A light breeze on a sunny day, a breeze which slowly swept across the grassy fields alongside a dirt road which led from the nearby town of Inori to the greater unknown of the Ovashi Plains. It was quite a beautiful day on this faithful days, birds heard chirping along with the light howl of the wind. It being a direct contract to something which lies on the side of the road just a short few miles out of town. A body, face down in the grass, blood polling, staining the beautiful grass a dark shade of crimson. The body belonged to a young woman by the name of Rin belonging to the family Ishida. A young woman who had been on a personal quest in the name of her Father, a young woman who would fail in this quest as she continued to lie there, eyes closed, her hands each grasping a large clump of grass them them, her sword at her side. She only sixteen years of age and on the verge of death as she continues to bleed out, she just barely remaining conscious, another with every moment that her blood continued to spill, she could feel thats slipping away. Her mind beginning to play back to the occurrence of just ten minutes ago. The duel she had entered with him, the Blonde Haired swordsmen. It having started just like any other duel except he had challenged her, seemingly to know of her or the stories in the least. Of course Rin wouldn't back down and welcomes the fight. Something which quickly escalated into more than just a friendly duel in a hurry. As she was quick to go on the offense, swinging her Katana with precision, aimed for the man, she was stunned when he just simply sidestepped her swipe with nothing more than a light chuckle escaping his lips. "Too slow..." He mocked which only irked the young Rin. The fight had proceeded in much of the same fashion, he dodging or reflecting much of Rin's attacks and quickly setting her back on the defense for the first time in her life since training with her Father. This only fueling the fire in her temper as she slowly began to lose technique and skill in her strikes and slowly began to use just brute force which only earned her a quick kick to the ribs, sending her to the ground, coughing as she desperately wanted the air back which had been driven from her lungs. Something which only got an annoyed sigh from him in response. "Your regressing, certainly you were taught better, or perhaps your mentor is just as big a failure as yourself, only a fool would think you were anything special to begin with." The main said and almost immediately a fire underneath Rin had been lit. Immediately she had forgotten all about the breath she needed, the duel itself, she just wanted to draw blood from this man who dare insult her Father so carelessly. So be it if he wanted to insult her, but he would NEVER get away with such things if she could have any sort of say in matter. Jumping back to her feet with a new breath, she immediately rushed this man and began to attack once more. The only problem with her assault while it seemed he was struggling a tad more with her now was that she was still just swinging wildly at the air, no technique or skill. Even more so now as she seemed to be blinded by pure rage at this point as she still couldn't land a hit on him. He still seemingly toying with her until finally he had enough of it and simply....disappeared? Almost immediately Rin began to look to her left and right, gritting her teeth as she let out a small growl in frustration to losing him. "Tsk tsk, such an angry one." His words rang out almost in a sing song fashion as she felt the cold steel of his blade likely tapping her on the shoulder. Without even thinking about it, she turned around only to immediately have said steel rammed through her body, the sword pushed through clean to the other side of her body through her gut. Immediately Rin had dropped her sword as blood began to seep through her lips at an alarming rate. As the sword was pulled free, she had quickly dropped to her knees before falling straight to her face as the man simply muttered "Pathetic" before walking away, leaving her to die. These memories recent in her mind began to haunt young Rin whole couldn't help but think to her Father and the failure, the dishonor she had brought his name by losing. Not being able to do anything to punish that man for the words he had chosen when addressing him. Here she was now, defenseless, dying, her heart practically tearing her apart. She would remain conscious long enough to see the first set of beings to find her fallen body, immediately displeased even from her current position of her face in the ground to see the unsavory characters of bandits which looked on with glee toward her fallen body. Immediately a feeling of dread overtook her weakening body as she watched them approach her, cackling as they looked her over. One eventually going to her right side and reaching to retrieve her sword. Something she would greet by allowing her grip on the grass to relinquish and grab hold of the hilt of her blade. Earning a hideous laugh from this group of five men. "Little bitch is still alive huh?" The one grabbing for her sword said with a sickening chuckle before immediately kicking her body in the ribs as punishment for her actions. Whilst she let out but a weak cry she wouldn't allow herself to let go. This only annoyed the man further and further as he continued to kick her over and over again, Each time her cries of pain getting weaker and weaker before finally someone stepped in. "Hey, hey take it easy, afterall, she's still alive right? Why not have a bit of "fun" while she's still breathing eh?" The ever proud Rin would not allow herself to cry, even as she heard these chilling words upon what they would consider fun on her body. Her hand never left her sword as these men all seemed to come to agree in what was suggested as to the fate of Rin. Edited by Shimura, Apr 16 2012, 05:46 PM.

A howl of wolves rippled across the area ... they were in a bad situation for sure. Suddenly the mercenaries, about seven of them that surrounded the pathetic young girl, stiffened as the sound of an answering howl echoed across the road. Then another, and another. Until a chorus of howls and snarls filled the air ... twenty sets of glinting yellow eyes filled the area, the men quickly backing up back to back in fear, after all ... even the strongest of beast fell to so many wolves. Then as they slowly crept forward, black, brown, and grey ... they revealed themselves slowly lips curled back in a terrifying snarl as drool ran down their thick furs, the man began to tremble slowly, each beast was at least four hundred pounds, eight feet long from tail to nose, and at least five feet tall each ... these weren't wolves, they were monsters!! ... But then came a happy sound, a haunting sound of a pipe flute as the wolves parted slowly beside the young girl. They noticed, the wolves ignored her, even seeming protective as the wolves snarled and snapped at the men instead, slowly from the clearing the wolves made to the girl, a young man came forward ... that could hardly be called a man. Walking with the haunting grace of what most would assume was an elf, he slowly moved forward as he played the song calmly, before tucking it away, his cold gaze finding the men with a slow arch of his eyebrow. Lobo's appearance is fairly rare for an elf, likely because unlike most he has been touched by the spirits of nature and altered into an Animalic Elf (Of course no one would know this, they were a 'race' rarely ever seen in anything but legends.), which has obviously altered him physically. As a general look, Lobo has blue-gray eyes that hold vertical pupils much like that of a wolf or a cat, a signature trait of the Animalic nature that resides in his veins and body. His hair is a dark brow chestnut color, that feels and looks much like the pelt of a wolf but instead of short and scruffy its long and wavy, the texture that of a a wolves pelt, thick, full, warm and soft but not silky like most human or elf hair is usually, its pleasant to the touch, exotic and odd but nothing like the hair a elf should have normally. At his chin he wears a thin Goatee that is thicker at the tip of his chin and then thins and fades as it covers the rest of his chin, the rest of his face is clean shaven except for slim sideburns that run down to just below his earlobes on ether side of his face. As far as his clothing goes, his upper body is covered in a brown fur-lined jacket over a double-breasted vest, while his legs are covered in some kind of dark leather like pants with Brown knee-high fur leggings covering his lower legs. His arms are covered in some kind of Brown elbow-length fur armbands that appears to end at his wrists, here are also ribbon-covered bandoleers emerging from his upper back and disappearing into his upper forearms of his jacket which is a white color holding buttons going up ether side of its front, no armor is visible on him as he prefers his body to be a limited as possible. The fur that covers the back of his jacket when he turns is revealed to be a large hood lined with the thick brown wolf fur, and at first with all the brown furr that covers his outfit at first the tail of brown that flicks about behind him would be seen as part of the outfit as well. That is until you focus and realize it is twitching and moving on its own, and indeed Lobo holds a wolf tail attacked at the base of his spine, as well as his enlarged fangs, his pointed ears having an odd oval-like shape much like a wolfs instead of a clean point to them, he even has small claws on the tips of each toe and finger, which also exclaims why he always has a lack of shoes. Preferring his wolf-hair covered pants, and hoody with no visible shirt beneath as he see's no need for it with his enhanced body heat and credible muscle and physique beneath. A thin 'happy trail' goes from just beneath his toned broad chest down his abb's too meet his abbs in a thin trail down to his pelvic region where of course he is covered by his fur-covered sash and pants, a final touch being on his sash is a long fur-coated lower-jacket that almost blends with his tail however it is obviously laden with something else inside it, though what exactly is unknown. He sneered softly, revealing his long fangs at the men who flinched staring in shock, the sneer caused the wolves to grow and snap, closing in on the men ... and to their horror and astonishment, the young man howled ... not a howl of a human, but of a great alpha wolf into the sky, a call to kill, to hunt. Their screams filled the air, as the wolves had their late night snack. Slowly, Lobo turned and knelt ... frowning at the young girl, his clawed hand gently placed over hers clenching on her blade for dear life, "Great Honor you have, small one ... to even hold your blade in such a state. Fear not I will not take it ... nor your life." He murmured softly, slowly he rolled her over, eying the wound and gently he peeled back her clothing and top, not touching the wrappings around her chest to let her keep her dignity, he then grasped the earth with one hand, and placed his other on the wound. "This will itch ..." he warned gently to the bleeding girl, before slowly a dark green light flowed over her wounds, and then slowly the grass around them began to wither and die, patiently he watched as the wound rapidly sealed from the inside out. The cries of agony and pain behind him slowly died into the crunching of bone, before he smiled softly and nodded, "You lost much blood, but now you will be fine. I am Oakpaw ... or Lobo in your human tongue." She would see him still kneeling beside her, tail twitching as he tilted his head curiously. "Do you need help to stand ...? It isn't pretty when my Father is feeding, I can take you back to my home if you wish." he nodded a bit with a smile. Slowly twirling the flute in his hand as he glanced sadly at the perfect circle about five feet in radius where his hand had been, all of it was dry, dead and withered, had he used magic to transfer the life from the grass into her ...? Such things were unheard of in this age of metal and swords, only elves should usually be able to do such things with the magical energies. .. And yet here this ... thing. Man. Was capable of it, as well as somehow being the alpha of such a huge pack of even huger wolves, he simply watched her with his grey-blue eyes holding vertical pupils, lids half closed lazily with a small smirk on his lips revealing the tip of one of his fangs.

In the darkness, holding a slim branch between her teeth as a dog might, though it had a flame on one end, a makeshift torch that crackled and lit up the side of her face, casting flankers and bits of ash and shriveling bark down across her clothing, which were more or less merely a blatant set of armor. Her lord had offered her the finest set of armor that he could possibly have made for her, built custom at that, but she had refused it, he had already given her so much, she didn't want to constantly feed off of the elven lord, he had already shown her great kindness, given her a better life and a chance to be something more than a street urchin. With that being said, she was filled with regrets for having declined such an offer. She would like to walk around, looking more like a knight and less like someone had strapped scrap metals to their torso, but she supposed it would mean a lot more if she earned it herself. A sigh escaped her as her teeth tightened on the branch. She was striding along, clearly not watching where she was going, as she had a somewhat old looking map painted on a scroll that she was holding away from her face. She twisted it from side to side, holding upside down and right-side up, over her head and below her torso, but that did not help her any. The ink on the scrolls did not change, nor did a very, very painful fact that she did not wish to admit, much less accept. She was lost. She was in a strange land, a forest in fact, far away from the comfortable living arrangements the elven lord, Avias, had granted her. Far away from the warmth of the city, or the kind elves that she had essentially grown up with, though none of them had really aged in such a short time, she had in fact matured into a young woman. A human woman, no less. An oddity among the elves living in the hollowed trees of Hayashi. They had often spoke of the Ovashi Plains, rumors, legends, and horror stories of the humans, and truly, she might have believed humans were the monsters that some of the more closed minded elves made them out to be, had she not met Mister Gilder. Gilder was a middle aged human, kind and skilled with a sword, intelligent, too, and not entirely hard on the eyes. He had helped her a great deal in recent years, significantly swaying her opinions of humans. In fact, he had insisted upon traveling with her, escorting her to the city she needed get to, but she had declined, saying he had done enough and that she could find her own way there. At the time, she had whole heartedly believed she could take care of herself, guide herself wherever she needed to go, and walk without fear while doing so... She also felt terribly stupid and naive for this, as she had absolutely no idea where she was, or how close she was to her destination. The blonde hung her head a bit, striding onwards and becoming vaguely aware that the runt of a Dread Wolf accompanying her was growing uncomfortable, or rather he had been for quite some time, letting out soft growls or warning that she had neglected to heed. He shifted and she fur was standing on ends. He seemed aware of something that she was not, and so she came to a stop beside him. What is it? She inwardly wondered, the fire on the end of the branch flicking about in the darkness as she tried to see beyond the glow, with little success. She was about to roll up the scroll and remove the branch from her mouth when a howl let chills through her spine, and perhaps the howling itself would not have startled her so much, had it not been so bloody close to where she was standing - and had it not been followed by humans screaming. Her icy blue eyes slowly sidled to the side, the moon light allowing for her to see what was happening. The slaughtering of the man that she recognized as bandits, for she had already encountered a few on her own, and these huge canines that looked like massive wolves. "Mrfh hmrf grnh,"she mumbled, against the branch, her words quite clearly inaudible, though she was very likely cursing. The black wolf, which looked like a pup compared to the beasts before them, was growling lowly and backing away slowly, which seemed like a very good idea, but unfortunately she was rooted in place as she watched the man apparently playing with a corpse. It seemed so impossible that she had stumbled on something so strange, and she once more regretted leaving the elven city. While her mind wandered, the branched continued to burn and burn, eating away at the stick faster than she had noticed. Before long, it had crept up on her licking along her lips and burning them, only slightly, mind you, as well as her tongue. She promptly spat out the stick, which continued to crackle and pop where it fell on the ground, while she hissed quietly, caught off guard. "Great Jaba'hir's knickers!" She said, in the place of profanity, as one hand cupped the side of her face lightly. She seemed to share the same 'oh shit' expression as the wolf beside her, as he mouth gaped slightly at her own stupidity. Granted, she wasn't completely stupid, she managed to reach for her sword, her left hand resting on the hilt, as she was left handed, and promptly dropped her scroll on the ground, where it fell to rest, dangerously close to the burning torch. |

As her cries weakened, her resolve never wavered for a moment, this woman knew she would never allow these bandits to take her sword, the sword that her Father had given her as long as she drew breath. Especially after her defeat at the hands of the Swordsmen just a little while ago. It was the least she could do to perhaps hold onto a shred of honor and she would rather die than see something of the sort happen. Fortunately she may actually get that wish as she heard it, the loud howl of a pack of wolves nearby, something which had actually gotten a small grin to creep across her blood covered mouth as she realized that at least if she was going to die, these filthy bandits would at the very least also go down with her, penance for their attempt to steal her sword and for their plans on what to do with her. It didn't take long at all for them to emerge either, frightened bandits back away from Rin, almost as if serving her up as an easier meal. She could hear the rustling of the grass behind her, and she never once would turn or attempt to roll over to see them coming, she would only turn her attention to the bandits with that very same grin. She may die, but so would they, and she would die holding onto her sword, a proud young woman, afterall she had failed, so what was her purpose in life anymore? Although much to her surprise, these wolves actually didn't stop at her, she could hear them approaching from each side of her, but they didn't stop. Instead they made their way around her and then infront of her, standing between herself and these frightened bandits almost as if they were protecting her. That grin slowly melting from Rin's face as she soon looked on with a puzzled expression, unsure of what to make of all this. Something which only got worse when she heard the sound of a....flute? Certainly things could only continue to get weirder and weirder for the young woman as she continued to lie there, now allowing her head to rest again as she began to hear more foot steps, this time belong to a man who made his way to her side, this time taking his time to stop and let out a bone chilling howl which did just that, it sent a chill up Rin's spine as she soon heard the cries of the men as the Wolves leaped forth and tore them apart. She wouldn't even look at this man as her hand remained glued to her sword, she almost involuntarily pulling it closer to her body as she could practically feel him kneeling beside her. He placing a single hand upon hers which held onto her blade, although this certainly got an cry of protest from Rin, she was shocked to not hear the sort of words used by the bandits before. She without a doubt questioning the motives of her savior at the moment. Instead he was commending her on her honor for protecting her blade as she had been doing. He reassured her that he was not here to kill her nor take her prized possession, but she was quick to question his motives again for she was soon rolled over to her back. This not being what was a bit odd, but instead the fact that she soon felt the top half of her clothes gently opened, revealing her nearly bare chest had it not been for the bandage wrap which covered herself. She let out a weak sigh of protest as she fidgeted around, wanting so desperately to be able to push him away or hit him for intruding in on her body like this. Granted, she wasn't the most developed female out there, but she still had something worth covering, and being this helpless little thing wasn't helping her case. She could feel herself cursing on the inside as she saw his hand being lifted and placed upon her wound, causing her to wince slightly from the stinging sensation, but that was quick to subside as she began to feel some.....relief. The pain falling away, the wound closing up and her breathing beginning to return to normal. She couldn't help but lie there in awe of what had just happened, she nearly oblivious tot he sounds of bones being crushed in the maws of the wolves which continued to feast on the bandits which planned to take advantage of her. She was going to live? Still while most people might have been overjoyed by this news, she couldn't help but immediately come back to something he had said. Going to lift her sword which was usually light as a feather, she couldn't help but struggle slightly with it, no doubt still suffering from the amount of blood she lost, once she had it up, she was quick to bring the broad side of the sword down across the top of this man's head. It far from being anything damaging, hell he would likely only barely feel it, but it did show the amount of fight this young woman had. "Watch....who you call small..." Rin weakly called out to the man who had introduced himself as Lobo. Rather thats what he introduced himself as to which she would recognize him as. Rin wouldn't have much time to respond beyond this as she would have normally yelled at him for offering her any sort of help, before they would be interrupted, by the sounds of someone shouting just a few paces away from them. A bit annoyed by the sudden gathering of things in one place, Rin slowly began to push herself up, struggling and no doubt pulling away from any help which Lobo might have been offering along the way, she using her sword as somewhat of a brace to this with until finally she was back up and on her feet, doing her best to stand proud with her usual hardened expression as she once against sheathed her sword. This action however would cause a sudden shift in her weight, and even though she did her best to hide it. Her wakened self from the loss of blood soon found itself swaying back and forth before falling to one side, fortunately right into Lobo's body. It pained her to know she couldn't even stand on her own, causing her to grit her teeth and let out low growl of frustration as her fingers began to dig into the side of his jacket. "Damn it...." She let out as her eyes began to scan the darkness, falling upon the wolves which had been feasting, eyes widening slightly at the sheer size of them. Something she hadn't noticed before hand. Which speaking of such, this man she was currently leaning against was also quite huge. Granted that normally wouldn't be saying much in comparison to her own small frame, but even to an average person he was practically a giant, to her it was even worse. Soon her eyes also feel onto the figure in the distance, she just barely able to see a silhouette or two out of the flame of the torch as it lies on the ground, able to see a sword drawn... |

... THUNK!! That was the first thing that this girl gave him the lovely experience of, a whack to the head of all things that made him blink and shake his head rapidly for a moment in confusion much like a dog as his tail stood strait like an arrow after the impact for a moment slowly, before it twirled and began flicking as he blinked in confusion and stared as she forced herself to her feet. "Ara ara ... thats not smart ... you'll faint from lack of blood going through your bod- ..." he blinked as a curse and yell cried out through the forest, slowly glancing over and blinking as he sniffed, and arched a eyebrow ... slowly he smiled a bit and began to whisper softly, it had no words, no shape or magic ... it was different, odd, calming words that flowed into Ira's death wolfs ears ... slowly the message came, as the wolves stiffed and their ears perked. All animals understood him perfectly, humans and elves knew nothing only a peaceful voice flowing wordlessly through the air. To the animals the words were perfectly clear, and perfectly understandable, as well as completely trusting, for Anamalic's gift of the animal blood went deeper then any other, and all animals imitatively had nothing but pure trust to them even if they just met. The words were simple, "Calm ... we have little ones in our midst." The giant wolves made grumbles, and slowed their eating .. scarfing the rest down less noisily, before slowly sinking down and sitting licking themselves clean much like dogs do after a meal, suddenly looking surprisingly tame as he blinked, the young raven haired woman falling against him, her had only reaching up to about his lower chest and abbs, the six foot nine man blinked slowly as she weakly plopped against him, fishing out form his bag with a chuckle. He slowly tugged out a small bag, handing it to her and suddenly with surprisingly skin, tripped her up, pushed down, catching her weak body so she sat on his foot a moment and gently lowered her to sit. "... Please stay for now and eat, once you get your blood back to normal in a bit you can be as independent as you wish." He smiled warmly, before turning his gaze to the woman and small wolf again, giving a whistle and another string of words that were not words, as the small dread wolf that was with Ira would likely want badly to come toward him tail wagging like a tame puppy. Likely an incredibly rare sight, as the mans own bushy brown wolf tail flicking across Rin's nose by mistake as he knelt down and grinned, leaping forward tackling the dread wolf and ... wrestling with it?! They both acted like dogs, rolling and pawing at each other, lightly biting at each others necks and legs, tails and limbs as they both took up the stance of 'puppy play' the wolf with both front legs stretched wide forward, hind legs and tail up, wagging rapidly. Lobo mimicking the wolf, giving growls and barks exactly like a wolfs, nothing like a human imitating such as they went back to wrestling for several moments. Lobo then, finally broke it off and scratched at one of his odd ears and whistled, slowly the largest of the wolves, though only bigger by a few inches, pitch black tinted with grey crept toward him and the small wolf. There was an exchange of ... something between the three ... something unsaid, and yet said at the same time, before the dread wolf would run back toward Ira and ... start pawing at the ground in front of her and jerking his nose toward Lobo whom then climbed up, sitting on the back of the massive wolf whom slumped down and laid down, legs up as Lobo scratched his belly like some over sized puppy. Whether Ira came on not, Lobo would stretch a bit before he slowly sat down and continued scratching his ... ''pets'' apparently, though likely it was something deeper, tummy as the other wolves took similar positions, plopping across the road, or alongside it, content to wait as long as their alpha was. He slowly stretched and crossed his ankles as his bare feet ... odd for the middle of the forest, lined with long white claws, stretched a bit before he waved to Ira. "I wont bite much, promise~" He called over before he looked to Rin curiously and frowned, "Whats your name miss ...? I caught the scent of your blood a few miles back, I'm sorry it took so long ... I'm just not that ... er ... used to saving people. But ... Yeah." He shrugged and took his flute back out, playing a soft tune on it as he relaxed against the massive wolf ... somehow having turned the place from a sword sparing zone, to a bandit grouping, to a massacre, and now a roomy outdoors family area in a matter of maybe thirty minutes tops as he waited for Ira to come over, eyes still half closed lazily as he played, being ungodly calm and laid back about the entire ordeal that was going on, his gaze glancing around a moment as the darkness finally swallowed them all whole, and he looked at the moon smiling oddly as he closed his eyes and tilted his head back, simply enjoying the light as he waited for Ira to come close and for everything to settle. |

There was a great deal going on around her, the girl, whom she thought to be a corpse, was moving and trying to stumble about, even when she clearly had no energy or strength to do so, the wolves were gulping down the murdered bandits like the elves did ale, and the male, whom was rather odd in more ways than one, seemed to be the center of all of this, the ring leader, if you will, and there was a slight throbbing in her lip and the tip of her tongue, but she hardly seemed to notice it as she gingerly outstretched her foot, using it to put the flaming torch out before the fire could spread - not even because she was afraid of burning the forest down, rather, she feared the wolves would be mad at her if she did... A nice, pure girl such as herself would probably taste good, right? She wanted to laugh at her mental joke, but it mouth was too dry from the tension she was feeling, hesitant of these strangers, the wolves, the man, the girl. What exactly was happening in this dreary forest? Did things like these often happen in the outside world? She could hardly wrap her brain around the situation, it was all so complex and out of the ordinary for her. The blonde might have been a little less thrown off if the wolf at her side hadn't suddenly stopped growling. She turned her gaze to him to see his ferociousness having vanished as he cocked his head like an inquisitive puppy. Her expression was a blank one, but her mouth gaped slightly in utter shock. Due to the fact that she was so fixated on the suddenly, ever so tame wolf, she did not noticed what the strange man was doing with the girl. Slowly, she lifted a hand to her face, pushing on her chin slightly to lower her mouth. If seeing the wolf cease his growling surprised her, then seeing the black furred canine dart towards the man and begin to play with him like they were old friends nearly floored her. It was a strange thing to see, a grown man wrestling with a wolf. She swore she could see the man biting at the wolf, nipping playfully. The man was evening howling and making the sounds of a wolf. The man seemed to call forth one of the hulking wolves, and she could have sworn that they were talking amongst themselves. Of course, she couldn't pick out words, it just seemed that way. She narrowed her eyes a bit suspiciously, then tore her gaze away as the wold came to her feet and seemed to want her to go to the strange man. "No thank you," she mumbled, lowering herself to scoop up her map, she observed the scroll somewhat delicately, brushing it gingerly clean, as though it was something very precious to her, though it held little worth in regards to gold. She was too busy checking to see if her map was okay to notice the wolf before her. She glanced over the top of the rolled parchment as she heard the man calling to her, making a face of disgust that was largely hidden behind the paper, aside her eyes, which were scrunched suspiciously. Nevertheless, her hand had moved entirely away from her sword. The runt of a dread wolf stared up at her, prancing around her feet. He wanted very much for her to move closer, to stand with everyone else, but as always she was being as thick headed as ever. He snorted a bit to himself. He might not have been as intelligent as a human, but he still recognized her stubbornness, and so, came up with a more effective plan. As she was preoccupied with the map, he darted around her in a flash of fur, and without warning or hesitation, gave her a tap in the rear with his nose. Ira nearly jumped out of her skin at this, letting out a soft yelp, she had ended up moving several feet forwards as one hand went to cover herself, the other holding the scroll to her chest as she eyed the Dread Wolf as if he had gone insane. Once more her eyes narrowed, as though challenging him to try such a thing again. And he did. He goosed and nudged her inappropriately, with her letting out soft squeaks and sounds of protest, until she was near the group, and finally swatted him on the nose with the scroll, blushing and wielding it like a sword - an unrolled, limp sword. "I'm here already, give it up..." She mumbled, her feathers seeming to have been ruffled as she glared at the animal, whom seemed particularly pleased with himself. Slowly, her blue eyes turned to look at the man, whom towered over her, the girl, whom seemed to be an anorexic dwarf, and finally to the massive wolves that were splayed out all over the place (not to mention the blood coated ground...). Needless to say, she was not entirely sure what she had gotten into, but she slowly brought her map upwards as she heard the man beginning to play an instrument. Funny, this stupid piece of paper doesn't say anything about 'The Forest of the Giant Wolves... There should be a warning here somewhere... |

It had been days since she ventured away from her home, away from her family and friends. Having left with few provisions mostly because she figured she would find more along the way, but as of yet she had not found much in the form of plants or other things that were edible that she already knew of. Even so she had continued on, leaving the shorter grass’s and plains of her home land, she had wandered through fields with grass’s tall enough that the blades of them could tickle along her under belly, she would paw at the taller grass sometimes, reaching down and pulling some up to sniff it and even take a little taste, quickly though a scowl crossing her brow as she dropped it and moved onwards. * Definitely not an edible grass… * she spoke calmly, turning at her upper waist some and rummaging through one of her pouches, she would pull out a dried meat and slowly munch it moving onwards. Another day was passing as she stayed out of the sun, traveling more at dusk and sometimes dawn, the nights always a bit cooler but by staying moving at night she kept warm, and could relax and rest easier during the daytime. She stayed in relative shade when she came upon what could only be the biggest forest she had ever seen, that wasn’t saying very much though as she had only seen one other forest and that was near her home. * So far so good, I’ve not seen any other creatures really.. but.. what if we were the only ones lef….. * her thought cut off as she saw something scurry through the Gras at the tree line, she had been sitting but moves quickly, padding after it, using her front paws to try and swat and capture the little rodent she had spied, Leaning down and grabbing for it as well with her hands. She would pin it’s tail, reaching down and collecting the small thing, it’s squeaking cutting to the air as she danced around a little, hopping and moving from paw to paw, first her front left, and rear right paws on the ground, then alternating to right front and left rear. * hehehe I caught it! I caught it!!! It’s so cute! * she was holding the small mouse by it’s tail. * mmm it looks pretty tasty too…. Better then bread * she smiled taking out some string from another pouch, she tied the little thing up so completely that their was no escape for it before she put it in her pouch as well. Her morning after catching a mouse was uneventful, mostly her bedding down, curling up and sleeping through the day, only waking if she thought she heard something, or to reposition. By nightfall, she had taken out the small mouse and finished off it’s little life, a small snack almost, it barely made that but it was better then nothing at all. As night started falling she made her way into the forest further, her pads falling almost silently to the ground, more often the crunch of leaves filling the air as she moved along, looking one way then another as sounds filled the air from all around. She guessed it still had to be fairly early when she had heard the sounds, howling of some sort filling the air and seeming to crawl through the forest as if carried on a life of it’s own, she paused, holding her arms to her chest and rubbing along her arms a little, taking more hesitant steps until she smelled blood. * ooh… I wonder, it smells like a kill….. maybe something left enough behind I can cook it… * she moved forwards again, the howling seeming to quiet but she was following the scent of the blood now. Moving between tree’s and brushing some away, the furr around her paws just a bit soaked through from walking through the night and the dew that was caught by them. Her tail long and slender was swaying slowly as she moved. It only took a while longer when she tripped over a root from a tree poking out of the ground, having thought she was close to what ever had been bleeding before, but she had not expected to stumble and fall on a wolf of all things. All one hundred and seventy five pounds of herself had come to lay upon a wolf, the larger animal cause her to scream a bit as she got up quickly, backing up, her rump pressing against a tree as she side stepped a bit awkwardly, her tail between her legs as she looked around, seeing more wolves, how had she not seen them before, was she zoning out that badly on just the scent of blood. * ah.. s..s…sorry… * she didn’t know what they were, but one wolf was easily the side of half of her body their, and even falling on it, it felt like it had more weight then her. What if it attacked, what if all of them attacked, could she out run them, hopefully they were friendly though as she held her arms across her chest more tightly, all four of her foot-paws flexing as she sat her butt to the ground. Sitting up on her hind legs a little she hugged her front paws across her belly lightly. * Y.o..ou guys… a aree friendly.. r..right? * smiling some as best she could in hopes that maybe by some chance.. that would help her make them nice. |

Hearts Left hand

It wasn't as if Rin had cared whether or not her actions were smart or not, to her it was merely a matter of being able to stand on her own to which she had clearly failed. This fact was also irking her greatly which could be seen as she was practically seething with frustration, shaking ever so lightly as her mind began to scream at her to push off of him and stand on her own two legs. Her body on the other hand would not allow her to do so, and it wasn't too long before Lobo would do the same. In all of her inward focus she hadn't been paying much mind to the area around her, she having long forgotten about the huge wolves devouring the bandits, and that they had slowed down to be more stranger friendly. As strangers such as Rin and Ira may have been a bit frightened by the sounds of their feasting, ignoring the fact that their sheer size was more than capable of making either of the two uneasy. Fortunately the smaller woman had this to at least keep her mind preoccupied for the time being. Then of course came Lobo to intervene when she was ready to try and stand on her own again. Sweeping her legs out from under her whilst gently sitting her on his foot with her hands bracing her. He lowered Rin down into a seated position, to which she let out words of protest the whole way. "Hey!....Let me go!, Unhand me!" It was actually somewhat miraculous for such a small girl to be able to have such a loud voice, even with all the blood she had lost, and in her weakened state. Still, it would do no good as she soon found herself sitting on the ground and given a small bag which she assumed contained food. Her assumption forming from what this man had said as he asked her to remain still, at the very least until she managed to gain her strength again. As much as Rin hated to admit it, this buffoon was correct at least in this statement, but that only worsened her current state of mind in regard to what has just transpired. Defeated, she let out a small grumble as she began to open the bag, she needed her strength back, so as she could apologize to him for the dishonor she has brought him. Opening the bag she had been given, she found the basic survival kit of food, usually emergency rations of a small piece of bread, however she was surprised to find an apple in here too and a small container of water. Rin had immediately went for the Apple and took a small bite from it. Now normally she may have nodded her head in approval to the taste of a fresh fruit, and although it didn't take a genius to tell her that something was a bit off about this day. To her it almost did seem like she had died and this was some crazy afterlife party of something, but a slight ticking sensation across her face and chest....wait chest? Stopping mid chew, Rin took notice to the fact that Lobo had a tail, that enough was a bit strange for her. Furthermore it was brushing across her face, and ....her chest, RIn almost couldn't help but slowly tilt her head down and immediately her cheeks flared a deep shade of red as she noticed that her Kimono jacket was still wide open, exposing her nearly bare chest to those around her. More importantly though she began to recall that Lobo had been the one to open it. "Why you!!..." Rin practically growled which seemed to go unnoticed to that wretch as he began to go off playing with some wolf. Rin was quick to shift her position slightly to the side, so as to not look at him for the time being whilst she fixed her top and then continued eating whilst still not giving him her back. Flustered beyond belief and cheeks still as red as ever from the mere thought he nearly saw her bare chest, had it not been for her bandage wrap. Still she did her best to shake the thoughts from her head, ignoring his playing. Although what did become a tad hard not to notice was a new voice, one which had yelped and yelped again and again. She lazily began to tilt her head back to look in their direction just in time to of seen Ira on the scene, now in clear vision and from the moment Rin's eyes widened slightly upon seeing her, or rather she didn't see Ira immediately. Perhaps it was the night air and perhaps it was a mere delusion from her loss of blood, but what she saw certainly was not Ira. That Blonde hair, those blue eyes, it was....that man! Rin's mindset completely changed from being somewhat relaxed to immediately angry once again. It was him, it was that man, she was going to make him pay for what he had said, for what he had done to her and her Father. Slowly Rin began to push herself up yet again, struggling as much as she had the first time as she used her hands as a brace on the ground as she leaned forward. Very slowly she managed to get to a vertical base, her eyes never leaving the man she was mistaking Ira for. Once she was fully standing, Rin stumbled backward a step or two before nearly falling forward, just barely able to catch herself and finally stabilize. Her breathing becoming heavily erratic as she was pushing her weakened body far past what it should have been, Rin needing to rest and not fight. Of course telling her such would do no good, the proud warrior wanting nothing more than to protect the name of her Family, granted she was mistaken in this situation, one could truly see just how much pride this young woman had. She would merely shake off any help, or not listen to those words which told her to stop. She did not care or even take into note the existence of that runt Dread Wolf of Ira's which may have stood between her and her master. Spreading her feet apart, Rin bent her legs at the knees slightly as she allowed her upper body to lean forward just as slightly, Her right hand gripping at the hilt of her katana whilst as her left merely held onto the sheath as to steady it. If one were to look into the face and eyes of Rin they would have seen the whole story. This woman had a look of fire in those eyes, the determination to do as needed and yet that distant pained look of her recent loss. Still as she stood there, it wasn't long before her actions began to catch up with her. She closing her left eye as she began to pant out loud, sweat pouring over her body and face. It wasn't but a moment or two after she lowered her head, hair covering her eyes and much of her head. "I....I will avenge....The h-honor....of my Father..." She weakly mumbled, almost to herself as she lacked the strength to shout it as she would have normally done, although Lobo may have been able to hear it. Still it was just a moment later that Rin's body just gave out. She who just a moment or two ago was ready to strike, soon found herself falling to her back to the ground. The blood of her jacket and her currently prone position would suggest that perhaps she was a corpse, especially to the Taur which had just stumbled across there once happy little party. Although those wise enough or merely close enough simply could tell she was not dead. Rin was still conscious, although her breathing had not slowed and that pained expression hadn't left her face. She was utterly defeated, she couldn't do anything to save her name, she couldn't bring down the man which had dishonored her and more importantly her father. It all threatened to bring a stream of tears to her eyes, something she fought back against to deny, not allowing herself to cry, too proud to do so like the child she was often mistaken for being. "....Damn it..." Whether she wanted to or not, it was hard, nearly impossible for her to hide the pain in her voice, she truly was hurt in both body and mind. |

Lobo had continued to play his flute happily as he watched the girl eat, blinking at er shyness as it made no sense to him why humans hid so much skin, and it was obvious as he wore only the jacket and pants, and in all honestly it was doubtful he wore anything underneath, even undergarments ... the man was far to feral in appearance and personality for that as his tail flicked slowly, his gaze slid toward Ira, grinning slowly as she protested, he whispered softly to the dread wolf, who of course did as he asked, nuzzling her rear over and over bringing a yelping girl toward their makeshift camp. He promptly flipped off of the back of the wolf, scratching the giant under his chin before walking over to Ira, tail flicking and wrapping around her so he swung himself hands on her waist as he curiously snatched the map from her as she was distracted by suddenly getting her rear grabbed, and he was gone! Suddenly sitting on all fours looking at the map in confusion about three feet away. "... Where are you looking at a painting with scribbles on it like that ..." He asked blinking slowly as he began to turn it left, right, upside down and the like unable to understand what the odd .. and rather bad painting was for. Sitting back with his legs spread almost exactly like a dog, front 'legs' or his arm down on the ground, though one was up trying to read the map and understand it, hard to do when your raised by a pack of giant wolves. He blinked slowly, before scratching at one of his abb's, slowly he raised his hand and and looked over his shoulder as his tail flicked about slowly, his foot raised and he scratched at his ear like a dog would blinking before he watched Rin stumble and struggle to her feet ... watching her and listening to her whisper, his ear twitching once. "... Ara ara ... your seeing things." He walked over, slinking along on all fours like a wolf before he saw her fall to her knee's once again, he sighed and slowly circled her, wrapping around her much like a dog would their owner, his tail wrapping around her affectionately as he gave her a light hug and began explaining to the panting exhausted girl gently. "... Firstly its a She, no a He. Second the scent is nothing like the one that was here with you. Thirdly she's not nearly skilled enough to deal that wound, she doesn't walk with the correct grace for such precision, not yet at least." Gently he nuzzled her with a smile. He then scooped her up, laying her gently back at the wolves and a large female wolf wrapped around her, keeping her warm and soft as the food was placed beside her once again. "Rest miss ..." He said gently, before turning and meandering back over to Ira, sitting down once again before he stretched out again to find yet another disturbing sound, and smell as he sniffed as a large cat ... no, Taru? He had seen a very few of their race in the woods but they stuck to themselves and he saw no need for his pack to hunt them. He tilted his head as she stuttered and fell back as the wolves simply blinked slowly at her, letting out low grumbles but thats about it as he slowly waved to her, "You're fine miss don't worry, they've eaten already ..." He nodded, tail twitching a bit as he motioned the large feline Taur toward him as he lifted his foot once again scratching at his ear rapidly with his foot in his usual sitting position, arms down at the ground, legs spread a bit, one up scratching away as his brown hair was tossed about each foot impact to the side of his head. He watched her a moment before he whistled to a wolf, whom blinked ... slowly meandering over into the forest, a bit later coming back and dropping a leg of a deer in front of the Taur for her to eat. He blinked a bit and gave a growl of pleasure as the itch apparently his a particularly good spot and slowly he stretched, waiting for the Taur to come in before looking to Ira curiously. Slowly he tilted his head and linked much like a confused dog as Ira's wolf padded over and snuggled up against him, he then scratched the dog behind his ears happily, blinking and another non-word conversation was held as he blinked. "... He says your trying to get to the Humans Town ... is that what the freaky bad painting with scribbles is for?" He asked curiously, pointing at the map that had been placed on the ground in confusion as he tilted his head again. "If so ... your about a hundred and twenty miles ... backward from the direction you wanna go ..." He said nodding a bit, rolling his broad shoulders a moment in annoyance before he slowly rose up onto all fours. "... If you would like you can come back to my home with me to rest and restock on food and such, and then I'll take you there." He offered brightly as a wolf barked suddenly, his ear twitched and he glanced to the side warily frowning as the wolves rose up, slowly facing the direction of up the road as he slowly turned watching as well, exactly what was heading toward them for the moment unknown as the Wolf man simply watched and waited like all the others ... sitting near Ira, Ari, and Rin all almost like a watch dog as the huge wolves made a semi-circle with a hole through it, the hole being the road, wolves on ether side of it carefully waiting. |

Ira was too busy scolding the black wolf to pay much heed to the whimsical weirdo that had been playing the flute. She swatted him on the nose several times, albeit not overly hard, as she was merely telling him off, not actually trying to cause him harm, but before she knew it, she felt fur flicking along her body, tickling her between the spaces in her armor, followed by a hand, and... The next thing she knew the map in her hands was missing. Gone. Stolen. By that fur covered nature boy that insisted upon causing a ruckus. With narrowed eyes, she followed his movements, wondering if he was a complete moron, since he didn't seem to know what a map was, and also, he had groped a woman with a sword. Something should have alerted him that she was not to be messed with, if not the icy glare that could freeze a glass of water solid should have been hint enough. "Give me back my map, you manner-less mutt," she warned. Generally, she was not so protective of her possessions, but it had been given to her by someone that she deeply respected, and so she did not particularly like other people messing with it. She took the first step towards him as the dark haired girl struggled to her feet - and curiously enough, seemed to be addressing her. Her blue eyes stared back at the girl, a brow arched slightly as she eyed the female suspiciously, "you're panting like a pervert, sit down..." She suggested, and though her words were blunt, they did not sound particularly threatening, she simply did not like the way the other girl was looking at her. A moment passed, in which she continued to watch the other female, and before she had really thought much on it, another thought had passed her lips, "I thought you were a skinny dwarf, but you're too small to even be one of those... They generally are built broader, I think... Unless you're a runt..." She wondered, dryly, his eyes narrowing a little once more, "a very agitated runt," she concluded, watching as the man crept up to the girl, she made a stride towards her discarded map as he spoke to the girl, and her eyes narrowed further at his words. "Never thought I'd meet a person more tactless than myself," she mumbled, and suddenly caught sight of the taur, whom for whatever reason hadn't taken any particular note of before that instance in which her eyes fell upon the mismatched creatures. "Umm..." Was all she could mumble, though a part of her wanted to say the word 'abomination,' she somehow held herself back, perhaps she was simply too stunned to speak up. "Riiight..." I'll just get my map and get away from all of these freaks... She thought, shaking her head a little as she crouched alongside her map, picking it up carefully and again gently swiping away any dirt that had lodged upon it. From her position, she noticed that her runtish companion had again wandered over to the man and snuggled up to him, and the girl could not help but feel a bit jealous. In their short time traveling together the wolf had never expressed any sort of affection, or even like, towards her. Did he hate her? If so, what made that strange guy so special?! She huffed a bit to herself, deciding that, with or without the Dread Wolf, she would take her leave, there was nothing to be gained in sticking around a cursed forest of weirdness, not when she had places to go and important questions to ask. The blonde up righted herself, deciding to roll up the map and tuck it away, she paused as she heard the male addressing her again. "It's called a map... It's not freaky or bad, it's just old..." She muttered, seeming put off enough as it was. After she had secured the map, she froze up at his announcement that she had gone entirely in the wrong direction, her eyes were wide with shock, and yet she was not terribly surprised by this alone, deep down she had always known that she was completely and utterly lost, it was mostly his offer that surprised him. The teen regarded him skeptically, "why would I like that? And why would you even offer?" She wondered, in a tone that suggested she did not merely believe he was doing out of some willingness to help a stranger. Again, she was given pause, as she remember the whimsical elven lord that had picked her up off of the streets out of mere pity for her. She visibly drooped a little in confliction. Certainly he would be ashamed to see her utter lack of manners, would he not? And that what he had done for her had taught her nothing at all? Raising a hand slowly, she scratched at the side of her face gently, at the area she had earlier burned, as she mauled over what he would want her to do in such a situation. Her eyes wandered towards the girl, absently, whom had seemed to have some sort of grudge to her, and the beastly lady that had appeared so suddenly in the night. "I changed my mind, I'll -" She cut herself short as the wolves suddenly started to act weird. Her brows furrowed a bit in confusion, and she bit down lightly on her lower lip, silencing herself. |
