She took a long sip of her drink, pretending to be flustered in order to hide her utter lack of interest. 'Damn, this girl just can't get it up for guys, can she?' Erela thought, feeling for the first time inconvenienced by her vessel.

Recomposing her demure facade, she said, "I'm actually pretty new in town. I don't suppose you know of any interesting things that happen around here?"

"For a given definition of interesting. Nothing that young ladies should be interested in."

"Well, back in Corpus Christi everyone used to say I had some pretty strange interests. Like what?" she tried to keep her curiosity innocent sounding.

"Cults, mostly. And gangsters. Kind a shit you see in all those movies, except the bad guys get away. And that's not including all the weird shit that passes through here. Starting to think this place is a little too close to hell, if you catch my drift."

"Damn, and here I thought I'd managed to get out of Hell," Erela replied with a hint of a smirk, wondering if he'd catch her drift.

... Well then... No wonder she didn't know anything about subtlety.

"You know, you probably shouldn't be flaunting yourself around on stage. People around here don't really like demons."

His eyes passed over her again. She had nice taste in vessel.

"You know how to pick an ass, though."

The part of her vessel's mind she hadn't utterly overtaken during her possession caused her to blush at that. "Beauty is what I live for, and subtlety is not my forté," Erela replied, utterly unapologetic, and downed the rest of her drink in one go.

The McCalpin
A random customer's voice broke the tentative peace. "Hasn't that siren been going for a little long now?"

The siren of an emergency vehicle had been going off in the distance (in itself, hardly worth notice) for several minutes now, but hadn't changed in volume in the slightest.

Even in the throes of passion Hemlock remained alert to her surroundings, and though the part of herself she considered driven by Zophiel was loathe to cease such an... educational experience that siren had been blaring for too long to ignore. She drew away from her partner slowly, and even her rigid self control couldn't hide the regret she felt at this early ending.

"I should check on that alarm, it's... it's sort of my job. I can try to return if," once again Hemlock feigned shyness, though it was not as much of an act as it had been, "if you want. If you don't I understand and... and thank you."

Zeke looked up from his drink.

"That noise has been going on just a bit too long. I think I'll go have a chat with it. If you'll excuse me."

He stood up and strode out the door. Something about that girl didn't sit well with him. This was a good enough excuse.
