I don't think that's restrictive enough on the tsubaki characters. It's your site, just giving my opinion. I think someone should have to have made a death scythe on another character before they are allowed to make a tsubaki character. Why? Well first of all, part of the creativity is making up abilities that fit your one weapon. Tsubaki characters are allowed random bs that you don't really have to be all that creative to come up with. On the other hand, proven dedicated RPers will be able to use it to come up with awesome characters. So it accomplishes two things. You end up with a lot less tsubakis to reflect their canon rarity and the RPers that get them are dedicated veteran RPers. Making it cost soul points is just not enough imo. On the other hand, I don't think limiting it to three is necessary. Just have them buy the forms as techs just like any other weapon would buy their other forms. It's already in the hands of a veteran member at this point. Might as well let them use it as canon used it. They'll know not to godmod.

Great point about the sync thing. I still think you should have a flat "No techs above this rank can be used" for sync below perfect. The problem we are running into though, is the debuffs are debuffing the wrong stats. The reason is there is no system in place for resonance. When a weapon and a meister sync (even when not perfect) the meister gets buffed. A lower than average sync would be lowering that buff and only a horrible one would lower it past the meister's individual stats.

I can see where you're coming from, and I appreciate the feedback. I don't really want anyone to have to make something like a Death Scythe in order to unlock things. While the system is not in place, creating a Death Scythe will be very difficult, and will take even a skilled RPer quite some time. In that time, I don't want ideas to be forcibly locked out for them, as that kind of ruins the creative spirit of the roleplay. Maybe that's just me, so I'd like to see some other feedback from one or two more people before I place a final say on that. I understand it's a reward for dedicated and skilled RPers, but it's kind of a complex issue... It's a great idea though, and likely to be implemented in the end :3

I see your point, and it's actually very valid. Considering the raw power of higher ranking techs, it makes sense to disallow that sort of thing without perfect synchronization. However, I then get to the point where that just feels like it's discouraging teamwork, as it doesn't really make sense to disallow higher ranking techs for individual Meisters or Weapons that fight on their own.

These are great ideas, and I appreciate you putting them forward, but at I don't exactly have a staff to convene with and correct the issues. If you have a better suggestion, and not just a gripe (not complaining, promise) then please let me know.

Whatever you decide, I hope it limits them enough. I don't want to see ten black stars running around.

Well I brought this up in chat and I'll bring it up here again. It does not discourage teamwork because the tech rank is lowered after the meister and weapon resonance buff. Resonance is a thing and it should definitely be represented. That brings up a whole other issue. There should be a shared tech page for partners. Plenty of techs can only be used with certain weapons and it only makes sense to do it this way.

I know the feeling. One Black Star was too much BS for me ;D

Resonance definately needs to be represented, as does team resonance. It's a system that needs to be properly thought out on paper and then presented. I originally only planned for it to be a one hit strike that would take enemies out if it hit. That doesn't feel right any more. If you have any specific suggestions for it, post it in the staff forum.

As for partner techs, yes, some will only be usable with a partner, however I have no intention of including an "archive" for techniques. Given the hugely free-form nature of the site, I would much rather people have entirely original techniques, or at the worst base them off of canon things. The technique level examples will be up soon-ish, promise.
