A light haired young man made his way through the busy, light blue and white hallways to his gray locker. He was dressed in an unzipped black leather jacket and had a blue T-shirt under it, his black backpack slung haphazardly across his back. Black earbuds were in his ears, blaring away "Ain't No Rest For the Wicked" as he walked unnoticed in the crowd of highschoolers. As he walked past a window, the beams of sunlight glinted off his glasses as he grinned. He had an odd feeling about today... It was going to be interesting at least. He walked up to his locker only to find a tall, lanky ginger haired young man grinning and leaning up against it. "Sup." He asked, smirking. The blond nodded, grinning slightly as well. "Well, not much mi amigo, just trying to get to my locker... you know, the one you're preventing me from getting to." He said, flicking his sandy hair out of his eyes. "Bah, but thats the fun part of the morning!" His ginger friend protested cheekily before standing up and letting him get to his locker. "I know, I know, you don't always get to make me jump for things but I'll make it up to you later. Maybe you can spar with me and we can pretend you aren't going to immediately kick my ass." His friend chuckled. "Off to history then?" he asked as his friend began to stuff his belongings unceremoniously into his backpack. "Yep, best way to start the day." The blond said as he slammed his locker shut and zipped up his backpack, glancing up at his friend but seeing a small, dark haired figure approach in a psuedo stealthy manner. "Gotcha!" The figure cried as she glomped the ginger from behind. "No you didn't!" The ginger protested as he turned around and hugged the girl. "IIIII got you!" Blondie shook his head and smirked to himself before turning towards class and leaving his best friend and his girlfriend far behind him. Another moment of that and he might've been sick to his stomach. He entered class five minutes till the bell was scheduled to ring and sat down in his usual place, right in the center front. He looked around the room and saw the usual crowd, a freshman or two, some sophmores and the rest were, like him, juniors. Zak grinned and listened to his music as he waited for the class to start. Something about today... was gonna be special. He knew it. |

A group of skinny girls wearing bright colors came in after him. They were gossiping about the most cliche thing in the world, one of the senior cheerleader's new shoes. Well what do you expect? Claira wouldn't tell them where she got them, of coarse they were going to talking. Well, they were talking, but one of them, Cam, would notice something far more interesting. Jessie Goodmen! Cam skittered over to him as fast as her heels would carry her and put her hands on his shoulders. He had switched into her class! life would be so good now, and hopefully she would be able to bear this class. With an excitedly high-pitched voice, she said, "You switched classes for meee!" "Actually I'm skipping biology. I'd rather spend a period with you than Mrs. Karson any day!" he said to her in a quiet, if nonetheless happy voice. The excitement seemed to drop from her face as instantly as her eyes dropped from his. "You can't skip for me, you have a football game to look forward to. We don't want our amaazing left tackle to be on academic probation." |

The elderly teacher looked at his classroom, filled with fresh young minds reasy to learn. But first they have to shut up and sit down. "QUIET DOWN!" He shouted and, much to his pleasure, most everybody silenced themselves almost immediately. Zak hastily took out his earbuds and sat stock still. "Now, today we'll be learning about the Civil War so sit down, shut your holes and listen to me even" he added looking in Jessie's direction "if you should be somewhere else at the moment." Zak glanced over at the gaggle of pretty girls and the handsome football player. Huh, skipping class? That wouldn't go over well... |

Jessie pointed at the clock and returned, "There's four minutes 'till the bell rings." The other girls, huddled at the opposite end of the table having sat down hoping to eavesdrop without looking like they were, had looks of horror along their faces. |

Zak's eyes widened. Ooooh thats not going to end well, he thought. He watched the old man get up and limp towards the table. "And its my class and we're going to start a little early. So, Mr. Goodmen, if you'd like to stay and take this class over again... After all, who knows, second times the charm.." he muttered, turning back and limping towards his seat and turning on his projector. |

"Okay," Jessie said. It would seem he had lucked out. I mean, the teacher gave him exactly what he wanted: the right to stay in class. Cam, however didn't feel so great about it. She squat down a bit, completely embarrassed about what was happening. |

"So, everybody, what can you tell me about the civil war?" Mr. Shaw asked, glancing up at them while typing in something on his laptop. Nobody answered and Zak literally heard a pen drop from behind him. He glanced around and saw a flustered looking brunette cheerleader scooping up her pen. "Anybody?" Asked Mr . Shaw. "Mr. Goodmen?" |

"Indeed it did." Mr. Shaw smiled. "But judging by your test scores I should have spent the whole semester on it for all the good it did... But, what about you, Ms. Cam, Ms. Clearwater?" He said addressing two of the cheerleaders. |

Cam felt like she was about to die from embarrassment. Judging by her boyfriend's face, she wasn't showing it. The ironic thing was that he was the only person who couldn't tell. Everything that she knew about the Civil War left her head, and though she was usaully a good A student, she would deliver one of the stupidest answers she could think of. "There were racists in the south." |
