Joint Statement from the Pharaoh of Osiris and the President of Spiritus
On the Osiris-Spiritus Summer Festival 2013

It’s our great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Osiris-Spiritus Summer Festival 2013! Osiris and Spiritus have been working together for many months now and it is time to solidify our growing relationship. We hope that this festival will serve as the Golden Spike between Osiris and Spiritus and that it will be the foundation of an even brighter future for relations between our regions.

This festival will be an event that will allow the communities of both of our regions to relax and celebrate together after working so hard, hand in hand, during the July coup. We will have a lot of games, competitions, and chances for Spiritans and Osirans to just hang out and unwind together throughout the week -- including a Skype night on Thursday and a Games night on Friday, with all kinds of events and activities before and after.

It is our hope that this festival will bring out the best of both Osiris and Spiritus, and prove to be the foundation of a fruitful, intimate, and everlasting relationship between our regions. With the darker times of the past month now over, and this festival heralding a promising future between us, we truly believe that the best is yet to come.

In the meantime, have fun and GAME ON!

Welcome to the Osiris-Spiritus Summer Festival 2013!

It is with the warmest welcomes that I salute you as you visit this fine thread of cultural awesomeness that we have put together for you. We have a packed week ahead and so to help you make your way around the festival, below is the programme for this week’s activities:

Tuesday
Tuesday is the opening ceremony. We will have a shared IRC channel running throughout the festival, which you can access using the following information:

IRC Channel

We will also be running a Grooveshark radio at various points during the week, with the aim to have a long running radio station. We’ll post in here as this becomes live. If the link doesn't work, ask in IRC; if it's running, someone will know the correct link.
(Currently: http://grooveshark.com/#!/user/Horse/24466345/broadcast)

Finally, we have some competitions! See the relevant four threads for competition entries. These close on Saturday evening at 00:00 UTC for voting to begin.

See the competitions pinned in the Land of Make Believe!

Wednesday
Wednesday is table top night! We will have Yucata games and Danball games running for you to compete against others. We also encourage you to check out YouTube’s Geek and Sundry’s Tabletop show, hosted by Wil Wheaton, if you really are into board games.

Thursday
Thursday is YouTube over Skype night! We will have a running Skype convo going, along with YouTube and perhaps a late game of CAH on the IRC channel (or directly over Skype). More details as we get there.

Friday
Friday is Games night! We will have running games of Red Alert, as well as possible introductions by the Steam group on Team Fortress 2.

Saturday
Nothing scheduled for tonight, so we’ll take it from who’s around as to what we get up to in the evening. Remember, competition entries close tonight at 00:00 UTC.

Sunday
Nothing scheduled for tonight, so we’ll take it from who’s around as to what we get up to in the evening. Voting is opened for competition entries. There may be a small delay between closure of the competition and opening it up for voting as the entries are organised.

Monday
Live Grooveshark Party night! This is the big finale party with lots going on. We’ll be playing live music, games on IRC, and anything else you want to relive from last week’s festivities.

Tuesday
Voting closes at 21:00 UTC, so make sure you get in your votes quick. The winners of the competitions will be announced, and the festival will draw to a close.

So! Lots to look forward to! I hope you are as excited as we are! We will of course be working throughout the week to bring you up-to-date with details and how to participate, so stay tuned as we rock and roll through these celebrations.

Yucata games will be running tonight! Make sure you have registered on Yucata (link above) and have 45m or so free to play a game. Then catch Wuufu on the shared IRC channel.

The Osiris-Spiritus Summer Festival Skype Night

Skype Night!
The culture departments of Osiris and Spiritus are pleased to announce the third night of festivities, the Skype Night! The skype night will take place tonight, Thursday the 15th, at 21:00 UTC (17:00 EDT.)

Skype Night is where we all come together on skype to communicate to each other through voice chat and have a blast. From past experiences, Skype Night may run for hours on end.

Events
-Youtube Night: Suggestions made by participants for the entire skype group to watch a string of youtube videos. This will be done using the website Together Tube (http://togethertube.com). Together Tube uses a similar format as Grooveshark stations in that videos are suggested, voted on and approved, and played at the same time for everyone to watch. This can obviously go on for as long as you desire it.
-IRC CAH: With the use of Tammy, CAH can be played in the #spiritus-games room while the Skype chat is active.

Thanks for the avvy Wuufu! xD
I caught the ending of Skype Night and it was good, although listening to so many people was draining for me. :P

You're doing a great job with the festival thus far. :)
