The world that exists outside our own. This is the realm of spirits ruled by the Shinigami of the Gotei 13, or 13 Court Guard Squads. The souls of the living are sent here after death, and a select few of those souls who possess spiritual power are chosen to become Shinigami, the gods of death who's task it is to guide lost souls to the afterlife and destroy the demons known as Hollows. Seireitei, also known as the Court of Pure Souls, is the massive fortress-city that houses the Gotei 13. The Seireitei and the Gotei 13 are ruled by the Central 46, a group of former Shinigami chosen to pass laws and verdicts on delicate matters and choices. There are 4 gates into the Court in each of the cardinal directions. Only Shinigami or those accompanied by Shinigami are allowed within the gates.

The Rukongai, or the Rukon Districts, is the massive city that sprawls out from the walls of the Seireitei. This city is the home to countless souls who do not have the spiritual energy to become Shinigami. The city is so vast that it is split up into 320 districts, each merely given a number as its name. The districts are numbered out from the center, and because of this, the higher numbers on the outskirts tend to degenerate into slums while the lower numbers near Seireitei tend to be lawful and clean.

Outside the Seireitei and the Rukongai is a sprawling countryside that looks much the same as the world of the living, and goes on for an unknown distance. Population in this area is sparse, though cabins and even small farming villages can be found in this area. Due to rouge Gateways and anomalies, Hollows find their way here from time to time, and so Shinigami are sent on missions to this area to exterminates these intruders.

The majority of the Hueco Mundo is covered in a seemingly never ending desert, silent and death oozing from it's appearance. The sky never changes, leaving it to be a dark and colorless land. It's the homeland for most Hollows an Arrancar. Underneath the Hueco Mundo is the Forest of Menos, where many Meno-class Hollows reside.

The Las Noches is a fortress located in the Hueco Mundo, it's housed by many Hollows and Arrancars. The inside of Las Noches is similar to a a castle, or fortress in the World of the Living. It was once abandoned, but now ruled by an unknown 'King'.

Karakura Town is a small town in Japan, however it has the highest concentration of spiritual energy in the entire world.
