What I Am

I desire enlightenment, therefore I have not reached it.

Success.

The final apex of success, immediately preceding terminal failure, is when people start discriminating against themselves.

Redundancy.

The Soul doesn't change; it's the unaware human mind that sometimes does.
If it changes enough, it might even discover it has a Soul.
Changing still more, it becomes its Soul, thus putting itself right out of business.

Caring.

Caring isn't something you do; it's something you are.
And under no circumstances is it ever something you display, or accuse others of not doing.

Custom History.

The customization of history doesn't change history; it changes only the fools who do it, into nothings who can never know themselves, or from whence they came.

About youth.

The best sign that you've lived plenty and aged well is that you don't wish to be young again.

Don't Hold On, Don't Let Go

Posted by Sacred Fire (Adepts) at Jul 29 2017, 11:19 AM. 0 comments

Holding on is bad, because you strain and grip and end up screwing it all up because you clamped down too hard. Letting go is bad, because you just sit there like a lump, or do whatever feels good at the moment, with no foresight.

There is an old Zen koan about this - "How do you grasp something with your hands always open?"

Don't hold on, don't let go.

Seriously.

The greatest mistake you can make, is to take yourself seriously; the second greatest, is to take others seriously.

In Love

if you think you’re in love, then you are a sucker.

Unnatural.

The idea that it is somehow important for us to become completely unnatural, is at the root of what it has taken to destroy an otherwise perfectly decent civilization.
