First thing that you need is to download GIMP. Once you have it downloaded, open it. Click on "New" and set the pixels to 500 by 500. Next thing to do is click on the "Text tool" choose any font you like (I would go with Arial Bold). Click on the blank square, and start typing it (note: everything have to fit on one line). Now you can resize the letters anyway you want but they have to be all the same size. Next click on "Alignment Tool", Click on your words in the blank where you typed them. and click on the "Align center of target and Align middle of target". Say of now, your picture should look something to this picture: (Picture Cameron RedGem 1.png) white outline of the background should be the same. ------------------------------- Next Part Next is go to your layers, Right-Click on your words to "Alpha to Selection". Click on "Edit" at the top then click on "Copy" then click on "Select then None". Open a new layer, Layer Fill Type needs to be on transparency. Click "ok" Click on "Paintbrush Tool" Then under "Opacity" there should be a named called "2. Hardness 050" click on it and change it to "Splats 02". Once you got that, you will need to "Size" it up then it just be 20.00. It must be something that is close to very good to this to work. Since you seen my picture of the work, I am going to size mine up to 168.50 for this. Got that, now move you mouse over to your words. You will see other thing as well. You will the brush of the bottom of it be half way to the top and spread a line right through it. Should now look like this: (Picture Cameron RedGem 1 edit 2.png) Now click on "Filters" then "Aplha to Logo" - Click on "Chrome" Offsets (pixels *2): 10 Background color: Gray Click on "Okay: Now go to your layers, you will see something that says "Drop Shadow". Click on it and press the trash can. Add a new layer - set to Transparency then click "ok:. Now click on "edit" then "paste". Click on the "move tool" to set your words where they need to be good at. Then on your layers there will be something that says "Floating Selection" Click on it and click on "Anchor the floating layer" (this is right next to the trash can. Then click on "layer" move it down by the green arrows. Then "Right-Click Layer #1" then click on "Merge Down" Now should be something like this picture: (Picture Cameron RedGem 1 edit 3.png) ------------------------------------------- Next Step Click on "New Layer" - Layer Name: Map Click "ok" Click on "Painbrush tool" set to splats 02 and redo the line again. Once done, click on "layer" with your words on it, click on "Filters" then "Map" then "displace" The X/Y Displacement should have the name "Map" in there. Once it is in there, click on "Ok" Go to your layers, click on "Map" and feed it to the trash can. Then feed your background to the trash can. Now should look like this: word and some other stuff with a dark/light gray. (picture Cameron RedGem 1 edit 4.png) Don't forget, you can add your own symbol that you made it. ---------------------------------------------- Last Step On your layers, there should be only one thing there. If there is click on it and duplicate the layer of it. Click on the "Layer copy" then go to "filters - Alpha to Logo - Alien Glow" Then click on any color that you want this press "okay". ------------------------------------------------ Now once you got that done, there are 2 ways you can save it. But before I tell you, you need to save your work first. Go to "File - Save As" then save it to any file you like. The 2 ways saving a file are PNG (no background in the picture) or JPG (background with the picture) ---------------------------------------- JPG way to save is click on "File - Export - name the file and at the end put .JPG then save it" (picture Cameron RedGem 1 finial.jpg) ------------------------------------------- PNG way to save it. Go to your layers, Feed your "background" to the trash can. Then go to "File - Export - Name your background - at the end of naming it, put .PNG then export it" New window will pull it with a check boxes. May sure "Save background color" is set to OFF which has no check to it then "Export" it. (picture Cameron RedGem 1 finial.png) |
