January 11, 1112 Dusk fell over Maliseet, and night was just around the corner. With the festival in full swing, the streets were crowded with tourists from all over the region. Tonight was the night of the famous movie award show, and even more people were out than normal. Even though visitors had stopped showing up the past few days, the festival had remained in full swing. With the various events and shows going on, the city guard left only a small force on patrol near the gate. On the main street, a young man carrying a satchel rushed towards the stables. David quickly pushed his way through the crowd, and entered the stables. I shouldn't have stayed in town this long. It's only a matter of time now. Once he had retrieved his horse, he entered onto the busy street yet again and headed towards the gate that led out of town. Now that he was on horse back, he was making good time. I really hope they were wrong, regardless of the evidence that says otherwise. He watched the crowd with mournful eyes as he passed. No one deserves what's coming. As David hit a bump in the road, his satchel flipped open and a map fell onto the street. Upon inspection, one could tell that it showed the outskirts of Maliseet with various animals drawn to represent what appeared to be an invasion force of sorts. |

All that Shelton got as a reply for a moment was an angry glare. His first impression of Shelton was that he was rather full of himself and thought himself higher than he actually was. His glare slowly changed to a smile as he responded to Shelton "Unless you keep that attitude you are correct" he patted the man on the shoulder to get across what he really meant by the statement before continuing to make his way to the guards. If he managed to arrive without any further distractions he would remove the sheet from his pocket and reveal it to the other man "I'm not sure what this exactly means but it might be best if you report it to your superiors." |

Three young guards sat playing cards at the gate, with four more 'patrolling' on the nearby walls. At Wilhelm's interjection, the three below exhanged glances before bursting into laughter. "What's gotten into ya, mate?" questioned the closest one. "Don't you know we're the only one's on duty here?" added a second. "Relax and enjoy the festival pal," slurred the third with a smirk. |

Shelton stood there wiping his shoulder with a hanker chief after the man put a hand on his shoulders. He said, "I truly don't get what your trying to get at with that...but whatever floats your boat..." With that said Shelton kept walking, his sword clanking in its sheath with each step he took. Soon enough he approached a small cafe at which he got a bite to eat. Nothing too indulging. A salad, and some water. He sat at a small metal table outside the cafe finishing off the remainder of his salad. He looked up at the sky almost falling asleep. "I wonder what that guys problem was...I didn't even properly understand his statement..." |

An armed hooded man bumped into David, "Excuse me." He said politely, though it appears that the man had dropped something without him noticing. It was a small knife made for throwing, the type which could easily be hidden. And lost, apparently.

"Don't you understand?" Wilhem attempted to argue further with the men before giving an annoyed sigh and realizing how pointless it would be. "Bah! The guard around here is worthless nowadays!" He mumbled before running off toward a cafe in hopes of being able to study the sheet more. "Just wait until I am the leader of the guard" he mumbled to himself as he entered. What caught his eye first was the boy siting in the cafe who seemed to be eating like his life depended on it. He payed little attention as he removed the paper from his pocket to inspect it before he ordered. Maybe there was more to this than he suspected in the first place. |

"Watch it, pal!" David exclaimed as the man bumped into him. Noticing the dropped knife, he quickly snatched it up, dropping it into his satchel. Sitting down to eat, he began to scarf down his meal. As he finished, he withdrew the knife once more. He examined it closely, searching for any recognizable marks of value. "Look who wins again!" the guard bragged, as he swiped up his winnings. "Look who cheats again is more like it...," piped a second. "Don't insist we play if you're gonna be an ass about it," the third guard added, lecturing the second. "Oi! Open the gates!" a guard called out from the top of the wall. While the winner of the card game counted his winnings, the third guard answered the call. "We here ya!" He stood up and walked over the gate controls on the wall, opening the large doors to reveal a severely wounded man. He stumbled into the city, blood flowing out of a deep wound in his left thigh. "So many...," he mumbled, his eyes wide with shock. "What the hell is that thing?!" The shout echoed from somewhere on the wall. "Oh lord, close the gate, NOW!" The guard manning the controls began to grow nervous. "Alright, alright! No need to be so dramatic," he mumbled as he fooled with the controls once more. As the doors closed with a loud thud, a loud roar echoed from the outside. The guards stood frozen with fear as something began to slam into the gates repeatedly. "OPEN FIRE!" With the command unleashed, the guards above rained down gunfire onto a horribly deformed bear. David snapped to attention as he heard gunshots. Damnit, damnit! I knew I was running late! Leaping up from his chair, he sprinted out the cafe and mounted his horse. If those shots are coming from the western gates, that means I might have time to make it out the southern gates. |

It didn't take long for Wilhem to react to the gunshots. Moments after he had heard the distinctive sound he jammed the slip of paper into his pocket and shoved people out of the way left and right. "Bah! I wasn't quick enough!" he sprinted down the street toward the sound of the gunshots as he drew his pistol from it's holster and slammed a clip of ammo into the weapon before placing it back into its proper place. He then shrugged the rifle off his shoulder and checked the rounds he had placed inside where still there. He smiled slightly knowing the weapon was still combat ready as he ran forward with the barrel facing the sky, being careful not to impale a passerby on the bayonet. |

Fionn heard the sounds of something hitting metal from far away, something big. He swung the oversized blade off his back and jumped off the building backwards and stabbed his blade into the building to slide down safely. When he got to the ground he ran towards his client. "We need to go, now" He said to the pudgy man as he began to guide him towards his carriage, knowing it would take the man into the inner city faster |

With a shadow hot on his trail. "Hey!" The same voice belonging to the hood man called after David, tearing across the ground despite being on foot. Using a fence as leverage, Cetan performed a flying tackle at David. |

As David finished attempted to push through the crowd, something heavy slammed him into the ground, putting him into a daze. "Agh! What the hell?!" he squirmed, attempting to break the man's grip. "What is your problem?!" As he struggled, he began to work his wrist into position for a wristbow shot, careful to not be noticed. |
