The woman's smile widened and her eyes lit up slightly with undisguised pleasure. "Excellent. I'm Sadie Sharp. I've just got to stay here a bit longer due to a prior arrangement, but I doubt anything in particular will come up, so you're free to sit with me until I'm dismissed and can move to more... agreeable pastimes." |

Zeke looked at the drink, then back to his own. It appeared he had finished his original portion of liquor. He picked up the drink and sipped it. "Well, I thank the man. I'm never one to turn down a drink. But, I wasn't aware this was a gay bar." |

The waitress blinked rapidly, flushing slightly. "It, uh, isn't, sir. I was just instructed to bring you a drink. Oh, and to hand you this note." She hands Zeke a note, then walks away, flustered. The note is a rough scrawl, but still fully legible (if you ignore the alcohol stains). 'got a bit of intel on a former business associate of yours you might want to hear' |

Information I might want. Great, another attempt to pull him back into the weapons trade. He got up and walked over to the bar. "Bartender, get me a beer." He then lowered his voice, and spoke to the man to the man known as Davis. "Alright, what is it you want?" |

The man didn't even blink, didn't turn to look. Under his breath, in a low, rumbling voice, the man spoke, barely audible even to Zeke. "Vince Morrow knows you're not dead. There are a few people interested in making sure that Vince Morrow doesn't get to pull off his grand plot, whatever the hell it is. You're going to want to find allies, fast, because he's gonna move soon. And it ain't gonna be pretty." |

Allies. Great. So this WAS about getting him involved in that world again. He couldn't exactly look away from this subject. He had helped it along, and it was his job to fix it. But allies... the hell would he find those? |

An hour or so passed rather uneventfully. Hales left in a huff after about 15 minutes, but other than that no one really came or went. Sadie stood up from her seat, extending a hand to Hemlock with a smile. "I think that about wraps up my time here. Coming?" A number of lustful stares from around the bar were directed at her standing up, alongside a few jealous glances at Hemlock. Neither the bartender nor the heavily tattooed Davis so much as twitched in recognition of the woman basically garnering the gazes of everyone in the club. |

Hemlock had spent the last hour in deep reverie. It happened when she wasn't working, detective work had been Hemlock's, the human Hemlock's, passion. Without that anchor binding her to the present she would drift a little, slip into ancient memories, observe the world through celestial eyes. In these quiet moments of thought the Zophiel portion of her hybrid mind would rise to the forefront and wonder at the trappings of human life around her. This time Zophiel had lapsed into deep contemplation of the woman across the table from her. Zophiel found her entrancing, but Zophiel could be bound and captivated by any sign of life, seemingly at random. Hemlock dimly registered in Zophiels mind the opinion that, by human standards, the woman was quite attractive in both a sexual, and a general aesthetic sense. The Zophiel aspect frowned mentally at the dispassion with which Hemlock had presented that thought. In her human life, Hemlock had not borne any attraction towards women, nor men, for that matter, she'd had her detective work and that had been enough. Any attractions their combined mind felt now originated with Zophiel, Hemlock's human memories and form simply channeled these passions, giving them human form. Their reverie was interrupted by their companion rising. The distinction between Hemlock and Zophiel vanished in an instant and their combined voice said, "Of course!" Hemlock took the offered hand, smiling happily, and rose to follow. |

Sadie and Hemlock walked out of the club, Sadie leading them on a brisk two block walk to a nearby hotel, where she led Hemlock up to her room. Once they were both in the room, Sadie smiled sensuously and locked the door behind her. "So then, where should we start?" |

Damn. Well, it would've been foolish to draw attention in that way anyways, so perhaps it was all the better that they hadn't noticed her. And now that some of the more troublingly interesting people had left and the bar was a bit more at its average, Erela felt confident that she could begin to draw a few flies into her web. She had been told that if the bar needed a bit more excitement that she should perform a song of her own, and she was prepared to take full advantage of that offer. And she knew just the song. She put the video on, and Eartha Kitt's face appeared on the large screen at the back of the stage. Erela took her place at the mic in the low spotlight. "I've posed for pictures with ivory soap. I've petted stray dogs and shied clear of dope. My smile is brilliant, my glance is tender - but I'm noted most for my unspoiled gender. I've been made Miss Reingold, though I never touch beer. And I'm the person to whom they say, 'You're sweet, my dear'. The only etchings I've seen have been behind glass; and the closest I've been to a bar is at ballet class. "Prim and proper, the girl who's never been cased. I'm tired of being pure and not chased! Like something that seeks its level, I wanna go to the devil!" Her voice was somewhat higher than the original artists, but she managed to make the transition from the intro to the main song just as chilly, sending a shiver up the spine of anyone who was paying attention. "I wanna be evil, I wanna spit tacks I wanna be evil, and cheat at jacks I wanna be wicked, I wanna tell lies I wanna be mean, and throw mud pies!" Edited by FuzzyHairedFreak, Jul 10 2013, 02:01 PM.
