THE STORY YOU KNOW
Many know the story of Lessa and Ramoth. Especially those found in the world of Silver Falls Weyr. It has not been long since the pair brought back the Weyrs and discovered the dragons' ability to Time It. As the turns continued though many issues arose between the Old Timers and those that were from the current Pass. Oh, and was it a Pass to remember as Thread rained down on Pern once more.

In this time a white dragon was hatch, impressed to a holder named Jaxom who became famous in his own right as well as Ruatha's Lord. More time went on, more heroes and heroines came forth throughout history, and when AIVAS was discovered it seemed that Pern would finally be at the end of its troubles. The rumors that the machine knew how to rid the world of Thread bubbled under the surface, but where are story changes is here.

THE FORGOTTEN CONTINENT
Before AIVAS revealed exactly how Pern could rid itself of Thread and the Red Star, it showed the coordinates to a forgotten continent in the east. The place had been long lost to civilization, and when the riders arrived in a small search party they found a series of caverns both naturally formed and man-made in the mountainside. Many of the floor-level rooms and caverns were hidden behind expanses of waterfalls that flowed from the mountains down to the sea below. For this reason the area was named Silver Falls.

What they riders did not expect to find was a room deep inside the cavern system that was near volcanic hotsprings, the floor filled with warm sand and partially mechanic in nature. Inside they found two large structures that when asked about, AIVAS replied were the chambers left over from the a laboratory trying to continue the research of genetics; specifically, that of the firelizards and dragons. Once opened, the two chambers restarted the process of forming genetically engineered eggs...dragon eggs.

Pern waited with bated breath as it worried over the two clutches. From all over the planet, Weyrs sent riders, weyrfolk, crafters and candidates to help fill the newly named Silver Falls Weyr. However, only fighters were sent in order to keep the area safe from Thread. Three weeks before the estimated hatching date however Fort, Telgar and High Reaches Weyrs all disappeared over night. It was a few days before this came to the attention of the other Weyrs and Holds, but immediately worry filled the minds of Pern's people.

Two weeks later Monaco Bay Weyr disappeared as well, along with many of the well known heroes of old that became the things of legend. Despite their sudden loss as well, Pern was slightly more settled. Perhaps it was just another jump for some reason and they would all be returned? Thread was slowing anyway, and at the most only a good twenty to thirty turns remained of the Pass. Then, only a week ago the first batch of the engineered eggs hatched with successful results...and surprising ones.

THE ENGINEERED CLUTCH
Three new colors arose from the shattered remains of their shells. What some thought would hold a golden Queenlet now revealed a silver female. Some of the middling sized eggs too held their own surprises as first a shadowy hued dragonet appeared followed by a vibrant red and orange one. Not long after their sister shook the hatching more by displaying the compulsion found only in Golds, keeping the two dragonets from fighting and forcing them to find their partners. Last, one more of each the shadow-dragonet and the fire-dragonet hatched, these two considerably more feminine in their actions.

Together, the five weyrling pairs banded together for a meeting, pressed and encouraged by the Weyrlingmaster. The two riders of the shadow-dragonets named their bondeds Smokes after the hazy pattern of the dragons' hides. Likewise, the two riders that had bonded to the vibrant, fire-dragonets named them Flames. Unwilling to take part, but forced by the "watchful" presence of the Weyrlingmaster, the rider chosen by the new Queenlet named her Silver after her hide's color as well. It is still up to time however to see what surprises each of these colors holds, and if any of the guesstimates are even correct.

In the mean time, the few remaining Weyrs have spread themselves thin in an attempt to cover the Holds. Some more have come to Silver Falls in order to help protect and teach the new Weyrlings and the half of the clutch that still has not yet hatched. Among these new riders are three new Bronzeriders and a Goldrider as well, brought in to oversee the training and development of the new colors. Perhaps strangest of all the events though was the recent fighting between dragons and firelizards that has started to break out around Pern in various Weyrs and Holds.

The only question is...how does it all connect?
