It's really hard to choose only one season because I really love all of them. They all have their pros and cons but I had to vote for season four. Although season four was really dark I really enjoyed and loved Shameless cast's phenomenal performances. We have incredibly talented cast and they all got to shine last year, more than previous years, in my opinion.

My favorite season is definitely season 4. I agree it got very dark at points, but it all really worked for me. I'm dumbfounded that Emmy and Noel didn't get awards recognition. |

I had to go with season 4 as well, though I also love all the other seasons to death. Season 3 has some of my altogether favorite episode but I think I'll have to go with s4, yeah. The darker elements appeal to me (even though Frank's storyline annoyed me a bit eventually but still) so I'm here for that

I think I'm gonna go with season 4... But, well it doesn't mean I don't love all the other seasons!

I guess I'm standing alone on this one-season 2 is my favorite. While there are episodes and moments that I absolutely love from all the other seasons (not to mention a lot more Mickey!), I think season 2 hangs together the best as a complete season of television. I loved the way the season started on a lighter note and then gradually got darker until the end. In particular, I loved the arcs involving Monica's return and seeing the effects her disorder had on her kids, Lip and Fiona's big fight about him leaving school and him preparing to be a father, the (first) demise of Ian and Mickey's fledgling relationship, Ian and Mandy's friendship and him supporting her after what happened with Terry, all of it. Most of it was really sad, but it was so poignant and well done, and it lay the groundwork for a lot of what would come later. |

You're not really the only one stagmania, I hesitated a lot between season 2 and season 4! I finally have chosen season 4 cause the acting was absolutely stunning, every episode got me so deep into so much emotions that I couldn't chose differently. But I do agree with you season 2 was such a great season, as you describe it, the way it slowly became darker and darker was exactly what makes it one of the best season they had, I have so much love for that season. Damn show ! ^^ |

I definitely agree with what you're both saying about season 2, it's so great and the two final episodes are so heartbreaking. Picking between this show's seasons is a really hard choice, for most shows it's easy but this one has be stumped. |

My favorite was Season 2 as well, actually! I loved the bright atmosphere summer brought that was not experienced in Season 1. I loved Ian's cute little puppy looks and Mickey's few but far between moments. Karen also really began to grow and develop into a totally new character than who we know originally after all she had been through. Overall, I really enjoyed Season 2, with Season 1 being a close second. |

It's so close for me, season 4 was amazing but i just love season three. I think I love the first 5 episodes of season 3 and the last 6 episodes of season 4. But if i have to pick, season 3. Just watching those little moments like the kiss and running through the alley and the sleepover (up until 'you know what' happens). Those moments were so exciting the first time i saw them. |
