Just so it looks like I made an attempt to get something up here. Out Of Character Rules: -Not many of them. Just use common sense, be respectful, and all the usual jazz. If I need to add specifics I will. (I'd rather not be forced to though.) -If you'd like to see the board improve, please offer criticisms or help with the board. It's always appreciated, and I'll take every suggestion to heart. (Unless it's absolutely ridiculous. I do have my limits.) In Character Rules: -Keep in character, obviously. -No chat speak. -There's no wording minimums or maximums, but if possible try not to only do one liners. We're better writers here than that. Unless it's a combat scene, there's probably going to be SOMETHING you can put. (I fully understand the need for quick descriptions in fights though.) -No god moding or meta gaming. Don't control other people's characters. -Also, don't randomly make/control NPCs either. And by that I mean if your character sees someone walking by fine, but if you want a named recurring character or if you do something big (Like stabbing them, because you're twisted and like stabbing poor defenseless NPCs), you'll have to run it by a moderator first. -Romance between characters/NPCs is allowed and in some cases encouraged, if it makes for a more interesting story. HOWEVER, while the board is generally more R-rated, sex scenes are a different story. Just use the fade to black policy, or if you really feel the need to write it out, use PMs. Enough said. -This world is created to be an RP board with RPG influence. Meaning I'm likely not going to do dice rolling (unless I'm indecisive or it sounds fun), and will more look to the character's abilities and your own common sense to determine how things go. Needless to say, if someone dies, it's going to be because they did something stupid. -That said, I'm not afraid to act fatally against characters when the moment calls for it. Don't get down or fight about it if it happens, because if it does odds are it was your own fault. As fun as jumping into an active volcano sounds, your character won't come back from it. So if things happen, just be ready to roll up a new character or stop on civil terms. Character Creation Rules: -I try to make character creation a very personalized and unique experience. Sure you can make your profile and throw it down, but I can guarantee you if you start talking it over with me or another admin you'll get to go a lot more in depth with things. -For equipment and skills, you suggest what you'd like, and I look it over and see if it makes sense for your character. A lot of what you start with depends on how you write your history. A peasant isn't exactly able to afford much in the way of armor, after all. (So keep that in mind and make it good. The better written/more in depth your history is, the better you start.) -Same for traits. I create them based on your history and experiences. They aren't always good or bad, and not all of them are for you to know until you stumble on them. (DUN DUN DUNNN.) The more in depth you go on your history, the more traits you'll start with. That's about it. More will be added as we go. Yay for being done reading. |
