes began to focus. She noted how the rays peaking over the distant sea seemed to chase the starts back into the heavens, and with them, chase her whimsical imaginings back into the chest from whence they had come.

Something had continued to thrive within however, and that something remained very much alive, even as her walls began to fall in place, and the chains linked the doors closed. It remained intact throughout the process, like a link or a whisper through a crevice too miniscule to see.

The last thing that she wished to do was to slide from the arms that lay ever-present around her body, or brave the chilly air that she knew lay just outside the confines of the warm bed he had made for them, but she also knew very well that there were things yet to be addressed, and things that had to be taken care of, before someone else decided to take it on themselves.

By now, the fire had long-since died, a few glowing embers remaining embedded into the gray ash. Things within her mind tried to battle with the decisions she had made not a day before. A few of which had been the very thoughts that had kept her at bay for weeks on end.

Foremost was the aspect of her deceased lover. Over and over she felt that she ought to remain faithful to that bond; that promise. But again and again, something rose to the back of her mind. Perhaps that was the cause of her distress, because she knew in her heart, beneath the memories, something had been awry. That night in the clearing, so many months and years ago, he had left her. Aerum had left her to die there, surrounded by those dozens of men, to save himself.

Arya had not been able to come to terms with this. She could not accept it- having thrown away her life, her family, her culture- her entire way of life.. for someone who had cast her away and sacrificed she herself for his own survival. At this moment she realized everything. Accepting that fact would have been coming to terms with what had been blatantly laid out before her. Before, she had felt as if any infringement upon her bond with him, whether he were dead or alive, would be a betrayal, even though the betrayal had been of his own doing. Or more, should she had dismissed everything that he had been to her, it in its entirety would be rendered forgotten and she would have relinquished the fantasies that painted him a better picture than the truth. She remembered that night, when those men overcame her. How they bound her arms and legs, ripped the very clothes from her body. She remembered the pain-the agony they caused her. The blood and the pulsing pain that echoed through her head, her limbs.. She was sure that she was going to die there that night.. Her mind had conjured so many things- so many reasons, so many.. She stopped herself. Her mind had only allowed her to think of everything - anything, but that possibility. That possibility that was the only possible choice within rational thought. She had been left to die by the one person she had given everything to.

..but

..here, even as she lay alongside this wolven creature, she still held a piece of that past. That hopeful past that it would be alright. A piece, she was sure now, would never be forgotten, or the pain be dulled in any sense of the word, but in turn, she also embraced the present.. and perhaps the prospect of any future that may be had. This man. This Lycan. This incredible, unlikely meeting would be her second chance. Perhaps one that would open horizons, and heal the thudding pain of rejection and above all, the traitorous act that had left what had been her most deeply rooted trust shattered to pieces.

Perhaps she would never trust her heart with another so fully again, but here and now, she had settled the wrath in her heart, and perhaps, just maybe- she might be able to move forward.

..somehow
..the two had balanced.
..the two were at peace.

Letting out a breath, she slowly undid herself from the arms that encased her, sitting up into the crisp morning air. Small ridges rose up on her skin as a chill crept over her flesh, and her eyes trailed over to the dark jacket lying next to them that had been on her person for the last weeks. She often wondered about its properties. Enchanted, she was almost sure.

Indeed, it had not been formally given to her. More, she had somewhat taken it on an unspoken agreement. Grey was clearly aware of its presence-he had laid eyes upon her often enough to know, but nor had he said a word for or against it. She had been almost grateful for that small small detail. He having mentioned it would have forced her into giving it back or discarding it entirely, out of her undying sense of pride. Perhaps he knew that.

It was not until now, at this moment that she had fully become aware, or allowed herself to become aware as to why it was that she had kept it. It was a piece of him. Perhaps she had not been able to indulge in that sense of attraction before, so she had clung to the next closest material object for a sense of comfort.

..silly.
..trivial.
You sound like a cub.

Letting out a breath, she ignored her conscience, and reached out, drawing the garment towards her and slipping into the sleeves.

He sat up as she was sliding the jacket over her shoulders, catching a small glimpse of the smooth skin across her back then she turned to him, a serious yet blissful look still lingering on her face. He stood, quickly sliding into his clothes before pressing his lips to her forehead. Sliding behind her he wraps his arm around he waist staring off to the sunrise in the distance, the smile still not leaving his face "..shall we find Ellis?"

Arya silently watched the man as he slowly slid into his outer clothing. Last night had been more than she could have ever imagined it to have been. Her grey eyes followed him even as he moved towards her, his pale arms sliding around and encircling her waist. She made a soft noise at the contact, placing a cool palm against one of the forearms now pressed against her abdomen.

She did not answer him for a long while, instead, let her eyes fall closed and a sense of warmth envelop her. She was bridled, yes. It would stay that way both because of her nature and what she chose.. but somehow, right in this moment, she felt free. Almost as if a great weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She thought back through the past months to their spats, and even their close-calls, several of which ended in a bloody conflict, and most of which had to do with being nearly a hairsbreadth from taking the others’ life.

..the irony of it all. Polar opposites continue to fight with each other just as they were drawn together. It did not make sense and it did not work entirely, and that in itself was the sole reason that relations between the two races were vastly considered a taboo.

Always interesting how younger generations questioned and challenged the ways of the older generations.

Letting out a breath, she leaned her head back against him, opening her eyes to the rising sun, “..yes. I do believe that will be in order.”

Never before had he taken the time to appreciate the beauty of the country side surrounding colhen, but after they made their way down from the tower and began the walk back to the small town, it all seemed to sink in. How beautiful the forest was, the clear view of the gorgeous sky above, the view of the ocean that spread as far as the eye could see, "amazing.." he muttered. Normally he would have simply let the beast within take control, drop on all four of his legs and make it back to town in mere minutes, but this time, he was content to enjoy his walk and take in every single second they had together before addressing the serious matters that were planned for the day, but for now, it was just the two of them he sighed in relief as he entwined his fingers with hers, holding her hand simply for the sake of the touch.

Arya's fingers tightened around his hand. They were warm, compared to her skin that always seemed so much cooler than any temperatures around her-though a comfort. It felt good. The simple embrace was not uncomfortable- and nor did she feel the need to shy away, even as they began to near the gates of town.

As the shadow of the overhang began to dip over their bodies, she made a quick decision, and before her subconscious had the time to chastize the bright and frivolous side that had been suppressed for so long, she pulled him to the side, gently pushing him up against a stone pillar facing the way that they had come. Her lips moved eagerly upward, and she found herself pushing her body up onto her toes, searching for his mouth.

Smiling as she pushed into him he leaned his head down slightly and pressed his lips into her own, savoring that spark.. The flames that slowly danced across his lips, his mind flashing to the previous night.. Their bodies entwined in a mass of flesh, his smile never leaving his face for a second as he pulled back for a moment to take a look into those eyes.. He could have stared into them forever without a second thought.. Instead he reached down grabbing her around her thighs as he picked her up and spun around several times before lowering her slightly only to feel that connection again as he pressed his lips to hers once more ".. Funny how things work.. Isn't it?" a slight smile spreading across his lips and he placed her back on the ground lacing his fingers between hers once more.. "the beginning of the fall.." he kissed her forehead "shall we?"

Arya wrapped her arms up around his neck as his lips lingered over her own. She was keenly aware of his hands securing her thighs firmly against his body, just as a familiar fiery heat began to climb through her veins. One that, until the night before, she had thought died with something long past. Even as he let her slide down to her own feet and took her hand, she kept her body close. She could feel the brilliant anticipation that flashed from within her eyes, even as she replied, "Lets shall."

With less time than it would have taken a mortal to blink, she leapt through the air, propelling her body in a way that sent him with her, and in an instant, they were deeper within the trees that lined Colhen's western wall. The stone wall that had been sun-bleached further near the entrance was now cool with the morning air, though she hardly noticed the sudden drop in temperature. She could feel the ghost of his fingers clenched around her thighs just moments before his resignation.

It was odd to her- strange, the urgency that now overrode her earlier worries about the goings on with the mercenaries and Royal Guard. Somehow the dark anxiety that ever-plagued her every move seemed to crumble under this strange new development. She felt unreigned, and unhindered by the demons that had haunted her for so long. And it was new to her. It was exhilarating.

As Arya's feet just barely landed on the dry soil of the forest floor, she pressed him up against the stone wall once more, and with more urgency, her lips moved quickly to his exposed throat in hunger. She was sent further by the scent of his blood pulsing just below the skin there, and desperation began to immix with the sudden need that captivated her mind and body. Her breath came out arily, "..don't we.. have a few minutes..?" The tip of her tongue trailed over his hot flesh as she allowed her mouth to move upward to the corner of his jaw.
