Master: "Did you know I masturbate sometimes?"
Student: "!?"
Master: "Do you imagine the body suddenly stops being what it is, when it learns it is only a vehicle?"
Student: "But Master, is this not self abuse?"
Master: "You could call it that; then again, why would you call it anything?"
Student: "So that we may know what is good, and what is not?"
Master: "Thus judging some things good, and others bad?"
Student: "Is some judging virtuous?"
Master: "You tell me; is it?"
Student: "It would appear to be, wouldn't it?"
Master: "Must we always phrase our answers as questions?"
Student: "I'm not sure I follow; weren't we discussing the qualities of masturbation?"
Master: "Are we not masturbating now?"
Student: "What do you mean, Master?"
Master: "Don't you know what I mean?"
Student: "Don't you know that I don't know what you mean?"
Master: "Certainly I do; I had wondered if you did. Do you?"
Student: "I am sorry, Master, I really don't know."
Master: "You show humility. To admit not-knowing is the gateway to knowing."
"Squawk!" said the crow, and then made space.

Before I would have said of course not, it is quite relaxing, but now I see the dangers.

Thank you, I can now masturbate in peace, knowing it won't throw me off the spiritual path :)

Spoken like a Master. People often wonder about such things, never ask, and suffer guilt.
Let the body do what the body does. If it overdoes it, it will die.
But you will not.

Student: Master, what is humility?
Master: Humility is your purpose.
Student: Master, I do not understand.
Master: This is good. Humility does not come from understanding.
Student: Where does humility come from?
Master: From the Soul.
Student: It comes from the Soul; but what is it?
Master: Humility is your purpose.
Student: Thank you, Master. I will contemplate this.
Master: Don't try too hard.
"Squawk!" said the crow, and then made space.

There is no sense of victory, or triumph, in attainment of the most lofty peak a human could ever hope to climb.
Finding himself, suddenly upon the apex of existence, he discovers he hadn't even made it to his feet.

Humility.

I have my own "non-spiritual" habits. Like beer. I don't get sloshed anymore, not out of morality but because I'm getting too old for it as evidenced by the fact that my hangovers last the whole day instead of the first few hours.

"Did you know I drink beer sometimes?"
"Isn't that self abuse?"
"Hurry up and get me a Guinness. Get you one, too."

There are no "immoral" or "moral" habits. If you have your eyes open, it's clear immediately whether or not something is beneficial.

Keep the swearing at a minimum, especially in the hallowed grounds.
