And last thing I remember he is about to get killed how did he escape? I can NOT wait for the next episode..I just hope he doesn't hurt Fiona anymore.. My poor sweet Fiona.. What is gonna happen next? Tune In for the continuation of Dragon Ball Z- I mean Shameless... Oh and Ian=9 inch dick? Please. Edited by adorvilla, Feb 9 2015, 06:27 AM.

I was in physical pain through this episode, wow that was intense. Let's just applaud Noel's acting once again because wow wow wow. Ian's shaking voice in the end had me doubling over as well, ouch. Fiona and Lip's scene in the kitchen was really nice, I loved that. I was worried he'd be pissed or say something idiotic, but he was really supportive. That leaves me thinking Debbie probably won't be. Frank once again had too much irrelevant screentime, at least his storyline last week was funny and didn't bother me. I'm so over Jimmy, that plotline's just leaving me so underwhelmed already. Yawn, next. I love how they're using the fandom headcanon that Ian's hung as shit Though of course Mickey was probably exaggerating just because. edit: I keep rewatching the "cheating on me, Ian!" scene, because I love to hurt apparently. I do love how Mickey consciously got rid of most of the immediate anger and hurt before he went to see Ian, because he knows he's sick and yelling at him won't help (though of course that sucks for the poor guy he beat up ).

More like Half the fandom= YAY JIMMY STEVE! Other half of the fandom= GO AWAY JIMMY STEVE! Lets be honest it is pretty divided. And I would rather they kept him but others want him gone and it does not look like he will be staying so there is that. |

If you go on the general Shameless tags there's a lot of anti-Jimmy posts, but I was on the Jimmy tag earlier and I saw a lot more pro-Jimmy posts. It definitely seems pretty divided and just depends on where you look. I think the reaction would have been a lot different if he was brought back in season 4 (properly) as opposed to a season where Fiona has multiple quickie love interests and where people were really digging her interactions with a girl who turned out to be Jimmy's "wingman" so to speak. Either way I'm hoping that there is a purpose to Jimmy's return and it's not used to destroy his character and write him off for good. If that was the case, the online confirmation of his death was all that was needed, there was no point in bringing him back. I have a love/hate relationship with him, I have ever since the second season, but I would much rather end on a positive note with his character whether it's with a reconciliation or just closure for him and Fiona. Still honestly getting those "these two are endgame" vibes from the music they played. But I don't know if that's because the writers want to eventually write him back in once he and Fiona are in a better place as individuals, or if it's because I know in the British series (which this has already deviated so much from) they end up together, and so much of the series was dedicated to building up their relationship. As opposed to Gus, who was introduced in one episode and married in the next. Or Sean, whose relationship with Fiona was three quarters of the way developed with romantic feelings included when the season started. Jimmy and Fiona's relationship wasn't everyone's cup of tea - I enjoyed them the most in the first season, and enjoyed them a little bit less and less with a few exceptions as the seasons progressed - but at least they developed from the ground up over time. Whoever it's with, I don't care, but I want that kind of story for Fiona if she's going to be with anyone at all. Edit - I mean, that's honestly part of why I loved Ian and Mickey's relationship so much - we saw that progression, beginning to now, and it's the journey that has made their relationship worthwhile and their story compelling. There is no journey with Gus and there's no journey with Sean. Their scenes are cute, and Fiona's been happy which is great, but so far it is really not compelling at all to me. Even Mike we saw more than we've seen with Gus and Sean, which is probably part of why I actually liked him. Edited by Jessica, Feb 10 2015, 01:43 AM.

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED THAT ANGELA WAS JUST A STUPID WINGWOMAN I AM SO UPSET :(((( ALSO BOO JIMMYSTEVE. i hate his guts i am just not at all here for him coming back. and then it was so random too like he just sat there. why? because angela told him fiona got married? wow, like that's cool. come back when she got married like you haven't fucked her up enough. UGH I AM MAD IN CASE YOU CANT TELL. LIP - light of my life. i understand where he is coming from and i want him to be happy and if that means leaving the Southside behind, good for him. that scene with Fiona in the kitchen was my ABSOLUTE favorite this entire episode. which is a huge deal considering we got a good amout of Ian and Mickey and these two usually steal it for me. but Lip and Fiona was so important and so telling. the way they caught up with each other and it was all so natural and okay. like no judgement on either end. i loved it. and that hug. KILL ME PLS. CARL - you do you and i am happy. flawless boy. especially his reply to sammi: "you are not a gallagher" hahahha bless you Carl. DEBBIE - cute and here for it. FIONA - good except the JimmySteve stuff. the thing with her friend who OD actually made me tear up. so horrible. I like her and Gus and her and Sean's friendship why did HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED be back??? why. ugh IAN - NO! no no non nonononononononon so so so sad. i wish he would trust Mickey but ugh ths disorder is so wicked. horrible. I am scared, just scared. the only time he was normal was when he was talking to Debbie and that broke my heart. MICKEY - angel. i could cry thinking about every scene he was in. I loved the banter with Lip because it showed me some of S1 Mickey and I adored that. I love his criminal activities and how freaked out he was by that wanted poster. and it tore me apart watch him just getting so so antsy waiting for Ian that he decided to shoot that store up. when he beat up that guy I was just yelling into my hands. he took it out on some random guy because Ian is sick and he can't do it to me. the fact that Ian cheating on him was the final straw for him to aknowledge Ian needs help is sio important to me. It shows how much he truly trusts Ian and that he knows healthy Ian wouldn't do this to him and act nonchalant about it. the last scene whn he cried made me want to stab myself. Everything hurts but this is my OTP and i am here for it. FRANK - uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. awful. i hope Sammi gives him hell. i like her way more than at the beginning of the season. overall this was A +++ episode i gave it a 9 |

I find it really bittersweet that Lip is finally realizing he wants more from his life than what his neighbourhood had to offer him. He's struggled between holding on to the person he used to be and the person he wants to become, but he's finally made his decision. It's just sad because he doesn't feel he fits in at home anymore and he's actually leaving early. I mean, come on, Lip Gallagher offering to help out in order to get into the dorms early? Who would have seen that coming, lol. I am slightly worried about the gun that he just stupidly threw into the street with his prints all over it, especially considering he HAS been arrested before and I'm sure his prints are in the system from that. Though I don't think, if that goes anywhere, it'll happen this season. Which means there's a good chance it might just be forgotten about entirely. Spoiler: click to toggle I love Debbie and Carl bonding, it reminds me of Lip and Ian's friendship in the earlier seasons so much and I am all for it. I think Debbie is becoming more comfortable in her skin which hopefully will help her grow as a character. I think it's interesting seeing her get along better with her "annoying little brother" than other girls her age, because that's something Debbie has always struggled with. Holly and Ellie were the first "friends" we ever saw her with, and now she doesn't even have them. We still don't really know why, but I think that's kind of the point, because Debbie likely doesn't know for sure why either. Sometimes that just happens, when two of your friends are closer than the rest, and have something in common that you don't really understand. My guess is still that Debbie's inexperience made her feel left out when Holly and Ellie would talk, and it poisoned their friendship because Holly and Ellie were probably closer. I remember in school I had a group of friends that ended up sectioning off like that, and I was fortunate enough that I wasn't left on my own like Debbie, but it did hurt a lot because it felt like we just stopped being friends without anything really causing it or any discussion leading to it. And I did get mad at them for the longest time for ignoring me and never including me because we had been so close, and that was with me having other friends that I could hang out with and confide in. So I imagine for Debbie it's a lot harder, because she has no one else, these are the first friends she's ever made, and it's likely over something she's been very insecure about the entire series. And that kind of falling out is realistic in some cases, I mean there are plenty of female friendships that work just fine - Fiona and Vee have had one the entire series, and Fiona has a pretty good relationship with her female coworkers as well - but there are some that just don't, and Debbie's relationship with Holly and Ellie was always going to be an example of that because she was friends with them for the wrong reason. Hopefully in the future she can have a positive female friendship but I'm not surprised that this wasn't one of them. I'm really indifferent to Frank's current storyline which is clearly just there for shock value. It feels like a remix of his storyline with Sheila in the first season - gets kicked out of "his" house, needs a place to stay, cons his way into the fancy nice house. I'm glad it was short lived. He's a love to hate kind of character, his storylines are hit or miss and this was a miss for me. Typical Frank antics, but nothing really new. Debbie saying that Frank letting you down is a Gallagher rite of passage was surprisingly sad, we all remember her putting up fliers when he was missing and putting pillows under his head when he was passed out on the floor. But it was kind of a nice scene to have with her and Sammi, who last season was being very high and mighty about them not caring about Frank's liver failing and now she's starting to understand why. Spoiler: click to toggle I really don't have a lot to say about Fiona this episode. I loved the storyline with Jackie OD'ing, mostly because the scenes and acting were fabulous and heartbreaking. But I'm already over her marriage with Gus, and it's nothing to do with him and everything to do with Fiona locking herself away in a responsibility-free bubble which is something she admitted to herself. (I think she said stress free bubble, actually). The reason she doesn't want to tell her family is because her marriage with Gus, her relationship with him, the time they spend together in his apartment, it's something she's using as a form of escape. It's a fantasy she's living out but actually living and the other shoe is going to fall sooner rather than later to wake her up from it. I think Gus telling her "let's make it the best mistake we ever made," is foreshadowing that it will end, but probably amicably. I definitely want to talk about Ian and Mickey this episode as well, but I have to get ready for work so I'll leave this here for now and talk about them after. |
