This isn't a list of herbs and oils but rather a suggestion of uses for them. I will try to add to this as with everything else. But I wanted to post some basic uses for consideration. :)

Spellwork - this is an obvious one for most. Appropriately chosen herbs and oils can aid in any spellwork. Oils can be used to consecrate candles, crystals and other objects for use. Herbs can be used in spellwork as offerings to the spirits called upon as well as to strengthen the intent of the casting. While oils are applied directly to candles, crystals and objects to be used, herbs can be placed in a dish on your alter during spellwork.

Offerings - herbal offerings can be placed in dishes on your alter, a shelf where you keep spirit vessels or even placed in charging boxes.

Creating barriers - some herbs have historical uses in creating barriers for protection. Depending on the herb and it's typical use in barriers, most of these will need to be spread either outside the home or at specific entrances into the home. If you live with others and rent a room, these can be used at the entrance to your personal space. But be aware that using herbs this way can be messy and obvious and may cause concern with roommates or others you reside with. So discretion is advised when using herbs this way.

Oils can also be used in creating barriers without the same mess and concern from roommates as with herbs. The methods with using oils in creating barriers works much the same way as used by some Christian faiths. Entry points such as doorways, windows, etc can be "blessed" with the oil of choice. You may also elect to mark entry points with oil using a protective symbol that is special to you.

Regardless of your planned usage, research is always recommended if you don't know which oils or herbs to use. Herbs and oils all have their own metaphysical uses, but many share similar properties. So substitution is acceptable when the ideal herb or oil is unavailable to you. While the properties of herbs and oils tell the universe what you ask, intent is just as important. Using an acceptable alternate herb or oil with the right intent will give the results you desire. So don't despair if you can't afford the item ideal to your purpose. :)
