Unless you are what you wish to understand, you have not the means to understand it. Are scientists The Universe? They are not. Yet they seek to understand The Universe. The only humans capable of understanding such a thing, are the mystics. By becoming mystics, they approach being The Universe. The degree of understanding the mystic may attain, is contingent upon his degree of mysticism. The true mystic is an enlightened being. An all-or-nothing state. He has laid down his humanity in exchange for being Everything. The knowledge he gains from so doing, is known as Dharma. Unlike any other kind of knowledge, Dharma is the ultimate self-knowledge, extending far beyond one's material and mental self, out to the furthest reaches of the unknowable. This unknowable is known not by learning it, but by becoming it. All others who would gain knowledge, lack the rudimentary knowledge that would enable such knowledge. Knowledge of self. Know yourself, and there is no limit to what you may know. Such things are only truly known, by not-knowing them. Gobbledegook? Perhaps. 'Paradoxical' might be more accurately applicable. |
