When America's founding fathers laid out The Constitution, they operated within the context of their day. It made sense, then, and would now, but for one thing... The founding fathers could never have imagined a time in which at least fifty percent of the population would have become insane. Having free, upstanding, honorable, and true people keeping, and bearing arms, is one thing. Having hordes of unstable lunatics armed with the latest in automatic weapons, is another. |

This appears to all outside of America as a madness that only an American can understand. My brother (who lives in NJ) never drives a car without a pistol in the glove box. Astounded me the first time I saw it. |
