In Death.

There once was a man, being dead,
who'd escaped the dark jail of his head.
No longer chained, by his mind, he regained,
the life that he'd never yet led.

Finding himself without form,
he discovered that this was the norm.
for all who are free, to live eternally,
that there's nothing in death to be mourned.

"Squawk!" said the crow, and then made space.

Yes, it's true that being dead's no disease,
when you are, you may do as you please.
Untroubled by strife, so prevalent in life,
unburdened by I's, mine's and me's.

"Now, who am I?" you may enquire,
"and where are my needs, my desires?"
As your soul travels twice, around vast realms of light,
being pure energy, it never tires.

"I may stay here awhile", you decide.
Many eons elapse while you bide.
'til you live once again, in that earthly domain,
in a new way you hadn't yet tried.

It's not easy to get used to it.
These new fires of consciousness lit.
So you don't even try, waving yourself goodbye,
when it's gone, you don't miss it one bit.

It's fun to not know who you are.
You resemble a far distant star.
Twinkling and bright, in benevolent night,
seeming tiny when seen from afar.

And nothing is quite as it seems.
When it's seen through the mists of your dreams.
It's very forgiving, this life you've been living,
when you wake up, you'll know what it means.

"Squawk!" said the crow, and then made space.

It really is nothing, to die,
it's nothing that should make you cry.
But bear this in mind: everything in its time,
get it right, and you'll smile your "Goodbye".

Then it's off to the everywhere when,
you get there, you'll find yourself then,
with the time on your hands, to offload your plans,
because nothing upon you depends.

It's all in that blink of an eye,
this moment of saying "Goodbye".
Nothing but peace, a final release,
and never again to ask "why?"
