Ha :) You got that right, Kemosabe.
Have you had any success finding the 'off-switch' yet?

There seems to be a bit of a problem with my 'off-switch', although actually, it's more like a gun-trigger in my case.
Sometimes I am almost certainly 'switched off'. At other times, I don't lack feeling but the senses aren't so raw,
and many people refer to me as that really calm guy with the beard.

Suddenly, it's 'on' again.
And it's like walking back into a room and saying:
"Well that's odd, I don't remember leaving that light on".

I've found that once you've succeeded in completely shutting down the mind, it gets to like being retired from use, and rarely stirs again.
This notion thoroughly upsets the active mind, since mind and ego are so closely intertwined. The very idea that the vehicle it thinks itself indispensable-to, can actually function a lot better without it, is enough to seriously unhinge it, and even other minds in proximity to it.

I don't think I've ever seen mind without ego, or ego without mind. I'm beginning to suspect that some ruse has been set up... Could there ever really be two? Someone's been pulling wool over their own eyes, and I'm pretty damn sure it's a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Mind is a useful tool. Ego is the unhealthy use to which mind is put.
Eliminate ego, and mind gets to be a useful tool again.
Pretty advanced stuff, apparently. Very, very few can manage it.
