An inborn preference to maintain honor and dignity, and an aversion to rottenness.

Too true. And a sense beyond the average five, that detects what the others can not.

That explains it, it's a sense, and not a thought or theory. For my entire life I've been confronted by others why I am how I am. I struggled to offer explanation. Many are displeased by my aversion to dishonor, some even angered, some confused, a precious few that are interested and those so far I have yet to meet, understand.

I too, am big on honor. I know exactly what it is, but it's not an easy thing to convey to one who does not have it. It sounds silly to them, like religion sounds silly to an atheist. They don't get it. And, not getting it, ridicule it instead. You know the routine, I'm sure.

Honor is a facet of reverence. Awareness of the harm one can do by carelessness. Controlled awe, perhaps. Alertness and focus. And, as you have said, sensitivity.
