"Self".

It's easy to misunderstand this notion of 'Self'.
Because it must be eliminated, to attain enlightenment.
Only then may one appreciate what 'Self' really is: a necessary part of The Whole, rather than the whole thing, in itself.

Nothing in the Spiritual Realm exists to be looked-at.
Everything in the Spiritual Realm exists to be.

By removing attention from oneself, one becomes more self-aware.
Again: if it's paradoxical, it probably has something going for it.

That's not too obviously clear, is it?
Removing the attention of the mind from oneself, one becomes more aware: of self-within-Reality.
For the mind can not know things. It can only remember, and manipulate what it remembers.
Knowing comes from intuition, which is why so few people know anything.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by the Spiritual Realm? Do you use that term to differentiate from what one may call the "People Realm" or "Social Realm"? Or the physical realm?

Doesn't anything that exists, exist simply because it does? To use a popular phrase, "It is what it is"?

Good question; not easy to answer.
"Spiritual Realm", refers to what comprises the experience of meditation. The realm of the one who meditates.
The one who has sunk beneath everyday awareness, and soared into the ethereal.

It is the realm of non-visual sight. You don't look-at, or see things. You rather experience things, as you would experience being alive.

With courage and luck I may soon know, myself. I have reached a period of stagnation, and from my perspective only meditation has a chance to break it.

Onward to the Mojave...
