"You'd do that?"
"You're my girlfriend."

This was needed, so I made it. Show your appreciation of their friendship

There needs to be more of it, period. Hope we can have more scenes of them hanging out at least at the beginning, because I think Emma Greenwell is gone during the later episodes.

Mandy and Ian's friendship is pretty much nonexistent now, eh?

I sure was confused by her showing up in 4x08 at the gallaghers without saying hi to Ian. That was odd.

To be honest, sometimes I think the writers forget that Mandy was Ian's friend first, long before she was one of Lip's love interests. But then other times I think maybe it's not that the writers have forgotten, but that we're seeing Mandy and Ian actually becoming more distant because they've got so much shit going on in their own lives right now that they just haven't had as much time for each other. And it's sad, but it's realistic. Maintaining a friendship can be time consuming and difficult when everything else around you is falling apart. But after seeing Ian's reaction to Mandy's abuse, and Mandy's reaction to Ian's crash in the finale, there's no doubt they still care as much as they ever did. I hope that with Ian being at the Milkovich house now, we'll see more of their friendship again.

I love that with Ian, we got to see Mandy act like the young girl she really is, happy and at times even carefree. I love that with Mandy, we saw someone Ian could be completely open with about his sexuality without worrying that they want something from him or that they just won't understand. Mandy asked questions in the beginning, sure, but after that was established it was never an issue for them. There just never felt like there was any real stress in their friendship, and I'm sure sometimes it got hard - with Mandy dating Lip, with Ian trying to hide that he was fooling around with Mickey - but when we saw them together, for the most part, they were always just so happy. And that's something they both deserved so, so much, and that's why I hope eventually they'll be able to get back to that.
