Thanks for the info Phil.
I was wondering what our average attendance would be?
Although it's an increase of nearly 13% are people disappointed in that figure?
274 doesn't seem that great to me but i'm not sure what the club can do to increase attendances?
There seems a lot of fans like myself who go to watch Harlow Town when they can and aren't elsewhere like Spurs or West Ham etc but we need a few more regulars.
It's been a problem for years and the new ground hasn't really solved it so is it a question of pricing maybe?

People have said to me that the fixtures need to be advertised around the town/town centre. Anyone think this would make any difference? I think if you want to go to a match you will find out the fixtures yourself.

There are so many things that can be done to boost the crowd. Advertising around the town certainly won't do any harm. During our successful years under Eddie McCluskey we had some real good crowds at he Sportcentre. At that time we had Gavin and his Mrs (committee members) handing out flyers in the town centre on match-days.

The first thing I would do is arrange some prestigious friendlies at home in July. We were never able to do this at the Sportcentre due to various reasons. We now have no such restrictions and have a perfect playing surface all year round. Get people through the turnstile for these games, make it a good experience (hog roasts/ice cream vans/local bands playing pre-match, etc.) Once you get them in, push reduced priced season tickets for the forthcoming season. The under 18's ticket is fantastic value - why not expand on this, have a special family season ticket, encourage more ladies to attend games - make it a real family day out.

Last season we had just one home friendly against an Essex Senior League side - wasted opportunities in my humble opinion. I know the top sides will only send youth sides but a game against an Arsenal, Spurs or West Ham XI would still attract good size crowds. With Leyton Orient almost certainly destined to become a non-league side, why not try to get them down to the Arena in July? There is sure to be lots of publicity associated with their decline and there's a chance that we could attract some disillusioned O's fans who live in the town.

We have had this discussion many times over the years and Danny Chapman even alluded to the lack of support from the town in his after match chat on Monday.
Plenty of good ideas from Phil which would help in the summer months but how do you get people through the gate on a cold Tuesday evening?
If we have 3 home games in a week that is a lot of money for people to find and people like myself will pick and choose.
The answer isn't a simple one and I think it's a combination of many things including prices, to many evening games, isolation of the ground.
All these things need working on to get more people coming through the gate, but a good start would be working more closely with the schools. They are the future.

I suppose it depends on who one is trying to attract to the matches! Is it people who have never been before, and who might not like football anyway, or people who like football and support other teams? I suppose there are also people who like football but only watch matches on TV, and football lovers who have no allegiance to any team but go from ground to ground. We must remember most people have a limited amount of money for entertainment so football takes its place with betting shopvisits, dog racing, cinema, theatre, rugby etc etc. If anybody had the definitive answer on how to increase crowd numbers they would all be doing it!
