Like the title says, what made you decide to start watching Shameless? Did a friend recommend it to you (or bully you into it) or did you, as so many others, see a gifset on tumblr that intrigued you?

Funny enough, for me it was because of James McAvoy. I became interested because of James McAvoy because of X-men First Class which ironically came out the same year of Shameless. I was looking to see what else he had been in so I watched the pilot of Shameless UK. It was only then that I found out about Shameless US and started watching that, and I am glad I did.

I think It's funny because my entire family watched the show before I did. My mom, my dad, even my grandmother watched the show. They all told me that I would really like it. Also, one of my best friends told me to watch it as well. The thing that really drew me in though was Gallavich. I watched a couple Gallavich videos, and after seeing it, I decided to FINALLY give it a try. I fell in love with it from the first episode.

When Dexter s5 ended I was running low on TV shows to watch and was on the look out for new ones. So it was fortuitous that someone mentioned Shameless on a Dexter forum. I can't remember the context. Either it would be airing in Dexter's timeslot or just as a new Showtime series. Anyway, I watched a trailer and thought it was worth checking out. I took note of the premiere date and tuned in. I was hooked from the first episode.

I have a friend that had been telling me I should watch it, but I just put it on my imaginary "to do" list. I didn't know anything about the show at all, I don't think I ever saw it on my tumblr dash until someone reblogged a gifset of the "You're my mother too" scene. I thought it looked like amazing acting, I could feel the emotions through the gifset alone, so that convinced me to watch it. I also loved Emmy in The Day After Tomorrow so I basically I started watching for Emmy. I even bought S1 on DVD before I'd seen one single episode.

And then I binge watched everything that was out so far in a little over a week

when I started watching the show in 2011 it wasn't big on social media (it literally took me forever to find decent shameless blogs to follow). I had a flat mate back then who also loved tv shows and we both kinda suggested different shows to each other and watched a lot of shows together every week and I think she watched the pilot, linked me to the trailer and from then on we watched the episode together every week. I didn't know anyone else who watched it and it is literally my fault everyone around me is now obsessed at watches it (:

My dad saw it being advertised on television or something like that, and decided to stream the pilot episode to see what it was all about. I was in my room at the time so I didn't watch it with him, but the minute that episode finished, my dad was dragging me out to the living room to watch it all over again from the beginning because he said I had to see it.

It was hilarious (I cried), it was heartwrenching (I almost cried again), it was pretty much the best thing I'd seen on television in a long time. I was instantly addicted and attached to each and every Gallagher, and we marathoned the first two seasons before that week was out. Luckily for us, the third season was just about to premiere - I think we started watching the show on the Christmas break, and of course the new season comes out in January so we only had a few weeks to wait.

I guess that was almost two years ago, now xP

Several folks told me about the series and I'm from Chicago (born & raised) so I said why not? And I'm hooked!!

Currently, I will start Season 4. Slow start but this series has hit home several times for several reasons.

It's an awesome series!!!!!!!!
