My wife and I often adopt a cockney accent, slightly modified, perhaps, with a bit of South London, to deliver cliches to each other, followed by vast amusement at our mutual silliness.
We are, when we do this, simulating actual people that exist in London. They speak almost exclusively in cliches, and their accents are, in a word, awful.

You can't hear us do this hilariously unsavory thing, but you can attempt to imagine it, when we say things like:

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!"
"Never a dull moment!"
"Red sky at night, shepherd's delight!"
"Never miss a slice off a cut loaf!"
"There's many a slip, twixt cup and lip!"
"Better safe than sorry!"
"A stitch in time saves nine!"
"Every cloud has a silver lining!"

Etc.
