The United States government has been conducting experiments that have changed the course of history many times and changed the lives of many people. Albert Einstein's bomb, Mary Curie's blood bank, and others. At the same time there have been experiments with terrible results that were completed in an unethical manner. Human testing of biological weapons and radiation on civilians has been happening since 1950. The most recent experiment however, became the most terrible accident in the history of mankind. In 1973, military and civilian scientists began looking into a syrum that the Nazi scientists from the second world war were developing. The purpose of it was to be an introvenal medicine to revive dead cells and tissue. Should the experiment have gone as planned, the possibilities were endless. Troops could be brought back to life after being killed in action, Alsheimer's could be cured, and many other diseases and deaths could be reversed. This was not to be so, however. The test subjects, dead officers from all branches of the military, were injected with the syrum in a secret underground laboratory underneath a certain military base. They did in fact show signs of life, but they didn't retain the humanity they had before. All sixteen of the test subjects were mentally dead, but physically moving. Unexpectedly, the creatures attacked the scientists and military personell working on the experiment and killed a good few of them. Any of the soldiers or scientists that were bitten or killed turned into the walking dead. To stop the spread, the laboratory was sealed off and forgotten. Anyone still in there eventually ran out of resources or were killed, which equated to quite a few who couldn't get out in time. Years passed and the 21st century came along, bringing an age of technology and modernality. The old labs still remained untouched after all those years. It was out of sight and out of mind, or at least that was what was thought. The creatures had actually clawed at the earth and tunneled out over the years in hunger for flesh. Coming out in the middle of a corn field, they swarmed woodland areas and people started going missing fast. By the time people were aware of the outbreak, too many were infected to be simply killed off. In search of food, the creatures mainly migrated to the city and started slaughtering everyone. Military special forces had taken up the task of trying to kill them off despite government orders to retreat. Navy SEALs, Marine Marsoc and Recons, Army Rangers, Green Berets, and Delta Force Commandos attacked in organized strike forces. Many were killed, both zombies and special forces operatives, but they managed to establish bases throughout the city and a few out in rural areas. Regular military personell migrated to them to form various coalitions and the rest were still busy fighting around the country as the infection continued to spread Edited by Freedom Fighter, Jul 1 2013, 06:00 AM.
