The New-Age: no depth. The illusion of depth. A post justification. In a word; dishonest. What is defined as spirituallity is manipulation of universal law for material, emotional, psychological gain. Dishonest Technique; techniques to manifest what one "thinks". Spirituality Sells and the control continues. The illusion of thinking, that false life; takes one more step. Now you dont have to live just in your head, you can justify your "thinking" by creating it. This isnt necessarily bad. However, in all my interactions with those identified with New Age Spirituallity: Intuition remains dormant. The mystery fades, And the soul is replaced with an unreliable replica. One that can be destroyed. |

I'd say that pretty much sums it up. Well observed, and excellently reported. Sometimes a replica can be as good as, or even better, than what it represents; in this case though, it is unfit for purpose, and does untold collateral damage. |

I stupidly got talked into going to a new age festival. I was shocked at how little spirituality was there and how much hard sell. Yet there were people with flowing robes and odd hair do's, in a cloud of pleasure at what they were experiencing. Very shallow and very venal was how I thought about it afterwards. |

It's not easy to recognize fake, if you're unable to recognize real. |
