I used to wonder, in history class, how on earth Neanderthals died out.
How incredibly sad to have been the last one.

Now I see how it came about. Neanderthals, Cro Magnons, Homo Sapiens, all have their day in the sun, and then their sun sets.
I never expected to see the extinction of what I believed to be my own species, in my own lifetime.

Maybe I'll get lucky, and miss the finale.
Or maybe not.
